Thanks for the review! How are these holding up for you? I just bought these and wondering if I should have bought the factory VW ones. The plastic ends is what worries me... Where are the factory ones use steel for the clamping mechanism.
I’m still using them and they are going strong. I take them on and off which doesn’t leave them in the elements, but is arguably more “wear and tear”. They are surprisingly still like new. They’re for my wife’s car, I have a Yakima for mine and it uses plastic as well. It must just be a really durable plastic. The last trip I did I upgraded from the box in the video (18 cu ft) to a 22 cu ft so even bigger with more weight. Did 2200 miles and it was all good.
Hi, I just got this rack for my 2020 Kia Sportage and was interested to see how the feet held at weight and speed as I've only had cross bars that had wraparound contact to the rails. your review answered my concerns. Thankyou
Yes, it was on the car all summer. With and without the box. I was honestly shocked at how quiet it was. I have Yakima round bars on my SUV with no fairing and it is SO loud once you get to 45ish plus. I couldn’t hear any distinguishable added noise with the bars on.
Also the bolts don’t rust, I’m not sure if they are aluminum or chrome plates, but they are that shiny metal like the quick release seat lost or wheel clamps on a bike.
I’ve got a 2016 Kia Sedona. I had no idea adding a rack was so easy! Thanks for taking the time to create content. I’m going to buy them now!
Glad I could help 👍
Thanks for posting this! Considering them for my Niro EV
They’re still working great!

I’m coming up on a year with them on my car and it still good as new👍. Glad the review helped!
Is it with your car all the time? How are the bolts and screws do they rust easily? Is there a loud humming sound when you ride at 70 miles? Thank you
