- Don’t let the cute appearance of Kena Bridge of Spirits deceive you, combat in this game is tougher than it looks, especially on its harder difficulties. So I’m here to give you a few general strategies and tips as you progress through the game to help you out. And we will be spoiler friendly.

Not gonna lie the main bosses are kicking my ass on normal difficulty. Wasn’t expecting that from a cute looking game lol.
try playing with a disabled right hand and having to use said hand for the arrows felt so rewarding to kill the first main boss taro on sprit guide i feel that it is a little over tuned for normal difficulty boss

Taro Was hard for me in Normal, Then i discovered Upgrades. Rot Arrows are OP in Normal (story mode). I kicked Adira's Wooden Buttocks In a Few Scary Moments
These are good and useful tips and not clickbait. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised about how hard some of the boss and mini-boss battles are even on Normal, difficulty.

Also, pressing in the right joystick can lock onto enemies. Great for certain bosses and enemies.
The combat difficulty definitely took me by surprise. I'm playing on normal and have already got wrecked plenty of times lol
This game is so amazing, man. Feels like a throwback to those older 3D platformers I grew up playing. It’s soooo good.
It’s great that the game doesn’t hold your hand either. Get to point a, b and you’ll figure out small things as you go

Kena: Shadows Die Twice
Another pro tip - You can use spirit dash to cancel enemy attacks and deal a lot of damage ( requires spirit dash , unlocks later in the game )
kinda sad that we get that ability in like the last hour of the game. also we really need a new game plus mode because by the time you unlock all the rots, outfits and meditation spots, enemies are almost completely cleared from the map
@@darthmatoro yeah. Also the final boss difficulty just skyrocketed. I played on hard and that was like a souls boss. No checkpoints , multiple stages , no healing till the final stage and no rot abilities!

@@dr.sivavignesh664using the crystal that heals you with courage drops is a game changer on the last fight, and some challenges with time and no flower heals as requirements

Game is amazing! I easily would have paid $60 for this.
It feels like every other sony game made in the last 5 years, so it's not really special, but it's fun for what it is

Good tips here and nice showcase at the end as well. I didn’t expect this type of challenge but it is welcome. Not liking the cheap offscreen hits and infinite minions on bosses but I guess that is how you gain your courage meter. Will keep plugging away at this game to completion.
Hey there, just replaying the game for the master trophy on NG+ master difficulty and the game is absolutely on another level, especially bosses. Even though I knew most of the tips here, there are quite a few that I didn't know, like that you can explode bombs with pulse. Thanks a lot for the video!

Started the game on hard assuming it would be a cake walk. Boy I was "pleasantly" surprised I was wrong. Got my ass slapped down many times but I loved it!
Playing on Master now for that platinum trophy. This games deserves me to put in that extra effort.
Im doing this at Master mode its like already knew most of these tips on my own. Time Bomb and Bow attack is most recommended. Parry if you can parry just dodge alot when theres a red glow on boss fights.
Skilled gameplay looks so good. I need to start away from the one button masher I normally am. Getting better, as master difficulty will not let you get away with that.
This game feels classic and i like it was challenging enough for me
BTW, shield sticks can be destroyed by running r1 ( no need for r2 ).

It’s one of the trophies so yeah..
I got one tip as well. It's for the Adira boss fight specifically, but could be useful in other situations. Switch off auto lock on in the options menu. It's very annoying when you try to trow a bomb in a different direction then the boss but the camera won't let you.
Damn, this game looks SO GOOD! Ironically, this tips video is the best look at the game I’ve seen so far. I’m really glad there’s a little spice to the difficulty, too.

When an enemy is about to attack dont move the l stick but perfectly time the backflip so you can flurry rush
I was really loving the game during my current playthrough but now after reading all these tips I missed it's even that much more amazing. They better make a sequel.
My only real complain is parrying just feels off too much of the time.

Man I just beat the game and there was so much that i didn't know about. I'm lo key salty watching this video 😂. Didnt know you can explode bombs with pulse. Didnt know about jump cancel. Didnt know I can grab courage with the pulse. I knew nothing 😂
with all respect... did you read any text during the game?... using the pulse to explode bombs, and picking courage with the pulse, both are explained in the game... the only thing is not explained is the jump cancel.

I just want to know what's best for DPS, I'm in master spirit guide (highest difficulty) and I'm having really hard time with all the challenge fights with a timer!
I’ve been playing at least 15 hours, and I don’t have most of those abilities yet… maybe I should focus on the story instead of spending 5 minutes in each place staring at the environmental details 😯

The rot hammer never works in combat for me. I know I can’t be the only one experiencing this. And yes I’ve made my character hold still just, and yes I’ve held down R2 even to the point it automatically heavy attacks. The square button never pops up for me to use it. Comments anyone?

Ha I tortured my self playing it in native 4k 30fps changing to performance after finishing the game and 30 fps is painful switching to. 60 the graphical hit isn't that bad actualy looks better than. Native
Always choose performance over resolution. Nine times out of ten you will nearly never notice a resolution drop. Now a frame rate drop... is VERY noticeable.

@@kufudokungfu While that is true, that is why I agree $40 is a fair price point. Off the top of my head I can come up with a few ideas of new items to give you more incentive to explore.

There's is no "performance mode" on PC. 60 fps is the minimum you should be playing at. This game is fairly well optimized, so you should be able to get much higher on PC.

I have one advice. Learn how to parry and you're a god
Coming from a hardened Souls and Sekiro player...parrying will always be KING!

@@ThePokestopPapi I'm also a huge SoulsBorn fan, Sekiro being almost a favorite. The parry windows in this game are very tight, and I love it.
@@Motley_CV I thought so too at first. Just take some time to practice. It's just a very tight window of time. Like a split second before the enemy connects. Ganing a full rot courage ability after a parry is extremely useful.

They say her name so many times throughout the game, which just pisses me off at this point... people making these videos about all these advanced tips that have clearly put a great amount of time into the game, but can't even properly pronounce the name of the main character 😑
@@ThePokestopPapi Not sure if you played God of War 2018, but the amount of videos I've seen where people pronounce Atreus ("Uh-Tray-Us") as Aye-Tree-Us is annoying AF. Are people really that dense?

Not sure why everyone screws this up, including game journalists. It's pronounced Kay-na. It's in the game if you've played it.
The difficulty was very poorly balanced in this game. Normal mode was way too hard and easy mode was way too easy.

Never reduce the difficulty of the game, never go full casual

what combat tips? This game has the worst combat of all games of this genre. Part of the reason untalented game developers put in story mode to make up for their terribad combat system.
