Hi Diane, so this is always a in a little bit of a state of flux with how the local government there wants to process visas. Typically the standard is that you can either get it yourself prior to sailing, or your cruise lines guest services team can process it for you in advance of the day, which the last time i sailed there was around $35USD i believe. It is done onboard though, rather than shoreside when you step off the ship. That process is much more common in ports in Japan, Korea and China. To play it safe, i would recommend checking with your cruise line in advance, and if they can do it onboard, that would be the easiest option for you. I hope that helps!
Thanks for the information! I have been so interesting in the changes over the past 10 years. Some i like, some i wish were left as they were. I used to love the old Otres Beach!
Hi Jack! It is around 4 miles / 6km. Just outside the port gate you will find lots of Tuk Tuk drivers that can give you a ride there. $5-10 USD will get you there, might take a little negotiating. Normally cruise lines provide shuttles from the ship to the port gate as it is quite far.
@@dockeddiscoveries Yes it's a beautiful place, but I'm disappointed with the new construction in Sihanoukville, the spirit of the town disappered sadly 😔
Agreed. Although it seems such a tough situation to be in with the back and forth on the type of development. I’ve seen it go from a backpackers haven where tourism $$$ stayed locally, to deals being struck with overseas governments for investment, only for it to be abandoned. I have met so many lovely people in Sihanoukville, and I only wish the best for everyone! I do miss the old Otres Beach though before it got torn up….
Hello 👋 from cambodia 🇰🇭
Hello! Can’t wait to be back hopefully sometime next year!
Hi just wondering if you can get a visa on arrival at the Sihanoukville autonomous port after exiting a cruise ship?
