I'm such a slacker when it comes to you tube. But I just found your page and I'M LOVING IT! Thanks for the great videos. I went looking for the dies at Tuesday Morning, but I couldn't find many - and I hit all 7 in my area. I found some doubles and I'm hoping to trade with someone. Anyway, thanks again for all of the information you provide. I'm going all the way back, watching all of your videos. Have a blessed weekend!
Thanks so much for sharing this; Ditto on the tip for embossing Anna Griffin dies. I learned the hard way not to use the embossing mat for those beautiful dies, which are so much thicker than your average intricate dies, like Spellbinders, etc. The paper shims are the way to go! I absolutely love the Gemini (the full sized model, 'cause I like larger cards and have many large dies as well). The Gemini is now preferred as I have developed joint and RSI issues over the years, but I refuse to give up on die cutting & embossing!! LOL
I like the upside down star, I'd totally make a card with it upside down. I like these demo's, I don't have a die cut machine, but I love seeing how the diecuts are made.
I enjoy your videos. My Gemini is due to arrive tomorrow!! I'm very envious of any/all Crafters Companion dies you've found at Tuesday Morning. I have 3 in my area and have never seen any CC product. Keep doing great CC videos. Thanks!
Thank you so very much for doing this one!!! I always learn so much for you. I love how you give great detail in your videos. I'm going to try that Happy Birthday die again and hope mine comes out this time!! I also cut through my embossing mat. My husband went to Home Depot and cut me a piece of shower pan liner-rubber mat. It works like a dream. It's a hair thicker than our original embossing mat. Works great. Thank you again, You Rock!!
Hi Nancy, great idea. Would you kindly provide your sandwich using the Home Depot shower pan liner-rubber mat? I purchased some myself because my CC rubber mat was sliced through the first time I used it. Thank you again!
Thank you for your very informative Gemini video, I really enjoy watching your videos. I finally got to order a Gemini on HSN August 30th show. I just received my Gemini and I have been cutting my Anna Griffin dies to make all kind of embellishments. Although I have used my machine for only two weeks, I needed to purchase replacements for my clear cutting plate, magnetic shim, plastic shim and rubber embossing mat. I purchased my replacements from Crafters Companion website at $14.95 each (less than Amazon or eBay). I wanted to share this information with you and your views.
Thanks so much! I got the Birthday Flowers create-a-card die in a mystery box and couldn’t figure out how to use it. I had no idea I was supposed to use it on a scored card base!
Just bought the Gemini and it’s driving me up the wall!!!! Had bought the Anna Griffin dies with embossing. The die is eventually cutting with extra paper shims but embossing is hopeless. Wish I’d watched your video before using my embossing shim for the AG die as my mat is a total candidate for the trash !!! Thanks for your video - straight forward and informative.
Thanks for showing the mistake card. You could use it that way & most people wouldn't know. But you taught us the importance of correct placement of our dies.
Thanks so much for sharing - my Gemini just arrived and you have been a great help before I open and get started. I saw the dies at Tuesday Morning and will go purchase without reluctance now.:)
Great demo, I was able to understand better than the others that I had tried. I do not have the dies from Tuesday morning; however I do have the gemini dies ..
Great. Thanks so much for responding. I'll try your method and see if the machine sounds better. Had a thought. Maybe since the embossing mat is cut with the AG dies would the cuttlebug mat work instead? I know she includes them in her dies. I I love her things and have a few from HSN. Fun getting those pieces of paper out of that BD does! Lol. You're the best!
Would love to fine these dies now. I wasn't card making yet or even aware of Crafters Companion. Super demo my dear. TYFS. Any idea where I might be able to find these dies now?
I'm still looking for the "perfect" combination. I can't emboss any AG dies without leaving the "dots" on the paper that is supposed to be where you poke out your cardstock.
Thanks for the not using the embossing mat to emboss using Anna Griffin dies. What type of embossing mats do you recommend using when embossing with AG dies? And can cutting plates from other machines such as Sizzix be used with the Gemini and vice versa? Where did you get your base cutting plate, do you recommend getting one or is using one of the plates that comes in the box sufficient for a cutting plate?
I love your videos! I do not have a die cut machine YET . I see all the die cut crumbs on your desk... I was wondering if the dryer sheets hack works with the Gemini ? After looking at a video it looks great if it works... Can you do a video testing it ? please
Hi, my name is Gloria. I'm really glad I found someone who knows how to use Anna Griffith. I just her tool and I ordered four edge dies. I was on the sale, so I'm not even what I'm getting. I've about Anna Griffith for years. Just been able to find her dies. I'll get them this next week. I have a Big Shot and a electric Vagabond machine. I'm looking into another electric machine that will larger card stock. I see your using Gemini? I don't really want o work with all those pads. Give me a brief education about your machine, please. I heard you say NOT to use Anna's dies in your machine? Even if you don't response, Thank you for taking the time to read my text. Have a great evening.
I've been going back and forth for a couple a days, finding a little here and there not much at all. I did go to Michaels today I find a lot of the 80% stuff on sale. Thanks for sharing
I am thinking of getting a Gemini. I am doing 55 mother's day cards with 3 layers of intricate dies. This gave me the idea that I might want a Gemini. I too have a tool n one. Are intricate dies easy to "weed" after 1 pass on it? I make 600 to 800 cards a year. My husband is afraid that gears will be stripped in a year or two. Your opinion? I LOVE my big shot!!!! I am going to be doing another set of 50 cards with these three layers of intricate dies. They are A2 size. It looks like I could put all of them on the Gemini at a time. True? Thank you.
I have just ordered a gemini but haven't had a chance to use it, it arrived just before I went on a thanksgiving trip. I am looking forward to making Christmas cards with it. My question is can you use or have you ever used two of your create a card dies at the same time and embossed with one of them. Do you recommend for other crafters either new or experienced to do that?
Hi iv had my. Machean for about 1year I started to emboss .things were going ok in till i put my sandwich in when and the macheen got stuck and it would go foreword or back they were stuck in the macheen nothing would work so my hiss and had to pull the plates out will this happen agen i am terrified to use my macheen can you please help love Faith xxx
Did you go thru HSN about the mat or Gemini? I did the same thing to my mat. Can you use the mats from cuddlebug or you think they are too thick? Thanks so much for the video. Helped a lot!
CraftsBayou I got it to try it and see how well it worked. The Gemini quality is not what it was when it first came out- particularly the plates. I actually have been using the Empress since I got it. Haven’t pulled out my Gemini since my JR got stuck last year. I did buy the teal JR last craft day, but it’s still in the box, shouldn’t have bought it.
@@poetspice Thanks for the reply. I still have my original Gemini but have been so disappointed with the plates, too. I just feel like I bought large AG dies for no reason since I'd have to buy another machine to emboss. I'm gonna test them with a thicker rubber mat from another company to see if that will work. Just so frustrating. Thanks, again!
I told Donna a couple weeks ago that I needed to send you some money so when you buy dies for yourself you can just buy me some at the same time ... love you
Thank you. I left out the embossing step and was so disappointed in the die because the word birthday looked awful. Duh!! It will be perfect once I also emboss it.
could you do a video showing the plates coming out of the Gemini? like a close up showing how its supposed to come out when you don't hold onto it thank you!!!
If you look in some of my other Gemini videos you can see it coming out the back. However, I would not recommend just letting it pop out. The plates will actually NOTY just sit in the machine.
+raggedyanna6 you don't have to hold on to the plates as they go through the machine, however once the plates are through , they will clatter to the table if you don't catch it.
I wish I'd watching this video before I tore up my pad trying to emboss with an Anna Griffin die. I found that I can order extra metal shims, clear plastic pieces and rubber mats at Amazon Prime.
peachess creme I have one now and I'm not really that impressed with the Scan n Cut. It's good for cutting out stamped images, but not much else that I do.
+poetspice yeah it cut right through the paper too. I used an impressions mat do not have AG dies. I thought it was my mistake because it was ment for metal embossing and not metal dies.

