@@colonialairstream there have been cars behind me so close, my big truck mirrors i can not see them. When i drive , to have windshield space, the display monitor is on my wife’s lap. When backing into site, i mount on my windshield. I also bought furion side cameras also. Back up cameras are now dual purpose. Backing and driving down the interstate, they are a needed safety item now.
Airstream aesthetic is classic. My bathroom preference is a dry bath, dry flush. Glad AS have done away with wooden floors. Less wood, the better. Add an external weatherproof port to plug in the StarLink dish and then it’ll be just about perfect!
Joe, the MSRP of a 2019 Airstream Sport Bambi 16RB was $51,484.00 with the solar package and destination. The price increase was a little over $3,000.00 each model year and there were many product upgrades and enhancements.

Airstream should partner with luxury car brands and do premium models (not just color schemes), using luxury materials for a couple of models of their trailers. Like exotic woods and leather, and different options like the luxury cars. Could charge $200K and more.

Upgraded fancy luxury details like solar panels, weather satellite access, flat screen TVs, and eventually robotic mobility to the next destination while I get there after visiting places that don’t have accommodations for RVs.

They keep going up because people keep buying them at that price. There will be better options and more competition for Airstream in the near future. EV vehicles are coming fast and customers will be looking for lighter options in this 16 foot range. This thing is way too heavy in 2023. Should have all aluminum frame at that price.
No recreational vehicle company comes close to the quality of Airstream. Pricey yes, but if you want the best, Airstream is the brand. Parents had a 23 footer back in the mid/late 60’s lots of camping fun!! Thanks for this walk-thru.

The 3M is too thin, rocks go through. Airstream needs to apply something thicker from the factory. Another $2k for rock shields r pricey, for that price pt. the Caravel is worth a look. Everyone is saying how priceyAirstreams are, other brands are now $40k and higher. Plus they will retain their resale value more than other brands. Everyone loves the Airstream brand, like Apple it's iconic. One will be pleased with their purchase other brands won't hold up their junk within 4 to 5 yrs.
Just picked up a Sunlite 13 db Ltd for $70,000 less. It has a larger fridge, solar, power awning, outside hookup for a BBQ, larger shower and if we decide to get rid of it in 7 years we won't loose 30 to 40 thousand like the air stream. I agree that they are a nice trailer but way overpriced and I can only think that people buy these as a status symbol to show how rich they are.

The original Airstream Bambi 16' was made form 1961-1963, it was replaced by the Bambi II in 1964 and went out of production shortly after. The Bambi was not reintroduced until 1998 and had MSRP pricing in the upper 20's to low 30's.

@@jackfntwist I'm sitting in our 19cb Caravel, looking around, and the only plastic I see is the stereo speakers and the light above the dinnette, on the end of the levers to open the window, and the little bell shaped things to pull down the ocean shades above the sink. Maybe your Airstream is different?
@@jfreeham "UltraLeather" - aka Vinyl is plastic. The overhead storage cabinet sliders are plexiglass, which is plastic... Floors, walls, cabinets, surfaces, upholstery, shower, toilet MIGHT be ceramic, but the lid is plastic. Unless you did a custom rebuild, basically 90% of your Caravel is made of some sort of synthetic plastic product. But who am I to open your eyes.

A few have asked but then many have mentioned that it is silly that the Interstate and Rangeline have bathroom sinks.

I use my Furion cameras when i drive to watch traffic around me on my RV trailer.

You could tow this with an SUV if the GVWR is 3500 lbs. This trailer tempts me so much.
The truck would need a minimum towing capacity of 3500 lbs and a minimum hitch weight capacity of 430 lbs.
