I like how the syncopation in positions other than cakewalk position in High Step are confined to the B and D strains. It’s a rag that teases as being a cakewalk, and the trio belongs to the rag by virtue of playing the same trick.
I wish I had learned about ragtime decades ago... Just found the genre a couple of years ago and got really hooked up. They were really lucky indeed. I'm glad we have awesome pianists sill plaing it such as Vincent Johnson, Andrew Barret, Adam Swanson, Max Keenlyside, Kylan DeGhetaldi, Brian Holland, Domingo Manuello, Frederik Hodges, Anthony Sarginson, and many many many others :-)
Thanks for taking this, Edward! Glad we have live versions of Tom playing “Wellington Rag” and these others. He played “Light-House Rag” for me when I bought the sheet music, but I didn’t think to make a recording. So glad you got this one!
I so far only recognize Vincent Johnson in this video. I don’t think I was present for this set (or festival?) although I heard Tom at many other sets many other festivals.
I've tried leaving both my address and Discord and it looks like both have been deleted. I'll try a slightly different approach - "kieran" followed by the name of the instrument that Tom is playing here (all one word, no spaces/punctuation), "at" the service offered by Google followed by dot and a com at the end. @@mavel4782
The sheet music is in one of Tom's earlier folios and is also available on Musescore. Not sure how close to the original score the transcription on Musescore is but it sounds spot on to me
TOM BRIER 2020 ALL LOVE AND HEALING TO YOU
🙏
2022, Tom we’re all here for you! 🙏🏻
I am currently learning Elephant tracks but maaan that speed at the end is just unbelievable! I don’t think I ever will achieve anything like this 🤯
Tom Brier is tops. His playing and interpretation is perfect!

Great player, his interpretation is so awesome! these guests are honestly very lucky to be able to have see this performance in person.

At the time, they didn't know how lucky they were!
A great rag player!

너무 좋네요 감사합니다
Bro that elephant tracks at the end🤯🤯🤯
Thanks for uploading this Ed, a nice insight into some of the lesser known Brier compositions. Especially nice Waltz.
Que gran pianista. Es una gozada oirle
Genial. Es el mejor💗💗
wow, it's a big recording of Tom's performance, so precious!! Thank u for sharing!
The Lighthouse Rag is a real corker. Don't think I've heard any other recordings of that piece, but it's in one of Tom's earlier folios.
Please get well. Don’t give up the ship! We all wish you the best in the future. We miss your great talent.
Amazing!!!
Could be the best video of Tom on UA-cam.
That’s a tall order, but he was certainly audibly on his “A game” in this set.

Do you know of any other recordings of the Light-House Rag? I'm surprised there aren't loads on UA-cam, it's a great piece!
Andrew, is that you on the right? What a privilege it is to see this in person!

I made a couple videos of me playing “Light-House” and might put one up at some point if it’s good enough. I don’t *think* I ever got Tom playing it.
@@andrewbarrett1537 Let us know once you upload it Andrew! Cheers
If only I could play the piano like this, how happy I would be.
So it WAS named after a Wellington piano. Awesome! Wellington pianos were made by the Cable piano Co. in Chicago and were good quality instruments.
I like the Lighthouse Rag
the style is somewhat similar to me
Excellent
I really liked the waltzes.
Tom is literally moving at light speed in Elephant Tracks D strain
We need a link to purchase sheet music for the High Step rag!
I have a .pdf of it. If Not sure if UA-cam filters email addresses from comments but if you are able to reply with your email I'll send it over.
I liked it
👏👏👏👏👏
Does anyone have sheet music for High Step Rag? Sounds very good... :D
I have a .pdf of the High Step rag. If you are able to leave your email address here I can send it over
@@HarmonywwDo you have Discord? UA-cam is filtring e-mails.

Biiiiiiiiiiiien
Es increíble como toca todo perfecto
Nice piano music. What's with the camera shake?
It's a casual video from 2014. This 25-minute raw recorded performance is priceless. I couldn't care less about the shake.
Is there sheet music for the lighthouse rag that he is playing?
The sheet music is in one of Tom's earlier folios and is also available on Musescore. Not sure how close to the original score the transcription on Musescore is but it sounds spot on to me
oh ok, how about the summer echo waltzes?@@Harmonyww
