    Having just glanced over the admittedly beautiful rooms in the rest of the house I am stunned at the striking LACK of color, personality, and vibrancy. This dining room is so breathtakingly lovely, fun, and useful even without comparing them. I wish the other designers were operating on the same brief. At least you can effectively LIVE in that dining room.

    Love the versatility of this room. That triple use table is genius and the vibrant colors and curvy patterns are sophisticated, natural, and fun. Spectacular achievement.

    Love her style. This color is perfection. As a Southern lady, the dining room is the most important room to decorate. It shows the true personality and style of the lady of the house. And it should always be in her most flattering color.

      I love your products! They are the only one's I'll use on my floors! I have reclaimed herringbone from an old bank in Paris and new french white oak and the go together because of your products penetrating the wood vs raincoating it.

    I'm completely obsessed with that room. As someone with a open floor plan I struggled with ideas for my dining area. I just knew I didn't want or need a traditional table. I'm inspired to make a lounge/dining area.

    FREAKING out it is sooooo amazing. I was excited to see the multi-function but it exceeded my expectation! Windsor Smith had a ping pong table in one of her rooms...and you made it a late night lounge, a dinning room, and elegant play! I can imagine having dinner then giving a home tour while things are switched around to return to the late night lounge for ping pong and/or drinks So great. Sorry for the lack of brevity. MUST have that table. Love the colors, the ceiling, the bar. I read below about concerns playing ping pong around precious...we do it and things have survived!

    Cannot believe dining tables are not a thing. Perhaps that’s an American thing. The only reason it’s harder in England is the lack of space the average home has. Nice concept with the table.

    Right on... A ping pong game table in a room full of expensive and delicate glass and china ... Do these designers have any idea how ping pong is supposed to be played??? Yeah, let's play some wild ping pong game and trash this lady's dream formal dinning room into pieces... Everything else looked pretty good though...

    • @i.e.presents638
      @i.e.presents638 5 років тому +1

      Eonia Grace I thought the same thing. I was hoping they would be mindful in their choices such that nothing was too precious or breakable in this room but...it IS gorgeous. Perhaps we can take this idea and make it more LIVEable.
      Ideas: open shelving with books (soft), instead of a glass fronted bar (I think the bar has to go entirely or at least hide behind a cabinet door (perhaps the door face can be upholstered with sturdy acoustic padding and covered with something durable like leather, maybe trimmed with nailheads)...The windows could be made of the same kind of glass used in racquetball courts The large painting could be a dimensional fabric piece instead. No artwork should have glass in front of it. Those gorgeous lamps look too fragile for a ping pong room, ditto on the vases, glasses, etc. Wooden and metal vessels can be used along with lamps in those same materials or resin, recycled plastic, etc. The record player is not mentioned anywhere and looks amazing but it is likely too fragile as well. Maybe that only comes out when the game is over. The snake sculpture works. The sideboard could have forgiving embellishments create the pattern rather than carving. The light fixture would be the toughest to figure out but I trust there would be a way to either use durable can lights with an art installation where the fixture currently is, it would just need to be made to withstand the impact of pong pong balls. The seating is all fine, the table is fine, and the metal lamp hanging over the left side of the couch works too. The plants need to be hearty and maybe potted in baskets or wooden pots. Curious if others have ideas about a side table lamp, ceiling light fixture, or sculpture medium that would work better in this space to incorporate the ping pong.

      @@i.e.presents638 Great ideas, but how about just moving the darn ping pong table to the outdoors room? Everything else work in this room... Why make the whole room adapt the nonsensical and perverse idea such as introducing a raging bull into a huge china cabinet ? ;) Besides, sweating and probably slightly drunk, competitive wild ping pong players don't exactly contribute to the rarefied ambiance of this formal dining room... Did the person who designed this room ever own a lovely formal dining and/or have any idea how one is supposed to function, I wonder?

    • @rexrad9735
      @rexrad9735 4 роки тому +2

      Ping pong balls are literally the lightest things on the planet. It's not a golf ball they're playing with.

    • @Wazupu
      @Wazupu 2 роки тому

      To me it was the hygiene part of having balls on the floor and scrubbing it over the table. Plus the table is too beautiful for that.
