Great deets. You can also use the failed armbar to set up the omaplatta/triangle combo, and also if you can’t get your legs in front of your opponent because they are basing down, you can bail to a single leg or dog fight position.
I remember having that same experience with a lot of the seemingly goofy techniques from “Into the Lion’s Den” that I now use frequently with a lot of success: the rolling hammerlock, the half Boston crab, for example.
That last little roll snippet reminded me of the R.E.M. lyric: "a simple prop to occupy my time". (No offense to the blue-belt brother. I know the feeling.)
I need this because I am the 130 lb female (a.k.a. the little 'guy') who needs alternative ways to escape side control, mount, etc from the big guys who just put too much pressure on me for the usual techniques to work.
Seeing the ending with it in sparring is fantastic! Great tutorial for what I suspect is a high level counter yet you make it seem easy!!! Thank you

hey, it's coach ramsey! it would be really cool to see you interview stephan kesting.
Very nice, looks like it's adaptable to solo drill with grappling dummy/heavy bag as well (to an extent). Thank you both!
This really works

@3:34: Looks like Stephan's best move might be to move straight to N/S. (I'm a looong way from a black belt; just saying my first intuition there.)
Mameeeeeeeees!!!!! That’s awesome.
Es muy bueno!!!! OSS!!!
I'm over 40. I'm not doing this.
Get your yoga on.
you can do it!
I suck at wrestling but my favorite and most successful takedown came from the mentioned book by Ken Shamrock.
