I don’t think Cody vs Logan was ever gonna be title for title in the first place. I think they wanted people to think it would be so they can do the swerve with Logan and his lawyer for heel heat. “Champion vs Champion” traditionally, and I may be wrong, does not mean title for title. They used the term “Champion vs Champion” during the brand warfare days of Survivor Series. When it’s title for title, they would dub it “Winner Takes All” usually.
Henceforth I shall refer to the endings of movies as the finish.

Yeah, they created a cliffhanger by having Cody imply it would be title for title...so that Logan could then show up and deny it because he's a heel.
Wouldn't be the first time they've announced matches or stipulations that with the intention of changing it later.

Even if they said title for title, the story is Logan swerved him. It's not that serious. Whether it's lame or not, it's the story. Cody being under the assumption was part of the story. I wasn't expecting Cody to win both belts anyway.

if the idea was to have Rock face Roman why not have him win the rumble then it would have made sense or just have punk win instead have him face Rollins if he didnt get injured and find another way for Rock to face Roman the match needs to happen now

I think we can all agree WWE has been putting out better more well rounded banger matches than AEW recently.
“Better” is so relative. I feel like the two just employ different methods of storytelling. WWE definitely has been using more in-ring storytelling than they have in the past though.