I think I have a duplicate Happy Birthday die if you want to trade!
Thank you Mary. I appreciate the offer. I do have the Happy Birthday die, though. Have a wonderful weekend.
Aww thank you! I'm glad you're watching!
Have fun! It's so cool knowing a subbie binge watches! Woot!

Great demo Jami, you were happening way before paper crafting was a twinkle in my eye, Tyfs. Luv n hugz.
Bonnie Tait thanks chicky. Yeah. I’ve been making cards a long time even before I knew anything about a die.
Just bought the Gemini and it’s driving me up the wall!!!!

Apple Aisbitt thanks! Glad to help.
Way cool. Very good instructions. As a beginner, this makes things so clear to me. Your the best. God Bless!
Thanks for showing the mistake card. You could use it that way & most people wouldn't know. But you taught us the importance of correct placement of our dies.

I bought a couple of those create-a-card dies but hope they will work with my Big Shot. That Gemini is the bomb! tfs hugs, Kristina

I just bought mine today. Thank you for sharing.
This helped me a lot. I thought it would be easy and quick. Made my mind up not getting it now. Glad to not waste my money as it seems confusing.
You really shared some wonderful tips! Thank you!!
This was the coolest thing I have seen! Love it! Hopefully in the future I can find this machine and buy it. Thanks for sharing, cards look beautiful.

