How Xavier Worthy ran 40-Yard Dash in 4.21 s

- Zavier Worthy broke the NFL Combine record for the fastest 40-yard dash with a time of 4.21 seconds, beating John Ross's previous record by a hair. He cleverly used a unique starting technique, giving him an edge over others. This remarkable feat demonstrates his exceptional speed and creativity. While some compare him to Usain Bolt, Worthy's achievement stands out only in the context of the NFL Combine.

That's sounds like a good theory, but ESPN did a Simulcast and put John Ross and Worthy on top of each other and worthy was ahead slightly. Speed is speed!
he gets ahead from the first stride, exactly what we told in the video. ua-cam.com/video/dRm5ssO9fWU/v-deo.html
This still holds up. They start the ESPN side by side when both lift their hand. Worthy had already started moving the rest of his body at that point, while Ross had not, kind of like getting a moving start.
They scrubbed the CJ2K video simul-cam because his was ahead of Ross’s
@@kylepleban6956 it wouldn't surprise me! at that speed, clock manipulation can easily be accomplished
The timing on the videos have to be aligned with the timing clocks, and the timing clocks start when the hand clears the laser. Obviously, Worthy will be slightly ahead because Worthy's technique starts the clock late.
If Coleman is aware of this technique, he may actually run under 4s or get VERY close to it with RG’s bet.
Hoping Coleman ends up running it again, he probably will since theirs 100k on the line
@@jaredbowen3527Jesus gives eternal life for free
coleman ran 4.12 when he was in college
su bingtian ran a 3.88 in his split record
@@logitechh6514from blocks though
People in the comments need to stop comparing track athletes to football players, they're completely different sports.
Interesting details on the late hand release. Ross trained at my old performance gym in the past. Chris Johnson was 4.23 former record holder. He ran 4.1 before the NFL Combine but put on 20 pounds from 165 like worthy to 185 because as a running back he needed more weight for his position’s draft value.
Bro, Xavier Worthy 10.65, Chris Johnson & John Ross 10.66 PBs are hardly the fastest men ever in the NFL. None of them can run a true 4.2 let alone a 4.1. The 40 yard dash is semiautomatic timed as you see in this video. Proven. It's flawed.
Perspective, the top 5 fastest men in NFL history:
1. Jim Hines 9.95 (Olympic Gold medalist 100m)
2. Trendon Holliday 10.00 twice
3. Jeff Demps 10.01 (Olympic Silver Medalist 4x100)
4. Jacoby Ford 10.01
22. Tyreek Hill 10.19
34. Deion Sanders 10.26
Now I want you to really think about what I'm saying. Do you really believe that Xavier, Chris or John are faster than the top 34 fastest men ever in NFL history?
The NFL 40 yard dash is inaccurate & flawed. A 10.65 guy holds the record now is a freaken joke.
The hand release thing was wrong that’s not how the timer works
@@biggalaxy9102 your note is flawed dude first worthy ran a 10.55 what’s very important is he ran that as a 15 year old sophomore in highschool that’s what changes it the guy could potentially be running a 9.7 or 6.4 times even without running track in college if your going to base solely of times use all times and info like being 15 years old at the time
Smart, but Usain Bolt is 100% faster. No hate to Xavier Worthy, pretty smart technique
absolutely
Wtf that’s what he just said in the video
I mean, you need to remember that he's a football player and doing all of this on top of the demands of football training such as multidirectional explosiveness and agility training, speed training, strength training, endurance training, skill specific training etc. Whereas, someone like Usain Bolt is basically training for one specific activity: sprinting. Like yes, Bolt is obviously faster, but the combined demands of training they go through makes it difficult to excel in any one area, let alone sprinting at an elite level.
So reaching this level of speed while balancing the demands of football training is a remarkable feat of athleticism and dedication. It shouldn't be downplayed. There aren't many people on the planet who can reach this high of a level of an all around combination of athleticism, period, including some of the fastest guys on earth.
And?
Bolt fans try not to glaze bolt in any video that has someone doing smth cool in sprinting challenge (impossible)
Most trainers teach their athletes to do that as long as it doesn’t disrupt their first step.
sure
Magnificent video as always.
Thanks for watching!
@@TheWayToWin it was incorrect though. The electronic timer is started by a human on the first movement of the runner. It’s electronically finished but hand started
@@footba11fan41ife that doesn’t make sense hand timing is inaccuracy and can be manipulated it’s fully electronic and laser timed
@@Messup7654 it’s not fully electronic. Why do you guys like to debate things that can easily be looked up?
Thanks for posting 🎉
Great video!
Thanks for watching!
Xavier "Worthy of a shoe contract"
He did it by putting one foot in front of the other😂
That and bolt had to slow up. This guy got to run through the marker. Bolt probably 4.19 right here honestly
Thats really smart
No the 40 yard dash is really inaccurate & flawed.
@thewaytowin so when you say his start is “unconvential” are you saying he doesn’t have proper mechanics or technique ? How would he have those results ?
He has great running skills and unconventional starting technique.
@@TheWayToWin so he would run even faster with proper starting technique?
@@Pro_Kickzbro did you watch the video😂 first unconventional doesn’t mean I’m proper it means just not normal or just uncommon second his unconventional starting technique allowed him to set a faster time which the guy explained
Not how the combine times work. Hand start electronic stop. First moment they start the clock. Not when the hand picks up
Can u please do an analysis based on su bingtian’s 9.83 100m where he split 6.29 for the first 60m?
6.29 according to NFL timing translates into 4.09 for 40 yard dash
Do we know what Su Binghans 40 yard split using nfl combine timing methods is? Surely much much faster than even bolts 4.09? 🤔
According to one website, Su ran a converted 4.07s 40 yd dash
@@kingdinodragonite3470 according to PJ Vazel he ran 4.31 with his hands leaving the ground 0.22
@@TheWayToWinsince you didnt do the math its 4.09

