Sorry for some mistakes reading, specially on the fast parts. This is a highly improvised line so i had to read lots of different fills. Managing to do that correctly in one take can be very hard. I'm quite certain of what's in the tab though, and i also encourage you to not learn it by heart, but to take what you can for your own use and improvisation. Any of the fills will be good to use in the context of the same chord notated above, and specially on any other blues. Anyways, let me know if it's good enough and leave any question on the comments. Thanks
Thanks so much for your work! Your tone is always great man
Thanks for putting the chords on there. That really helps. Also thanks for being awesome in general.
What is the name of the bass you are using?
@@legokidfister3335
It's a Washburn Taurus T24 ;)
@@Corio626 Thank you!
I'll tuck this in my folder titled "Maybe Someday"
literally this, for 2 years
I finally got the intro down recently but once the tempo kicks up I can't hang
3 weeks later, still playing at 0.75 speed but getting a lot better at it!
Pretty much nailed it at 0.85 speed now!!
Playing the song on full speed now! Haven't nailed the fast parts quite yet, but I just realized I've been playing bass for 4 years now and can't believe how far I've come thanks to this channel.
If anyone was ever going to do an accurate cover of this masterpiece it was you
No kidding, John Paul Jones didn't waste any time on this track. Starts riffing right out the gate and doesn't stop for nothing.
Not even a bass player just wanted to watch someone play it. You killed it!
It’s about time
just about fucking time
Holy shit I've been waiting for this for ages I'm so happy
John Paul Jones was just too good! Seriously, what kind of guy can play a bass part like this? THen keyboards as well? ANd this was probably completely improvised in the studio, maybe even his first take!
Guy with talent, musical training, and hard work to become a top session musician.
the only match i can think for this type of talent on bass is Tamla Motown's James Jamerson who was Jonesy's inspiration
@@marshwetland3808It’s always nice to see a reasonable comment that isn’t all emotional hyperbole.
I've heard that John Paul Jones recorded this in one take as it was a common jam section of their live shows that they frequently played before it was ever recorded.
DUDE!!!! BEEN waiting 4 years!!!
First of all, this tutorial was masterfully done! How do you even begin to transcribe such a complicated piece? Bravo! Secondly, ever since the first time I heard the Lemon Song, I always gravitated to hearing only the bass line which was so complex and yet mesmerizing. I almost forgot the rest of the instruments (unbelievable solo by Page). How did Jonesy ever come up with this? It's pure genius! I can listed to it over and over all day every day and not get tired.
I've been waiting for this video FOR SO LONG
Best bass song ever from the best rock album ever!
A lot more difficult than you would think when just listening to the song, love it.
Seems like like you gotta feel that baby to get it right. Whoever invented this song put a lot of damn heart and soul in that bass for this song!
this is the most freaking awesome bass line off all rock history. holly molly
145 blues line
@@alanlangley7246 yep, the harmony is simple, but the arrengement...god level
I like that you use open strings in your playing. In a lot of tabs and "covers", it seems to me the musicians go out of their way to make sure every note is fretted, when the judicious use of an open string can ease playing considerably.
I think it’s a beginner friendliness thing. Beginners in general don’t use the open strings a ton for fills and whatnot because they’re not usually super aware of the key or which open strings are applicable to the key they’re playing in, so fretted notes feel safer
wow...i never realized JPJ is/was that good until I witnessed your cover of the Lemon Song perfectly. simply wow.
The best bass playing I've ever seen
One of the craziest songs ever written, truly amazing.
Prolly one of the hardest songs of your Channel ... Hard hard one
It just shows how incredible of a bass player JPJ is.
FINALLY, one of my fav bassline
@CoverSolutions I am blown away by your musicianship, technique, your ear its Top Shelf. also really impressed by how versatile (sound wise) the Washburn is. Crazy!!!
Love the tone here, yeah.
Thank you sooo much for taking the time to recreate this and put the tabs, I’ve always wanted to learn this song and never thought I would be able to but now I can play it from start to finish with no problem! Only took me a couple weeks…keep doing what you do! I’m so grateful 🤙🏻❤️
FINALLY
Thank you! Definitely one of my favorite Zeppelin songs. John is a genius.
Thank you! This is probably one of the baselines I’ve wanted to dive into the most! Great playing as always, too 👍
🤘
Excellent!
This was the track that made me pick up the bass many years ago. Great to see it in detail played like this.
Thanks
More zeppelin, been waiting for another cover for a while. Thank you for this
This is insane. It sounds awesome. You are awesome!
Great job! Best bassline ever. Go JPP!
