I’m going to try OraVet
One OraVet chew gave all three of my dogs bad diarrhea, meaning they needed to go to the vet to get metronidizole, the FIRST time I gave it to them. My husky did happen to have a sensitive stomach, but my chow/boxer mix rarely had digestive upset and also my lab/aussie mix who was fed table scraps and fast food most of her life (not by me) and who has an iron stomach also vomited this up. All 3 of these dogs could eat Pedigree Dentasticks without any issues! Just because something is recommended by a vet or the VOHC doesn't mean its safe. Studies have been done with humans and delmopinol hydrochloride but guess what, they used it as mouthwash, not to eat it! I used to work in the veterinary field as well and I feel that it is important for people to realize that not all pharmaceutical companies have your pet's best interest in mind.
I do Oravet, I brush her teeth, I do the Royal Canin food (as treats), I also do the 1TDC (every other day or two like you), I also do Oretene in between as well. My dog's teeth are great, she did need 2 pulled but that was because she "broke" them (not sure if it was "bully sticks" or just normal wear on her back 2 teeth but we don't do anything hard like that anymore just in case). Vet said they were great otherwise so i'm doing something right and sounds like you are too! Awesome to see this!
Oh, one other thing I do is SeaDent (kind of like the sprinkle stuff you do for your cat).
I bought the oravet just this month and can't believe how much better my pups breath smells! They like it so its a thumbs up!

I bought veggiedent. My dog can only eat it, if I make it like small pieces (Yorkie). When I give the stick as it is, she doesn't even try to chew it. Any advice?
I use the OraVet chews for my dog, and I saw that you also use the powder as well. Can I use both the chews and the powder in the same day?
FYI: If you have a small dog, please be careful with dog bones and treats in general. I gave my dogs the Greenies dog treats for months. One day, I went to the restroom, while they were eating them. I came back and realized my dog was choking. I thought she was playing. But, I saw hair on my bed. I started the Heimlich maneuver on her. It took me like five minutes or more, to get it up. I’d hit her in the back then go back to H.M. My legs were like jelly, I was so nervous. I’ve probably said this here before. But, I try to warn people everywhere I go. After that, I break up all of their treats, no matter how small they come. Even though this particular treat was larger, as it got down to about an inch, is where she choked on it. It still gives me chills to think about it.
What about the cat greenies, do they work too?
Thanks for the post!! I love the virbac c.e.t. toothpaste - have used it for 15 years or so. Every pet I've tried it with loved it, and I volunteer in rescue and foster, so that's a lotto critters. I do clippy and toofers training with all my pets. It starts with small sessions with lotso treats. the first couple weeks, I put away any goals of actual brushing or clipping - I get them used to the "equipment" and that this is a wonderful thing. I invite them to "sniff it" (clippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc) and they get treats for "sniffing it'!! they're always so shocked they got a treat for something so simple. They start coming and moving towards all of it, instead of away. i "air clip" and "air brush" - air clipping around their paws, touching their toes, etc, air brushing around their mouth and lifting lips. Then I make small goals - a tiny brush, one tooth, a tiny clip, tip of one claw per day. This takes a good month and more - and gives me A LIFETIME of easy claw and toothcare. Everyone around me talks about how difficult this is with their pets - "what groomer?" - "how much will I have to pay?"- "will vets do it?" - "how much?" - i show them videos of my pets literally handing me their paws for clippies. Then everyone asks questions, I tell them what I do, you can see they don't want to have to bother with it. And six months down the road, a year, two years, 5 years later - they're still having problems. While my pets hand me their paws, sit in my lap, or (150 pound dog) lay motionless on their side while I work. I no get it. Take the time, schedule it, put it in your calendar - a month or two devoted to this every day. It's so incredibly worth it, for the hooomans and the animals.
Great information - I always look at ingredients - I looked into those water additives you can add to the drinking water - turns out one ingredient was zink chloride! so zink good but choride is bleach! yes it will get the job done but what is it doing to the rest of the dog? I looked into greenies and the were filled with ingredients I had never heard of and many channels will tell you, if you can not pronounce it its probably not good! I will check out these suggestions here, they sound good. Im always looking for more dental help but most of the time most dental products do more damage than good - they fix the teeth up but bad for the stomach etc. The reason dogs have plaque etc is most kibble is 30 - 50 % sugar and sugar causes plaque.
Have you added or changed anything to your dental products/routine? I love your videos about dental health for dogs and was wondering what other dog products you use like dog shampoo, treats, monthly preventatives etc.

I think it's only once a day and she said every other day. Me i brush my dogs teeth only once a week when they take baths. And dentals chews everyday after meal

I brush my dog teeth every night 😊(she LOVES it) after i brush her teeth i will give her dental stick (not dentastix).

I got my pug greenies and I definitely need to do more then just giving him the greenies royal canine food is trash seriously not good for your pet
I tried 3:58 1-TDC for my cats and it caused cat acne for both my cats, ended up returning that product back to amazon
Greenies are bad for your dog. Your basically feeding them plastic! I used to use them too

I love the OraVet ones! My dog loves them and I see the improvement. I tried the C.E.T. Chlorhexidine chews. My dogs didn’t really like them. I just ordered the veggie dent for my other dog. I use the toothpaste as well. Where did you get the oil supplement?

Raw meaty bones are amazing and do wonders compared to most dental chews! If my dog is chewing 2+ hours on a meaty bone it almost completely scrapes off plaque. When we first did it, chunks of plaque came off. Nature’s toothbrush for sure.
I'm thinking of trying the VetriScience Perio Support. I'm currently giving my cat ClenzADent ProDen Plaque Off powder which my vet recommended.

Any clumping litter is fine (I personally use pretty litter). I really like science diet or royal canin foods. They both make a kitten formula food! Congrats on becoming a cat mom!!!! That's so exciting!

Im also a technician and my dog used to be on t/d (now he's on a senior diet) since he's 10 now, but just had his first dental! Definitely love dental diets since they kill two birds with one stone!

I honestly don't like feeding my dog any treats, bones, or kibble that helps teeth bc of the ingredients and I just feel like it doesn't rlly work haha but what I do is I brush my dog teeth a few times a week and give her raw meaty bones which helps her teeth by alot
