And i cant believe how unimportant it is to me now 😮 it was literally my life before i can barely remember now tho. Soo weird!! You can recover!
I’ve been having onset attacks since last Thursday that’s non stop. I finally went to the dr and was put on Xanax. Is there any other coping advice that you can share with me please ???

that makes sense. i could say "im not getting better because my symptoms won't go away" but that is throwing the blame on my symptoms and not my response to my symptoms. if i feel a bodily symptom, freaking out about it is 100% my choice.
Great video as you actually hit the nail on the head with how I think! I am constantly setting myself back because I do read a shit ton of testimonies and reviews and sometimes their answers scare me and makes my intrusive thoughts worse like “ great I’m never going to get better cause that person didn’t get better” .. thank you Shaan for your videos!
problem with anxiety (discorder) is: When we see anxiety as something negative, we force a stress reaction, that causes more anxiety. So if anxiety itself is relying on stress hormones and we force new stress hormones into our blood stream by judging a stress-induced feeling……we keep ourselves prisoner in this loop. As soon as we drop the judgment, the thoughts and feelings have no more power to cause a stress-reaction and anxiety.
Hey friend! If you’re dealing with road anxiety, perhaps my story can shed some light on how to get out of this problem as soon as possible: Here’s my story: One night, as I was driving from Miami to Orlando in the twilight hours, a fierce panic attack hit me like a tsunami wave. I couldn't move, my body shook, and I struggled to breathe. The world blurred, closing in on me. I wanted to pull over, but I kept going, determined not to let panic win. And I’ll add, that it really felt like impending doom. Just Incase you think that somehow your story is different, let me tell you, It felt like I was a dead zombie behind the wheel! (I wasn’t sure that I’m gonna make it out alive) I’ll break it down: I felt like I couldn’t breathe, felt nauseous, as if I were dying. “BUT” I WASN’T FIGHTING THE SENSATION (THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART). I wanted to prove to myself that my body could handle driving at 80 mph for another hour and a half, even though it felt unnatural and out of my control, with shallow breathing at its maximum, making me feel like I was drowning inward. Despite this, I kept driving. Somehow, I made it to Orlando, the city lights welcoming me like a victory parade. I had faced the darkness and won, proving to myself that I was stronger than the storm inside me, that it’s possible. On the way back, something amazing happened. I felt calm, as if the earlier struggle had never existed. No fear, no torment, nothing! Afterward, I realized a powerful lesson: our fears can only be conquered by facing them. (Even if it feels literally impossible) Just like someone wise once said, our brains (the amygdala) learn from experience. By confronting fear, the storm eventually fades away. (Even if it takes two or five hours) It was a huge realization that echoed within me, showing me that I had the power to overcome my own fears. Ever since, no panic attack occurred on the road again. As a matter of fact, it helped me with other panic attacks as well. Wishing you all a happy safe journey, and a wonderful life!
I dont use these videos as a crutch I do listen to them daily almost like im in school and im studying to pass a test this information shann is giving is gold people
I totally resonate when you say that on forums ppl say that they are still struggling but the book is helping them greatly. I seriously cannot equate managing with overcoming. Management of symptoms to me is NOT overcoming.
That is the problem, not believing . Start by trying. The problem also is that before , mental health was not so talk about. You have more resources now!
Check out the Hope and help for your nerves book by Claire weekes. It’s hard to grasp at first, and hard to accept, but basically the root of it is that a person has to get to the mentality that the symptoms don’t really matter and go forward anyways. It’s all the worrying and avoidance that keeps it alive. Desensitize your nerves and let time pass pretty much. Have a good day!
From last 4 months I am facing anxiety. The only symptom I have is the feeling of not being able to breathe properly and need to check my breathing constantly through out the day which really ruins my daily work life. If this symptom goes away, my anxiety is gone altogether. What were your main symptoms of anxiety ?
Does anyone have burning sensations in the head and bad headaches? I have been to so many specialists and Doctors Naturopath Acipuncture nothing seems to work. I realised I have to deal with this I have been struggling for 8 months now

Hey 👋🏽 you’re not alone trust me . I’ve been having the same symptoms that I had to leave work to see a dr . I was prescribed Xanax that i took for the first time last night . As for right now I’m feeling a bit more calm because I’m watching a UA-cam video about author Claire weekes and her book about coping with anxiety. You should look it up . We will get through this together trust me
Put it under the anxiety umbrella. I was super unbalanced. Felt as if every time I got up I'd pass out. Couldn't handle light or sounds. And once I labeled it all as anxiety and started practicing acceptance it went away. I'm doing so much better.
@@Truerealism747information which you are sharing is the reason why there is lot of misinformation on the internet. Nervous sensitization happens due to high threshold of stress achieved which shan has said in many of his videos
I think it's because there's a root cause that hasn't been dealt with, that's my experience, i've never recovered but i feel like it's because i've not gone far back or deep enough, but that'd be draining for the therapist, so i'm not sure it will happen
I was sent he link to watch this… I’ve had anxiety for 27 years, there’s a little too much incoherence here I’m very sorry to say, and in a way anxiety inducing in itself. Anxiety can be genetic or situational, and there is no one size fits all just like many other invisible demons. Everyone needs to do what works for them, it’s great to share what works but I’m so sorry, this was very unhelpful to another fellow anxious person.
I think doctors know that the solution is to do nothing and let it pass. But because doctors are also not psychologists , they try to fix the physical stuff they know about and not the mental. Also , you need to remember that you have to do the work, not the doctor. They can give you medication, but that won’t do anything if you don’t learn how to react to the anxiety.
