@@theunknown1760 for a little, notice how apple keeps going up and down. Microsoft stays steady for the most part, and as long as people want computers or a console, Microsoft will exist, and they will make bank. Apple can sell cheap shit all they want, it's just gonna hurt their luxury image. Microsoft has never been luxury, it's been necessity. People need an OS and Microsoft delivers. What I don't understand is that (I believe) Merck and Pfizer are more German than American. This brings up the whole debate when you have multinational corporations like these, what is home? I mean Apple has more employees in China than they do North or South America for that matter.
Yeah good point they are definitely worldwide entities but there’s no doubt that Apple, Microsoft, Google, and the pure evil that is Facebook are American companies
@@StreetComp They definitely got there start in America, but I don't think that makes them American anymore. I think Nike has its headquarters in Oregon if I'm not mistaken but they don't manufacture virtually anything in the US. Not to mention a lot of times these companies offshore their headquarters to avoid paying taxes, so the company is American in name only

All these companies exploit resources or their workers in one way or another, whether it is their factories or other functions (natural resources, pollution, animal testing, minimum wages, data which collection is on morally gray area). Would also like to see they are measured with other meters than just money. Markets are so full of narrative such as stories and images that it is very difficult to recognize where is the truth, where is the stretched truth and where is the lie.
@@smokyislay You can't produce much without exploiting resources. Turning plain stuff and human talent into goods and services people want is what took us from subsistence farming to modern-day prosperity.

I’m surprised that Google and Amazon settling near the top was such a recent development!
@Vengeance To be fair nearly every school and workplace has Windows. So that's a lot of revenue right there.
In 1998 Microsoft had to actually invest money into apple so that they wouldnt go under as it was their only true competition and they were going through a lengthy court process about their monopoly and anti competitive behavior. Theres a famous video of bill gates getting pied in the face by someone as he left? Court i think.
So microsoft did such a good job of establishing dominance in the PC market that even today, its still mainly microsoft. Considering they now have azure cloud and are investing heavily in backend operations, they will 100% still be top 3 in the next 20 years as they work into taking market share from companies like cisco, google and Amazon with their latest products. Microsoft will always have the edge as they operate the user experience, its familiar to people its expected an office will be running win10, its so easy for them to rope a business into their eco system.
@@Jockuptown good points. Apple may be attempting to corner the home user market with tablets and such (and even then, I'm not certain they surpass Samsung right now) but Microsoft will probably have the edge on the world at large for a while. I keep hoping that antitrust laws will go after Amazon next...
Kinda seems like they've been there forever huh?
Amazon sold for many years at cost or a loss to get big.. and then well you know.

Pfizer in 2020 making covid vaccine: Im about to restart my career

How can we trust a vaccin made in only ~year?. Any drugs or vaccin with no long term studdies is not worth the risk. In 4-5 years, then it might get my trust, if it is 100% confirmed that it doesnt change anything in the body. H1N1's vaccin made some people sick because no long term studdies had been made.
And compagnies like pfizer being in top companies worth.... A phone company like Apple being of the top players is normal (with time, phone gets old and you need a new one, which costs few hundreds of bucks), but a company that makes stuff to save people's life being a top company worldwide.... Sorry but no. At some point, to be in the top, companies need to sacrifice quality to increase benefits. In this case, sacrificing quality of something people get in their body like a vaccin, not for me.

I happened across an article about Steve Jobs coming back to Apple. I was a young, poor, PC user, but I was familiar with Apple. I distinctly remember, after reading that, thinking, "I should buy Apple stock".
Did I? No. And there were several "I should buy "x" thoughts in the future and I never did it. Oh well, such is life.

Well I was going to but Tesla stocks before 3 years when I heard about Elon, Did I buy? No😔

If only there was information about historical companies. Companies like Dutch East India would be absolute monstrosities.
Zz.zZ They were purportedly worth an equivalent of $7.9 trillion in their heyday.
@Manuel Espinosa Yeah one of the incredibly big companies too, worth about 1+ trillion before it's break up. Nothing today even compares.
They owned an entire god damned country
And blackrock group is even bigger than all of those combined. (Assets under management wise that is)
Weird how no one talks about that..
Zz.zZ The East India company would have had an even greater market cap in comparison to the Dutch VOC, particularly after they defeated them and gained many of their assets. It would be astronomical even in today’s standards.

@@acestriker413 Yes they do. Microsoft is an American company just as Nintendo is a Japanese company.
@LegoGuy87 sure! But the US market is still the biggest in terms of dollar value. For instance, 43.9% of US mobile sales are Apple smartphones. The US market also pays more for advertising/goods. Amazon, Facebook and Google earn more in the USA than anywhere else. That's fact!!
@LegoGuy87 Well of course, but it's still an American company and nothing can change that.
