Goodonya Sped. This was my cousin Malcolm's fav song. We lost him many years ago, way young driving too fast in bad conditions. He was one of my great mates, so full of life. Gotta learn this for him, thanks cobber, owe you a beer for this one! Thanks for all your lessons mate, you are the next best thing to a Shane Warne googly!
Damn son, why didn’t I find you earlier…?! My buddies and I grew up with the Zeppy albums, played them all loud and proud! The day they came we would go down to our local record store and each of us would buy one. We’d take back to one of our houses and put it on the turntable, crank up the volume, grab our guitars, turn the amps on and JAMM….! We tried to learn every single song…Sometimes we did….sometimes…well we tried hard. We all played by ear and none up of us had ever had a guitar lesson..I recently started playing again after about a 35 yr absence, you know, life, family, career etc, now retired and I can not get enough of this wonderful life changing music! I really loved your video, nice and clear and I will be keeping both eyes and ears on your channel…! Great job on one of my favorite Zeppy songs, that got us into a bit of trouble in our high school talent show in the early 70’s…a few of the more “mature” (ok, old like me now) teachers didn’t really dig the song..Oh well…! Keep on keeping on…👍✌️🎸‼️

I was at work listening to this through my ear buds and happened to take the right one out so I could hear my surroundings a bit better and hokey smokes! The rhythm guitar track through the guitar solo was in the left (lead guitar right) and Jimmy is going crazy on the rhythm guitar. I never realized how fast and furious it was because the lead is so much in the foreground. Thank you for another great video. Cheers!
Not quite sure what you mean. On the original recording or my video? Just because I didn’t play anything multi tracked, I was playing unaccompanied throughout.
Amazing, I got so much out of this. I realize how brave you have to be to do what you do for the world's legions of amatuer guitarists - opening yourself to the opinions, trolls, and criticism of the best of them. But you aniticipate where the slings and arrows might come from and dispense of them so adeptly, and I for one am grateful, because I am one of those people that 'learned it in high school' like a gazillion years ago and yet only knew the crude imitation version, it seems, until I picked up the many nuances here from you. One thing I'd add to your discussion, if you might, is a bit more of a view on how you get the many tones you've achieved here - it sounds like the tone Page achieved on the album. Maybe you're explanation of having the wah cocked off the treble a bit and the tone knob down covers it, along with the touch one applies. But yeah, I'd love insights into how you do it. Thanks for posting this, I got a ton out of this in just an hour.
Great intro to playing this song. I listened to the track last night. This song is the best rock and roll has to offer. Every bit of it is phenomenal. I felt I was transported to a club listening to them play.

with that lick on that hits the b string 3rd fret, could he be sliding that note A to B instead of hammer on? the slide seems more comfortable to do - particularly if beer is helping you play
Excellent, this is such a cool song. I really dig the tone you get. Incidentally, I was watching this with my daughter in the room (she was not watching, only heard you) and she said “why is the cat from the Willoughby’s talking in this video”. The Willoughby’s is an animated movie where a cat is voiced by Ricky Grevais. I always thought you had a Ricky Gervais vibe, so I guess this proves it 😊🎸👍🏼.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I absolutely love Ricky Gervais. Went to see him live in Manchester this year. That’s so funny, I’m not familiar with the movie but it made me laugh. I’ll check it out. I think it’s in the pacing of the jokes I make. 😂 Very David Brent.
@@SpedSpedding ha, I thought you might get a kick out of it. It was like an accidental controlled experiment. She doesn’t know who Gervais is (only knows the voice of the cat) and had never heard you and was only listening to your voice. Yea, I have always been a fan of his, I really liked the show “Extras”, the pod cast with Carl and Steven Merchant, and some of his stand up. I would not recommend the Willoughby’s, unless you have young kids perhaps. 🎸👍🏼
I like your lessons; I like your style too. I think it's the drunk face I've been missing for the best outcome. I'll practice this. Should I try drinking first for best results? Anyway, great to see another lesson. I've kept my sentences short.

I also bought the book last week!! And it’s great !!! Thanks for putting me onto it !! I’ve got quite a few Zep and Stones books around my house and I’ve read and went through quite a few in the past as well …. I can honestly say that this one is my new favorite and i can’t believe i only paid like 33$ on Amazon for it! Anyways as usual , you’re a stud Sped !!! Hope all is well with life across the pond bro!!! Cheers 😎🤘🏼
So glad you like it! It was actually a gift to me when I left and old job a few years ago. It’s become such a staple on the channel. I love it too. 😍
@@SpedSpedding yea story time with Sped with my fav !! I wouldn’t be surprised if one day Jimmy or JPJ sent ya a message. Out of all the dudes on the tube covering stuff I can definitely say that you’re the coolest 😎🤘🏼
Cool....Thanks!
I've been playing this for years and always wanted to play the little subtle but important fills, so thanks for showing us them........
Could you please do a lesson on the boogie mama section on the live versions of whole lotta love
Thanks mate. Great as always.
My pleasure!
The Dark Lord was on his Lester for the LS. P.S. Love your channel! You are sort of cheeky, dim Ritchie Blackmore (and RB is about a two watt bulb) 😂🎉
Squeeeeze me baby! Love it Sped- brill as usual🎸
Thank you!
Thanks for the tasty lesson in Zeppelin BLUZE! Just picked up the book, that way I can follow along. BTW, loved the acoustic version of "Dare To" .
Awesome, thank you! We had fun recording those two together. You never know how a song is going to translate to “acoustic” especially when they’re a little heavier. But people have received them well and we’ve had such nice feedback!
Young Sped at the store with his mum: Mum, can we get some fiddly bits, please? Mum: We have fiddly bits at home. Fiddly bits at home: The Lemon Song; fantastic lesson and great tone sir.
Haha, definitely me outside Mr. Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe every Wednesday.
So good it made me fall right out of bed.
😂
good show mate!
Glad you enjoyed it
Your tutorials are top notch
Life lessons learned: It’s all about getting your lemons squeezed…and learning some cool Led Zeppelin riffs.
Teaspoon of sugar and 4 cubes for me!
You should do since ive been loving you next
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
😂😂🍋 Share the fizzzzzzz!
Nice to get story time again, got through this song a while back, just revisited some of songs from this awesome album, almost nailed Bring it on home, will have to get back into this song, that's what Zeppelin does to you, thanks Sped, ps. Awesome tone on that Les Paul. 👍
I’ve never actually learnt BIOH! Maybe I should add that to my list. Thanks for watching! 🍋
@@SpedSpedding It's a great one to play, no doubt you would do an awesome job on it.
with that lick on that hits the b string 3rd fret, could he be sliding that note A to B instead of hammer on? the slide seems more comfortable to do - particularly if beer is helping you play
Now for the Hubert Sumlin Killin' Floor lick, and the rest of the lead....
Part 2?!???
The Mrs keeps asking me what I'm laughing about. I told her I was going to change my name to Ched Chedding. You're awesome man.
😂🧀 What a glorious new name. Will she have to change hers too? Assuming you’ve had a wed wedding? 👰♀️
I do appreciate the short sentences! 😂 Especially after that long Shakespearean Zeppelin trivia paragraph. The face is essential, the drinking is optional. 💪🏻
brilliant!
Appreciate that!
Great lesson, did Zep ever play this live? I can't remember ever hearing a version of it