Its nice he broke the record. Having a very fast 40 does not always transfer to success in the NFL.
Should measure pressure at feet.
I agree
That pressure depends on weight. Shaq will have way more pressure and will finish in 8 seconds.
how fast would he have done it if it was the same start as john ross?
I think 4.25 - 30
@@TheWayToWindude that video where bolt ran a 4.22 is fake lol bolt is faster than that of course bolt can run a 4.0 but that video is fake he ran closer to a 4.5 or 6
@@Messup7654 4.7 I know
Nothing creative here for t&f athletes. We are practicing this starting position. Thus the guy running 4"21 has learned this start from track and field. To the author of this video go on the field to see track and field trainings you'll realize it is the case.
That's not the point of the video. It's a technique that hasn't been used in football. @@myjciskate4 That is exactly the point, there isn't any so called "creativity". The video is totally useless.
@@cfofana4502 It's creative because no one has done it or thought to do it in football. He just beat the 40 yard dash time using that technique. It is absolutely creative to use techniques that are meant for other domains, and contrary to the typical technique, within another domain.
4.09 for Bolt and he was doing a conventional start. Shave off another 0.01 or 0.02 to normalize it.
idont think bolt ran that 40 two years into his retirement. i think he was still active
I recall it was in retirement, still in shape, but retirement.
@@jakemccoy nevertheless prime bolt runs the 40 in sub 4.10 atleast. He had the fastest 60m time in history before su bingtian broke it in Tokyo
An idea on Su Bingtian's 40 yard time from his 9.83? I've heard talks of 4.05
feel like it could be lower. I mean he ran the fastest 60m split
@@TrackFarmerJesus gives eternal life for free
3.88
So John Ross was actually quicker
If you look in an overlay. Ross has a much faster topline speed. Worthy just accelerated and had so much space between from the start that Ross couldn't catch up.
People actually think he came up with that technique? No these guys go to special training camp just to get better combine results, they are coached by experts in the science of combine techniques. Not football skills, just techniques in getting combine results.
why no one else uses this tecnique?
I thought they called that technique the “Franco Harris?”
Was he the first to use it?
World Track and Field… Time Start @ The Feet Not The Hands 🤔 Definitely a Difference
Ross would have gotten like 4.19 or less with this technique.
Not how it works. May throw off his form in the run. It’s way harder than it looks to do that.
@@toddpacker5734That is a training issue. If he could not adjust his form to take advantage of this trick, then he should not be out there playing football. There are much more difficult adjustments he will have to make on the field.
Worthy could prob run like a 10.1-2
He ran a 10.4 in high school
Christian Coleman would probably run 4.12
This is not correct, first of all Usain Bolt’s time wasn’t real. And at the combine they hand start the electronic timer on your first movement. The lasers stop the timer when u cross the last beam.
Usain did his work 30yd -70yds out. He had a top gear no one else had.
What are you trying to say? Bc the facts are, Usain had one of the fastest starts in human history. In fact, he's ranked the 3rd fastest start in history. He ran a 6.31 in his first 60 meters in his 9.58 world.record performance. And had the fastest reaction time in that race. Usain was the fastest from start until finish.
Im sorry, but Xavier Worthy ran a 10.65 PB in hos 100 meters dash. He doesn't have "exceptional speed."
Start testing 40s with full pads on. It's getting out of hand 😂..just like all these one handed catches with the sticky glue spray on the gloves.
Worthy is still RAW. Not the best catcher or route guy.
