Mick Dines, worked with Orange Amplification from 1968 to 2000. He used his experience as a touring bass player to make the company’s cabinets solid and robust. He also introduced the characteristic ‘Basketweave’ front, the material which helped define the distinctive ‘Orange ‘ tone. Dines’ knowledge of the bass guitar was instrumental in the company’s move into the bass amp market with the introduction of the fabled 2x15” Reflector Cabinet using the most up to date parabola design featuring two massive 15” back to back speakers to maximise volume.
We filmed this interview with Mike Dines, at the Orange HQ, as one of a three-part series interviewing some of Orange amps' first and most influential employees.

I had the great pleasure of working with Mike for a year or so in the late 90s and he's one of the nicest, most courteous of guys you could ever hope to meet. Nice one Mike. Great to hear your voice again. cliff (not cooper 😂)..

I still hope one day Orange will do a second, more "lightweight" 4x10 for bass, like they did for guitar with the PPC412 and the CR-Pro412. In this day and age 50 kilograms seems kinda outdated.
