    Dica Fácil para quando (a) for igual a (1);
    x² + 4x + 1 = 0
    *x² = - 4x - 1*
    Fórmula __ *X = b/2 + - ^[ (b/2)² + (c) ]*
    X = - 4/2 + - ^[ (- 4/2)² + (- 1)
    X = - 2 + - ^[ 4 - 1 ]
    X = - 2 + - ^[ 3 ]
    *X' = - 2 + ^[ 3 ]*
    *X" = - 2 - ^[ 3 ]*
    Parabéns Professora, sucesso sempre.

    A good exercise is to solve ax^2 + bx + c using competing the square to derive the quadratic formula.

    Why don't you use an area model, so that the traditional approach makes more sense? There's also the Po-Shen Loh method that makes this easier to conceptualize -- and makes the Quadratic Formula make more sense.

      Thank you for the suggestion. This lesson is part of the college Algebra course that I teach. Many students need to learn how to complete the square for their Algebra 2 class as well so I'm hoping this video will be of help to them. That's the fascinating part of math! So many ways to solve it. Thanks for leaving a comment.

      @@yesicandomath7226 You're welcome. According to the research, the majority of people (about 65%) are conceptual math leaners. They work their way through math problems, using logic -- not by memorizing processes. Without being taught said logic, they are "dead in the water," so to speak. If you check out the Po-Shen Loh method, you will see the connections to the Quadratic formula. Once you get used to it, you're able to do a lot of it in your head.
