How To Make Beeswax Flowers Without A Mould (Candles Too!)

- These are made from wax that we’ve collected from our own bees. Most of the wax goes back to the bees in the form of wax sheets in frames, but we make candles too. Usually we dip them - and that makes a lovely candle too, but I was experimenting a bit and came up with these. I like them - they’re supposed to be roses - though to be honest they’re not that practical. They don’t float very well (only paraffin wax candles do that) but they do burn very sweetly.
I should have said in the video that you need really warm water (as if you’re washing the dishes), and you start rolling from the point where I started cutting the disc.
If you’re interested I put the finished flower candles up for sale on Etsy and also discs in sets if you want to make some but don’t have any beeswax.

Hi there, lovely video. I would like to learn how to get normal beeswax for candles to become that flexible. In my country, Brazil, they have several types, but to make flower petals, they said I can only do if I buy the blend ready which cost a fortune, as this type of candles just "arrived" in Brazil and only 1 company make this blend.
Does anyone knows?

for anyone wanting to know. these are not beeswax sheets. they are called wax foundation, used in apiary (man made beehives).
+shanehuse These ARE beeswax sheets. I made them, I should know : - )
+WayOutWest Blowinblog look an awful lot like a piece of foundation.
+shanehuse Yes they do, because foundation sheets are made from flat sheets of wax. If you're interested look up the different ways I use them in the hives..
They are bees wax sheets. If you look closely, they are flat and they do not have the imprint of a comb like a foundation would have.

Rolling the sheets out will make them more soft and less brittle.

If you can try to put some wodden sticks in it, shape the beeswax to small balls and see if it connects and holds. Then you would have the game. And we would see, if it works.
