They got rid off the original pirate show because African American people complained it was racist then another reason is because cvs bought rights to build a store basically ruined everything
I miss the old Vegas where the hotel/casinos had something unique out front that would make you stop and watch. Good publicity to draw you into the casino.
Theme park vegas was pretty awesome but in a way it was just a phase. Adult oriented Vegas is still the way vegas must be. That being said. little things like the pirate show should make a return just due to how awesome the spectacle was.
Thank you for sharing this! I'll always miss the original Treasure Island at the Mirage, Battle of Buccaneer Bay Pirate Show. Current Treasure Island is no longer Treasure Island anymore since October 2003. It was nice that MGM ruined Treasure Island and sold it to Phil Ruffin in 2009 knowing that they don't care and know that they ruined the heavily 18th century Caribbean Pirate themed hotel and casino with a romantic tropical island vibe shared with its sister hotel and casino, The Mirage. Now, it is boring and one of the most ugly looking hotel and casino on the strip!
Over the years they have managed to change the Las Vegas that was to something that does not resemble anything like it was which is a shame, sometimes some things are left better off been left alone and The Neon Museum should be a street showing all of the original lights and should be free.
ZandurFox yeah they totally mess up treasure island and I remember I came to Las Vegas to watch this pirate show and especially I remember the Luxor they used to the sphinx laser fountain show and the airport complained to discontinue the show because the pilot interference and dragon show in Excalibur’s and dragon broke down and discontinued too and Las Vegas is not the same anymore
@@Kanjanapisan I agree. The Las Vegas strip is getting more stale, bland, and boring nowadays. Look what happened to the simple and elegant Monte Carlo Las Vegas! The classy French Riveria with fountains, statues, and beautiful architecture had been replaced with a boring and ugly so-called park theme from stupid MGM! Monte Carlo is now the dumb 'Park MGM!' What were they thinking!?
ZandurFox if New York New York get rid off the rollercoaster I’m done with that hotel too! Just like treasure island got rid off pirate show and I’m done going there!
ZandurFox and don’t forget when mgm grand open in 1993 it have a theme park and wizard of oz walkthrough and watch the magic show and Luxor Las Vegas have Egyptian style theme like river Nile boat ride and it also gones and now it’s like garbages
Thank you for posting this. I went to visit my uncle around this time, and this was one of my favorite memories of the trip! I even got a cork gun there. Great memories and awesome to relive this
That legendary pirate marquee was killer. It took some real idiots to decide to remove and replace such a masterpiece of work with the stupid looking ti sign that sits there now.
Visited Vegas for the first time when I was 6 back in the 90s and loved these kinds of attractions about Vegas. Lived there for a year couple years ago and loved all the old memories that came to mind. Unfortunately they're not making Vegas unique anymore. Still a fun place, but not as unique as it used to be.
Back in the days when this show was going, there was no concrete barriers around the strip, and you could walk from one side of the street to the other. I can remember being a teenager driving down the strip at night time with my friend who is older and had a car and people would be standing on the fence and climbing up the gates outside on the road to watch the show
This was real entertainment... Not the crappy "flashy" stuff they have now. I miss the old Vegas. My dad would take me to the strip just to watch this when I was 8/9 years old. I wish I could've done the same for my kids now 😕
I unfortunately live in Vegas and the Strip has gotten more bland and more “modernized” by the day. A lot of the unique themes which drew crowds are gone. Its starting to look like an average city. Boring buildings boring lack of creativity and shit names! This is not LA! And the Raiders coming here hasnt made the situation any better.
It's just a broken down old boat on the side of the road now. I'm wondering if anybody is considering demolishing this relic and building something better?
thanks for upload... such an art, why would not be protected forever, tell me what kind of anger driving you to demolish it, and erase all the memories, may be we can learn...
At least we still have this video. :( To be honest, they got rid of it a long time ago. They replaced it with something that just wasn't the same, and I guess eventually it became uninteresting enough to want to cancel it.
This was the best show in Vegas....AND IT WAS FREE, they should bring it back.
Yes
This made my Vegas trip as a kid. It was my most memorable vacation ever because of this lol.
Thank you
Me too. Core childhood memory
We need this sort of stuff back on the las Vegas strip!
I totally agree
The worst thing Treasure Island ever did was ditch this show for the Sirens of TI and then drop the show out front entirely. Too bad.
They got rid off the original pirate show because African American people complained it was racist then another reason is because cvs bought rights to build a store basically ruined everything
Just negative. Same with Excalibur’s dragon show.
@@StarzzyJJASD cry babies seem to ruin everything 🤦♂️ now they took out splash mountain lol
@@StarzzyJJASD How was the show racist?
@@Freshnewz10 He didn’t say it was racist specifically. But other people did, and you know how that doesn’t make any sense.
I miss going to treasure island for their show their videos are awesome

I wish they had left Vegas the way it was
Thank you for this! Its sad we no longer have it at Treasure Island.
It is very sad and it is sad they have got rid of so many of the old original Vegas!
@@stevemedlin1601 I know 😢
good ole days. my first trip to Vegas and seen that and Volcano. Good times long and gone.
I couldn't agree with you more, they have ruined Las Vegas
I miss this show
Damn i was 4yo, bring back the 90's!!!!
That legendary pirate marquee was killer. It took some real idiots to decide to remove and replace such a masterpiece of work with the stupid looking ti sign that sits there now.
I wish Treasure Island would just bring this show back again and bring back the old skull sign instead of the yellow ti.
Right
Without this show it just isn't Vegas. That show was the highlight of any Vegas trip.

Wow, the ship actually moved and sunk?!
Sounds like someone in the crowd has COVID

The Very Good Old Day's
I wonder how they managed to time the pyro effects so perfectly

Pretty awesome video felt really transported to a different time there
Thank you
thank you
If you watch this with headphones on it's like someone is coughing directly into your ear.
How I MISS this show. Was ALWAYS THE BEST!!!
I do too

I couldn't agree more with you, they should have left alone it was a lot more appealing, better and more enjoyable.
I agree with you. Las Vegas is losing their touch
I agree but want to let you know that anywhere the Raiders are is going to be fantastic! They belong in Oakland though
It's just a broken down old boat on the side of the road now. I'm wondering if anybody is considering demolishing this relic and building something better?
I had the privilege to see this live before lawsuits brought it to an end.
Same
This was still going around 2006 and 2008 I do vividly remember 2003 like how the other comment said
I love the song please somebody can said the name of the song
Back in the day when Vegas was fun and a lot cheaper.
Best show ever on the strip

Ich habe es gesehen, als es gsnz neu war, muß so 1994 gewesen sein. Absolut spektakulär, dieses (schlechte) Video gibt die Show nur anähernd wieder.
Dang why take away the best to leave nothing stay original and quit trying to keep up with the times!!...y'all should bring this back!
I miss this
Leave it to Vegas to literally submerge a ship underwater for a show …. Find memories
Now it's lifeless and boring.
They say the ships are still there but the one that's moving doesn't move anymore
In think that is right, we haven't visited for a few years now but will go back soon again.
I saw this once and they had to cancel due to an accident, I think it was in 95 or 96
I remember seeing something about that.
No it’s because blacks people were complaining the pirate ship was about slavery and racist that’s the reason
@@stevemedlin1601 yeah

And thus the Burning of Washington was avenged
