It's really analog SP! Most of my SP tapes look like this, I think the most important thing is to have a good recording source and not a copy with several generations. In the first copy generations SP looks the same as Digibeta to me
@@TVperson1 On this tape I don't know the VTR used as it wasn't recorded by me. I record most of my tapes on my UVW-1800P or my BVW-70P. One important thing for good results on Betacam is to use component video as source, not composite. This makes a huge difference.
@@eudatux23 Yeah, I use component. But my UVW-1800P records with a lot of noise, perhaps it needs servicing, but the UVW-was the low end, PVW- was somewhere in the middle. Generally the BVW- records the best picture with the lowest noise as the BVW- machines are the highest spec and because Betacam SP is analog, it really comes down to the machine used. Your BVW should give you a the best quality, the 70p only lacks the slow motion and dynamic tracking of the 75p
@@TVperson1 I think that your UVW-1800P needs service. In terms of picture quality I don't see any difference between the machines. Audio quality of coure is another thing as only the BVWs support AFM audio in addition to LNG. If I need dynamic tracking on analog SP tapes, I just put them into the DVW-500P, which supports dynamic tracking when playing analog tapes, really cool to use use even very slow speeds without the picture getting out of sync. Here is an example of what the simple UVW-1800P can do. I recoded it via component from DVD and there is no real difference to the source: ua-cam.com/video/OOF4LwcKa-U/v-deo.html Greetings Alexander
Sure, but: UA-cam only assigns a VERY low bitrate to 480p, so upscaling makes it actually look better on UA-cam. Outside of UA-cam you are absolutely right!
@@eudatux23 I agree , my nephew showed me a 480p video on youtube , full screen on a 32 inches TV , the quality was breathtaking , with lot of details and good audio quality . he wasn't the uploader of the video , so we had no explaination on how a 480p video looked similar to a 1080p video . can I achieve that with my full HD camcorder in settings ?
Das Video ist ja klasse!

This looks like Digital Betacam, not Betacam SP. There is no noise or drop outs that would typically be present in an analog recording.

@@eudatux23 Oh ok, were they made on a BVW-75 or something?

upscaling low resolution video doesn't actually convert it to real HD video , it just stretch the video and never gives detailed pictures
