Hi everyone! Let me know if you have any questions about materials in Unity in the comments below! :)
I just want to thank you for making this, and say that your videos have the PERFECT tempo for me. Usually I have to pause and rewind tutorials in order to be able to follow along, but with your video it just clicked immediately.
How do you apply a material to multiple objects?
thanks so much for your tutorials. may i ask how to scale a brick texture smaller? currently the brick texture is about 1m by 2 m on the wall, but i need it 0.2/0.06m .. much smaller. thanks :)
BIG QUESTION: how do you stop the textures from stretching with the cubes when applied, I only want the texture to go by the tiling rules and to not follow the game object size.
It won’t let me put the files into unity
I learned sketchup from your videos, and now I'm into game development and I had no idea you also do videos about Unity, this is so great!
ive read several books about materials and textures. it never clicked. I watched your video and it all just made sense. thanks.
this was one of my first tutorial that I've watched to start learning Unity, I was scared as I didn't know nothing, surprisingly everything was clear after trying couple of times, with the time I realized that not all the tutorial about the topic are well explained so thank you a lot for this
You are doing a great job, I got exactly what I need here! Thanks man!
Your different tutorials are really handy! Thank you!
thanks! just the beginner guide I was looking for:D
This video is awesome! Finally I understand what a normal map does. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this! So helpful and straight to the point.
Thanks a lot - your video is a Great start to soft soft. I'm onto it !
Good lord man that was so helpful!! Simple. To the point. Everything, EVERYTHING you said worked! (this is an exception to the rule, while I am extremally grateful to everyone who posts instructional, this was a particularly good example of how to do it properly).
really clear tutorial for beginners! thanks man this help me a lot
Glad it helped!
Thanks for this! So helpful
I hope you get 1 trillion subscribers, YOURE THE BEST!!!!!!
Great introduction to this subject
this was a great tutorial ❤
Very good video, I learned a lot !!
Thank you for making these video for new people to unity
It tells me that the texture is not readable and i cannot find a fix. Even though i copied his steps to a T
Really helpful, thank you!
thank you so much man i got just what i needed to know out of this
really helpful for me, thank you so much
I feel 10x more confident in soft soft, thanks!

Very helpful thanks dude
Excellent video
Thank you bro❤️
Very helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
thank you for the useful information
Very helpful and informative video!
Glad it was helpful!
This was excellent. Do you have any tutorials on setting the materials during runtime?
thank you!!
Thankyou for sharing your knowledge♥
Thank you so much finally i understand
Thanks a lot man
Thank you so much! Appreciated.
Glad it helped!
thanks for the help
This is a guide that is really geared towards zero, it was so helpful for me。 thank you
Thank u very much!!!

