  • Sharing my recent experience of dealing with a concussion. Over the week, I adjusted, canceled plans, and tried to rest. I eventually felt better and organized lunch with my friend Christine from "Frugal Fit Mom." Join me as I prepare lunch and share one of my big housekeeping tips for the unexpected.

Concussions are not generally visible on scans. You can have a concussion with clean scans. Concussions are traumatic brain injuries. I hope your symptoms resolve quickly.

Eliminate screens and get lots of rest. You need to see a doctor. You need a CT scan to eliminate complications. It takes from a week to 3 or more months to recover.

Don't take this lightly! A friend experienced a similar injury when she ran into a cabinet door. A few days later, she was experiencing some unusual symptoms, and her family took her to ER. She had a stroke! She's lost some of her vision and much of her ability to walk or stand. PLEASE get this checked out.

Please go to a doctor or the hospital. There are too many serious conditions that may have happened to not get checked out. My hubby had a contusion on his brain and it has changed to scar tissue and now fluid. I would want to make sure it isn't a brain bleed. Please get to a doctor.

👋🏻 EMT here. Please go to the ER. It’s best to get imaging aswell as being able to get a positive documentation in the case of another ever God forbid Is to happen. Multiple concussions can be even more dangerous, and having it documented can at least give better insight in the future. ❤️

Kimmy, go to the Doctor, please. My good friends husband hit his head and he thought he was fine. He refused medical treatment and his vitals were okay. Seven days later she had to plan his funeral. He had a very slow brain bleed. Even if it turns out to be a concussion, you truly need a Doctor to order whatever tests to make sure that you don't have a brain bleed. Jay's was such a slow bleed that he didn't feel that bad until the end.

Prayers for a speedy recovery! I suffered a concussion in November and it took me a solid 3 months to get back to normal. It was horrible! I’m going to share something that I’ve never shared before with you. My dad tripped and hit his head hard on a brick building. They thought it was JUST a concussion. Well, within a few days he started getting really bad headaches. My mom came outside to find him crying in pain. She rushed him to the hospital to find he had a severe head bleed and surgery had to be done immediately to relieve the pressure. Suffice to say, it started with a concussion that led to mom saving his life.
Please watch for signs of anything unusual. This head bleed later resulted in a major stroke.
I love you dearly and don’t want anything to happen to you and that’s why I’m sharing this tragedy with you. It’s hard to believe it can happen over such an innocent diagnosis of a concussion. Please be safe and careful. You mean so much to me.
    Love 💕 and Hugs. 💙💙💙

❤❤❤❤I have pervasive concussion syndrome from not taking a concussion seriously. Basically, I now have the symptoms you are describing consistently even 1.5 years after the initial injury. It is difficult but what I learned is that in order to heal your brain needs rest. Unfortunately (I have ADHD too) that means dark and quiet. Initially I had to do 20 minutes in a quiet dark room every one-two hours. The doctor also had me wear blue or rose colored glasses with light (whichever worked in certain lighting). The glasses really helped with the fluorescent lighting! Ear plugs are also a must. I also had to have some eye therapy because focus and tracking movement was difficult. While my symptoms are no longer happening all of the time, I get triggered by light and sound and go back to feeling just like you are describing. I know that with ADHD it is hard (impossible!) to slow down and simply rest your brain. However, I know now that with ADHD it is even harder to function with a brain that doesn’t work right. A concussion is an irreversible brain injury, even if it wasn’t “bad” and we don’t feel bad. Take care of you and all my best!! ❤❤❤

Yikes!! I just turned 50 and I am recovering from a concussion I got over 5 months ago! I was hit by a car while walking across a cross walk, I didn’t realize I hit my head but a witness told me that I had. I can’t believe I still have symptoms but I go to physio for concussion treatment twice a week. I know every concussion is different but don’t expect to recover as quickly as your kids did, when you’re older it takes longer and also get professional help from a Dr or someone trained for concussion recovery!! Taking proper care early is very important to avoid longterm affects.

I fell after we were in a car accident that I got a concussion and Did get it checked and that all It takes a long time to heal can take up to a year or more. It's good to have your Doctor check it out and be aware. When?
I had my concussion the first time.I was told no excessive stimulation with my eyes, Rest and in fact, I couldn't go on any electronics for a time. I remember.
Walking outside and just the leaves on the trees moving was too much stimulation from my eyes and head. What many people don't realize is you can get a concussion without even hitting your head. I was seen by a neurologist and he said just banging your head just the movement of jarring your head can cause a concussion. I.
Have boys that have played sports and have gotten concussions? Caring for somebody was one thing And I can remember it being so scary for my kids. I will be praying for healing Kimmy❤ What a fun lunch time Christine is a riot. Watch you both❤ one of my kids is getting married and then our family member is expecting a baby in December. Am excited will make grandbaby #6.

I went to a restaurant called Jason's Deli. They put crushed pineapple in their chicken salad. It's sooo good.

I fell back in January and hit the back of my head. Felt a little fuzzy for a few minutes and thought I would get the ice pack and rest awhile.. nope hubs put me in the car and off to the ER. Turned out to be a 5mm brain bleed and as I am on aspirin regime the first thing they gave me was meds to counteract the asprin. I spent the night in the hospital being monitored by Neuro and released next morning after another CT to confirm that the bleed had not gotten worse. I can confirm that I had a headache for three weeks..pretty much how long it took for the bleed to heal. Heavenly Father looked out for me and he's looking out for you.

If you are really having the symptoms you’re describing, get checked out. Your brain is nothing to be messed with. It can create more life threatening or serious issues down the line.

I fell and I was worried about my ankle! I had skinned knee but no problem with my ankle! Then my upper arm hurt! By night my side and lower ribs which I guess have been
Broken at sometime according to doctors! So that spot has caused me trouble! It is getting better but then I do something like lift a stack of cast iron pans!
