I cannot believe she thought for a second she'd get away with killing her husband. Foolish mistakes at the crime scene, writing a children's book and drawing attention, and writing an incriminating letter in her jail cell that gets inspected regularly. She should write a book on how to get caught killing your husband.

If I were the judge, I would've also given her a stern warning that writing another "book", this one allegedly involving the death of her husband (of whom she is currently on trial for the murder of), is a *very* poor choice, and that she cannot be surprised that if the jury were to hear that, even in trial, they would likely view it as damning evidence that she was at least attempting witness tampering.
Edit: and also tack on that, whether she's in jail, or not, if she has another book to write, it will still be there after the trial.

Well, I hope that Richins' attorneys have advised her to stop writing letters that contain incriminating evidence against her, because while she is incarcerated in the county jail, she has no expectation of privacy. The jail personnel screen her mail, her phone calls, etc., and they're all recorded, and provided to the State prosecutors. Now, her defense has to do damage control, and that's what all this is about. They're trying to get that letter suppressed.

"That's the narrative the media has picked up," you said it was from her book, release the book then. If your argument is, "They chose 6 out of 60 pages and gave them the worst interpretation," then provide the other 54 pages. That's all you have to do if you're telling the truth, but if you're lying, then you would do exactly this.

Laughable that defense argued that the DA should be sanctioned and the case dismissed for doing their job. I give them credit for trying.
