US legal processes are quite a pain in the ass. You seem to be unaware of the h3h3 story, where the lawsuit costed them hundreds of thousands of dollars (even though they won) and about two years of being on the nerve. Ethan gained fucking grey hair and his personality changed significantly, you can see that.
You could argue that Felix has much more resources and possibilities to demolish that prick, but you couldn't rely on him making that decision even if he wanted to (and he's not that kind of person).
It is much easier for him to gather his fans and fellow UA-camrs and ask to boycott everything that guy (and all who agree and support him) does. That would mostly be a symbol of outrage though, since it wouldn't ruin those people' lives.
Hope you get what I'm saying, and nobody cares anyways, so I won't keep theorising.

As a game developer myself, i actually heard about this incident via twitter, through my gamedev related feeds. I had never watched any pewdiepie videos prior to that moment, and i was 'kind of' on Seans side on the matter to begin with, my thoughts being that a public figure who has that many viewers and influences children should not be spouting racial hatred. However...
I did not agree with the DMCA takedown request being used for the reasons he gave, it really is wrong. I then went through to find pewdiepies video on this 'racial hate' and discovered a really great guy. It has become obvious to me that there is no 'racial hatred' here, a word slipped out, yes it was a bad word, but context matters (as i see has been used before, yes i have watched many pewd videos now)
So in the end, i wanted to be on Seans side, he is a fellow developer and it feels like we should stick together, but what he did was wrong, and PewDiePie has gained 1 subscriber out of it, keep it up Pewd, i love your vids :)

Pewds was really gentle on this one. He had the power to, I kid you not, straight up destroy this man's career. He was attacked with no legal nor moral grounds, and yet, he chose the pacify route and take it to the face, even go as far as to say this was his fault. And I also liked the fact that he gave appropriate warnings to the developer that if they continue to try harming him, he will fight back. Nothing but respect, man. This was clearly a misuse of the DMCA takedown from the company. He should no better to use it in this fashion. The penalty for making a false DMCA claim could be as high as $150,000 or more if you can prove actual losses. I had a person falsely claim a Facebook video as their own and it took over a month to get it back up. People who misuse these laws need to pay a heavy penalty.
FunFoods also what he's doing of "encouraging other to do so" is illegal, "Damaging else's image in pro of a personal benefit" is how this would fit on the libel law .

I agree 100% this guy Vanaman could've asked PDP to take the video down but he didn't. Not only did he try to ruin his career and livelihood but he also abused the copyright system by claiming something that didn't break any copyright law even after he even privatized the video. If he didn't want to have association with him anymore, fine, he is in his own right to do so, he only needed to ask but abusing the copyright law is not the way to do it. I say follow this to court. They deserve it.
I don't blame him for that mistake, gaming does bring the worst in us and many of us are guilty of similar mistakes. However, his childish mistakes are screwing over so many other smaller channels via adpocalypse 2.0. I'm sorry but I feel difficult to support pewds because of the latter reason :(

They are stupid though. Many of the games I've played, I did so because of seeing others play it and/or videos of it. I think the case is the same for a substantial proportion of the gaming public. Furthermore, If a company is unhappy with their content being contained and used in videos on youtube or otherwise, they need only send notice to the person(s) responsible and request they are taken down. If ignored, then take further action. Pewdiepie is a decent and reasonable person, and would respect the developers wishes. This action was carried out because of jealousy and to use pewdiepie's popularity to try and further promote their games by causing this whole debacle. STUPID behavior.
The thing is, everyone has skeletons in their closet. Everyone has done something they really regret in their lives. For Vanaman to DMCA you over this after he's benefited heavily from the exposure and revenue you've given his game is far more deplorable and evil than what you said that triggered this.
Regardless of the legality of his actions, it will have completely poisoned his company's worth and his name in the eyes of many. In fact, it might have been a finishing blow committed on themselves. Besides the fact many people will simply never purchase anything from them; Many people will likely never feature their games if they don't feel they're "PC enough" for them.

developers like this are ignoring how lucky they are to have people with such huge influence freely advertise a game. I would argue that this gives so much hope to new devs that probably target pewdiepie to play one of their games just solely for the promotion. Let's plays are a win win situation in most cases. IF the UA-camr gets enough views on a video then it's a win but if they only let's say get 10k views on a firewatch video and 100 people put of the 10k decide that they want to play the game for themselves then that's a huge win for the dev while for the streamer or youtuber they only get like 10 dollars vs the thousands of dollars that the dev gets Which would have never been if that lets player wouldn't have made the video. To me as a youtuber (and a smaller one at that) is a very important argument. The dev would usually always win in sales vs views.

Nothing else.
