0000 steel wool has a hardness of 4.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. Glass is a 5.5. So if your glass is clean and you're using fresh, unrusted, uncontaminated 0000 steel wool, the steel wool will not cause scratches by itself.
just use mothers mag and aluminum polish and a geeen skuff pad .elbow gress .then reg window cleaner water spots gone.and no it will not scratch your glass.its the only thing iv found that really works.only for glass
I was actually wondering the other day if the mag polish would work. I've got a 98 mustang cobra that has water spots on the front and rear windshield which makes visibility at night time a pain in the ass.
Hard water spot removal is etched into glass therefore an abrasive method is required for removal. Using abrasive methods come with the territory of micro marring / swirling. Simply run it back with a finishing polish to refine the swirls
@@user-uk5jv8yz1x no it doesn't if your windows are free of dirt and contaminants it will not scratch; glass is so hard and quad 0 steel wool is so fine its impossible to scratch the glass it's like trying to scratch a diamond with an eraser

Hi, I just tried the steel wool method. Water spots are now gone, but now I see a lot of small scratches… Any ideas?
Never use Steel Wool for cleaning Glass , it can scratch the UV Protection Film , use Professional Glass Cleaning Liquid with Lintfree cloth instead!

Steel Wool can scratch UV Protection film from Glass , just use Professional Window Cleaner Liquid with lintfree cloths!