😂 I hear ya. This was the ding that inspired me to play bass. It’s my gold standard for playing bass in a song while marrying the drums and vocals. It’s a stellar achievement and John Paul Jones is a truly under appreciated musician
Até que fim foi liberado!!! Valeu cara pelo o teu trabalho!
Love the bass on this song. Thanks, and nice job
This has to be One of Your GREATEST Covers ❤❤❤❤❤😮😮😮😮😊😊😊😊😊
DAMNNNNNNN! Jonesy was a BEAST!
Thank you for keeping me in new bass lines!
WOW, nice job & was always curious how to play this on bass !! Thank you !!
holy variations, Batman!! KILLED IT
I let out an audible gasp of excitement when I saw the title. Great work man!
LETS GOOOOOOOO IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY FOR YEARS
This is amazing thank you so much
Great Job!! Great playing!
What a beast! You and John. wow
You are a god thanks for being the best bass player on the site
I've heard this song a million times, but always listening to Jon Lord or Ritchie, but now as an aspiring bassist, I have a whole new appreciation for the song. Thanks for posting this...
If you have heard this song a million times and if you are a bassist you should know that this is not Deep Purple!
@@peterschlotterbeck5639 Oops, replied to the wrong song... My bad.
Amazing job!
That was fantastic mate, thanks for taking the time to show us. And good advice about not learning it by heart haha, it's a big JPJ number.
Can't believe after only playing bass a little less than 6 months, I've gotten pass the fast parts. Albeit I was simplifying it a bit to fit my experience (and to make it a little more tasteful in my opinion) One of my favorite Led Zep songs.
Which is it, LZ or tasteful - they were always over the top and I love them for it.
@@marshwetland3808 By tasteful I kinda just really meant I got rid of some of the ghost notes and simplified the part where is just mainly drums and bass. But yeah, it's still Led Zep 🤘
Excellent man!!
amazing job!
could you do a cover of american life by primus?
Subscribe to his patreon.
He doesn’t take requests for free
YEEEES
best. bassline. ever.
Good job! Thanks you.
Just ridiculous! Bravo.
killing it
Fantastic.
Bravissimo, Grande !!!!!! 👏👏👏
YESSSS FINALLY SOME ZEPPELIN
Thanks a lot you're the best
Wow i watched it 3 times in a row literally
Note for note. ... outstanding job bro..... rock on....
I haven’t had to remember this many fills since Santeria.
Yaaayy thanks!
Well done Sir.
So glad this song is back, maybe now I can finally nail it! Woo hoo!
I just learned it!! Don’t give up 🤙🏻❤️
Oh yesssssss
You’re breathtaking
Oooff, the tab I was using for this song on songsterr is a mess, yours is much better, thank you!
Phenomenal!
That lick at 1:23 on Bar 28 is beautiful, but I believe John hits G sharp not G natural. That is the 13th fret on the G string rather than the 12th. Really helps the line sing out with joy that note
Yesss!!!
This was fucking amazing man! Good shit
Hats off for the balls in trying to pull this off! Not quite JPJ, but a lot better than I could do! Will try though.... maybe (:
Thanks
If there is a better bass blues, I haven't heard it. Incredible
Money Pink Floyd
@@georgejungle138😂
Outstanding cover. JPJ, Led Zeppelin’s secret weapon!
Great cover of a great bassline! Seems difficult to me. 😅 Very good job 👍
Please do Damage Case. I'd love to see you cover that song :)
This is a note for myself for practicing
0:16 Verse 1
1:02 Verse 2
1:33 Solo 1
hey man, was wondering if you will do "mercy" by muse someday. great content as always!
Finally!!!!!
Ya le estoy dando megusta TEMAZO
Amazing, totally nailed it. Are you using flatwounds?
Waiting
YES
When i see what this master show me, looks too easy but oh boy damn hard for real
Great job! love your channel and could you cover some day SuperConducter by Rush?
Good
Muito bom
John Paul Jones will be happy for you sir! Pure and simple zeppelin.
Could you do a cover of Epic by Faith No More? Thanks, you're awesome
Could you do bass and electric guitar hayloft by mother mother
Any tips on how to memorize this baseline? I have a band and we’re almost finished learning all of the zep II album other than this song and I just can’t figure out how to remember what’s going on
Love you videos. I’m trying to learn how to play bass. Could someone tell me how to download this site’s tabs? I can’t get the Mega site to download any of the tabs even though I downloaded the Mega app. Please help!
"All my Love", please!!!!
Great work but i have a question. Can you work tip top song - the return of headhunters band ? Ty
