Al, thank for really going into some detail about how you grew up and how through travel you were able to turn your life around and make something of yourself. Maybe through the gift of travel other disadvantaged children might also be able to turn their lives around. So please people listening to these videos try to give a little something or maybe even 100 British Pounds if at all possible. Let’s try to get our friend Al over his fundraising goal. I found that by making my donation in Pounds that there were no currency 💷 exchange charges.
Oh I am choked up…. yes I can totally relate. When you said, “That was for everyone else”. My childhood was poor also. I grew up near Banbury, England. Then in the 80’s, hiking & camping was pretty cheep, and all that I could afford. But I came alive outdoors! And my children certainly benefited from it! My daughter now works for the Forest Service/ Wildfire! And my Son is an avid backpacker / and winter snowmobile guide. Bottom line, the Outdoors is the best medicine for any person or child, and builds amazing character. If you can climb a Mountain….. you can do anything :-) - British Gal living in Wyoming.
It's great to hear that you got out of good ol' rock 'n' roll Banbury. What a life you must have had. I bet it doesn't compare to people you know back home.