I used the mat that was sent with the Anna dies, but I didn't really pay much attention. I'll have to do it again see what happens.
Thanks for so much information......that Gemini is a monster......I love it.......and of course your dies....TFS
It is fab! It was on hsn August 30th. It sold out again!
Hi
I have an elecric big shot and I bought the create a card plates from QVC. Can I use those in my Big Shot?? Thank you, Esther
Also how do use the gemini extender, I think you mentioned if I do not have the jr.
Would love to fine these dies now. I wasn't card making yet or even aware of Crafters Companion. Super demo my dear. TYFS. Any idea where I might be able to find these dies now?
What a cool machine! I've never seen this system before (yeah, I'm out of it) and it looks like fun! So many neat dies. Debbie :)
It's only been out since july6. It's only been available retail for a couple weeks but they sold out uber fast. So not a lot of people have it.
I tried my "Happy Birthday" again after your video, PERFECT!!
Awesome! So glad to help!!
Great tips What embossing mat should you use for the Anna Griffin dies?
I'm still looking for the "perfect" combination. I can't emboss any AG dies without leaving the "dots" on the paper that is supposed to be where you poke out your cardstock.
Sarah Davies made a recent video on how to emboss with the AG dies here on You Tube.
Sometimes you may not have to do any extra embossing. You can try adding a couple sheets of paper under your die. I'll experiment and do another demo.
Thanks for the not using the embossing mat to emboss using Anna Griffin dies. What type of embossing mats do you recommend using when embossing with AG dies? I actually have the Tool in One so I don't need the dryer sheet trick. I do use it on my Cuttlebug though.
+poetspice Thanks.

LOVE your Gemini videos!!!! what A top plate is that?? please share where I can get one thank you thank you!!!
Thanks. Glad to help. I love this machine.
This is a Craftwell A plate. It came with the Cut n Boss, but you can order them on Amazon.
do you find they hold up better then the Gemini one? wonder when the replacement plates will be out thank you so much!
+raggedyanna6 I'm not sure yet. I just started using the Craftwell plate today. It seems to be doing alright.
I purchased Gemini replacement plates from Crafters Companion website for $14.95 each plus shipping - Amazon & eBay have replacements costing more.

My Gemini didn’t come with the birthday card die. I searched for die sire dies but can’t see one like it. Any suggestions please?
Wow just beautiful
Thanks!
Did you get the Empress because there's no good sandwich for embossing AG dies?
CraftsBayou I got it to try it and see how well it worked. The Gemini quality is not what it was when it first came out- particularly the plates.

CraftsBayou If the mat isn’t as thick as an AG mat, the dies will still probably cut through.
poetspice gotcha...I think it may be as thick...it’s an old Spellbinders one. Gonna test it out till I get an HSN coupon I can use for the AG one. 😉
I have the Happy Birthday die and it does not cut well. The I and R do not emboss and cut properly.
Do you know if you can use Anna Griffin mix and match embossing folders? They are a thicker folder
carol williams I don't have one. However, I believe so. Probably use the thinnest plastic plate and the A plate.
Just found your videos so haven't seen all of them. I see you have cuttlebug and gemini. Which one do you like best?
Ginal Pitts Gemini !
poetspice thanks! 😊
hey poet..... great video....do u have a cuttlebug..... if so.... can u show how to cut those dies with a cuttlebutg.......ty
Hi. Yep I do have a Cuttlebug. You would cut it the same as other thin dies. I have a Cuttlebug diecutting video up already.
Here is the link to one ua-cam.com/video/8IZmbeM9VU8/v-deo.html
Great Tutorial! TFS!!
Thanks chicky
I told Donna a couple weeks ago that I needed to send you some money so when you buy dies for yourself you can just buy me some at the same time ... love you
I tell people the same thing! Lol
What weight paper do you use?
You mentioned that the Gemini won't emboss Anna Griffin dies with emboss shim.....how do you emboss them? Thanks
If you try to emboss an Anna Griffin die with the rubber mate it will cut through it. If you add a sheet or two of extra card stock, it'll emboss.
So we have to add an extra layer of card stock when using Anna Griffin dies. Correct?
Thank you. I left out the embossing step and was so disappointed in the die because the word birthday looked awful. Duh!! It will be perfect once I also emboss it.

Mags Nash no problem. Hope it helped :)
How big is the cutting surface? 8.5 x 11? 8x10?
almost 9 x 12
you said not to use the rubber mat, what do I use, I tried one of mine and it did cut a little through as you said
Jeannette S. Riddick to emboss an Anna Griffin die, use the Anna Griffin embossing mat.
@@poetspice thanks I am not using te Anna Griffin die, what do I use for other dies. I think I am using gemini dies
