      There wasn’t on our last visit to Osaka, but it had been a couple of years ago now. If anyone is going to do it, Japan is the space! If not, all over the country you can find temporary SIM cards if you need wifi for travel for maps, train connections etc. just make sure your phone is unlocked from a set network!

      You're welcome! I you are a little uneasy about the port and your surroundings, we would definitely advise taking the private transport route rather than the train, which still makes for a cost effective day. Everyone feels safety differently, and it's important to make sure that you make the best choice for yourself to enjoy your time!

    • @dockeddiscoveries
      @dockeddiscoveries 5 місяців тому

      Hi Judy, yes, 3 hours would be plenty of time. It is a fairly compact area, the main factor here is that it isn't flat, just in case there are any mobility concerns within your group. I would say.3 hours though is perfect- you won't feel rushed at all with that amount of time. Enjoy the trip!

    Hi just wondering if you can get a visa on arrival at the Sihanoukville autonomous port after exiting a cruise ship?

    • @dockeddiscoveries
      @dockeddiscoveries 11 місяців тому

      Hi Diane, so this is always a in a little bit of a state of flux with how the local government there wants to process visas. Typically the standard is that you can either get it yourself prior to sailing, or your cruise lines guest services team can process it for you in advance of the day, which the last time i sailed there was around $35USD i believe. It is done onboard though, rather than shoreside when you step off the ship. That process is much more common in ports in Japan, Korea and China. To play it safe, i would recommend checking with your cruise line in advance, and if they can do it onboard, that would be the easiest option for you. I hope that helps!