:)
Awesome video!
Thanks!
This is so helpful thank you
thanks man
Lifesaver! 😭❤
Thank you so muchhhh
Thanks dude
Thank you so much that’s all I need it now I’m gonna try to make a game might not work Essington though, but at least I tried right
thanks bro regards from Syria
thank u i was useful
work! Cheers
Very helpful video! thumbs up. My current 3d workflow is I model the asset from sketchup and import them to Unity without texture. but im really having trouble applying textured material on curved surfaces and how to make them seamless.
Yeah...SketchUp's UV mapping on curved surfaces can get a bit wonky. Does the texture look ok in SketchUp before you try to go to Unity?
@@TheRealTimeEssentials I import the model with only the default template material (untextured) and do all the texturing and tweaking inside unity. And also the scaling of tile textured applied on imported mesh is kind of off (but this is not much of a problem).
And thanks, I googled and watched some tutorials on UV mapping on unity and other software and its kind of tedious (very) to do. In sketchup, i just make the material "projected" pick an appropriate angle and call it a day haha.
thank you
thanks!
Great tutorial
Thank you!
When I try to drag it out it just doesn’t drag at all can you please help, this really frustrates me because I can’t actually make 3d games without this
thank you so much ~!~!~! I LOVE YOU~!~!~!
thanks a lot!
Thanks for watching!
Exactly
Wow how did you make this so easy to under stand?
Tell me I'm not the only one when he said click on the Albedo. a thousand questions just got answered.
IF you mark seems and stuff in Blender, to make a texture look correct, does unity reflect those seems? or is that reflected in the exported UV maps stuff ?
Great tutorial! But i have a problem with texture sizes. In my project i have a house with different sizes of walls and when i apply the texture size of the image changes. Bigger wall has wider texture. How can i make the same size of texture for all of them?
Hello.
If you have a cube, is it possible to put a different material or texture on each of its faces?
Thanks.
Thanks so much for making tNice tutorials video! You really broke it down well.
Ty
Hello, I have used a google image pic as a texture but I wonder if there is a way to make it look more realistic?Does it cause an error if I mixed a google image pic and a normal map from a different material? Thanks btw you have great content
Google image pics are not typically great textures because they are normally photos with the lighting baked in. If you use a normal map that doesn't align with the albedo map, it often won't make sense from a material standpoint. I can explain more if you are interested.
Is it possible to add a material to one side of an object. For example say I have a ceiling that is a floor for the upstairs of a house. I want the ceiling to have one material and the floor to have another.
When using standard shader it still shows as a pink material. How do we overcome this?
Its attractive how calm tNice tutorials guy is
i change a texture at runtime and replay game in editor the applied texture is saved but not in apk or mobile what should i do
When i do this exactly how you do, it tells me that my texture is not readable when i drag and drop. How do i fix this?
can you do a tutorial about poly havens models
urgent help needed when i try to change tilling in material section i cant adjust there anything , it looks grey, any fix ?
The texture quality seems very low after build even for 4k texture. What may be the reason?
Using urp and building for Android device
Him: "Right-click, create, material."
Me: *Am so annoyed at how dumb I am that I almost drop my phone*
hi there. i used color for my material (i just use color not texture), but in .fdx my color is gone. and i dont get something like "texture" folder or anything. i dont get it, can you guys help me? thanks
Anyone know why my new build material doesn't have the options show like in the video?
great
cheers
:)
Every time I try to drag the images to the folder it doesn't want to work, what am I doing wrong?
So i am going to model in blender and texture in Unity. Sounds much easier than transfering from blender to Unity
how make transparency on material with texture and have good looking image with transparency on material.
Whenever I tried to drag the dirty concrete download into the new “texture” folder it just shows a circle with a like through it saying that I can’t move it there, do you know why?
It has to be a JPG ( or JPEG ) file. You can change it by draggin the image in your desktop, then rename it to (example) : ground.jpg. Make sure that there is only .jpg and not .png.
@@realdowki it is jPg for me but i stil cant do it
whenever I try to download the files, they just downlaod as a jpeg and I cant import them
u can convert them to a png by using file explorer, right click image and click rename then change the 'jpeg' to 'jpg' that should work
how can i create my own materials?
I can’t drag and drop the textures into the texture folder
Neat
+In the setup +inthesetup I am getting a long drawn out static-like soft when I try to listen to the GMS setupe, doing EXACTLY what you
Ok, so any time when I get roughness map do I just have to ignore it and do noting with it, as well as AO maps. Where do they go?
I don't know what this means. Why would you ignore the roughness map?
@@TheRealTimeEssentials I was literally only here to find out where to input the roughness map, @10:48 made me go "noooooooooooo" out loud.
@@EnvyMy75 Maybe try this - ua-cam.com/video/X9RR7DdOwmY/v-deo.html
@@TheRealTimeEssentials That was an interesting editorial choice, to import the diffuse/normal/roughness maps then end the video after applying 2/3 of those to the new texture.
my materials just straight up have no color feature besides a shader feature, why ?
the drag and drop isnt avaliable on windows 11 is there another way to get the texture to unity
You will need to open your project file, then open folder Assets and make any type of texture folder and just drag and drop them there
@@hamran8168 that would require me to drag and drop I cant do that on windows 11
@@aliceopex the drag and drop works in file explorer right? I had win11 for a brief time and that worked fine for me. I upgraded to win10 tho, much better
@@hamran8168 yes it does my bad i thought you meant drop into unity
Whenever I change the shader to standard the materials just turn pink...
not clear on what in this video applies to 2d or just 3d. When I tried making a red material on a 2d square, the square just disappeared
Is it possible by code
Joel Karr to be fair I learnt loads
It won’t let me drag the material
i cant drag materials
the texture streaches and doesnt repeat...
Fan-freakin-tastic.

All I wanted to know is how to play the soft through my headphones with a cord not Bluetooth. I take it tNice tutorials is not an option since I have
It's not really that confusing it just looks like that, because of all the many buttons.
