- Patrick Mahomes is the most talented quarterback in the NFL currently and about to play in another Superbowl against the San Fransisco 49ers. Not only do we cover what happened to the players drafted before Patrick Mahomes in this video and why that happened, but we also take a look into the other quarterbacks taken from this draft class and what they turned out to be.

Here's the thing nobody seems to consider. If Mahomes goes to Chicago, Cleveland, or especially the Jets, he doesn't have near the success that he's had. Andy Reid was the perfect coach for him & the Chiefs are the perfect organization. He came into a situation with Kelce, and Tyreek Hill, and a pass happy head coach who is one of the best ever at drawing up creative plays.
That's why they didn't take him. His style didn't work for their mediocre coaching styles😆
I think that he would be great with Cleveland, they still go to the playoffs with okay QB, but Chicago is a shit hole ( at least offensively, some year they have a good defense)
I think Mahomes probably needs to consider leaving KC, sooner rather than later. KCs passing options and runners are no longer as dominant as they once were. If he wants to stay in KC and beat Brady's record, for franchise wins and SB wins, then Reid needs to get him more weapons soon, maybe via restructuring to get Mike Evans to start as a deep option to complement Kelce.
@@time391L take. Mahomes aint going anywhere. Literally just won back to back super bowls 😂
@@time391 lol I don't think he worried about beating brady record. and I'm sure Mahomes never would leave KC. if I was him, I be happy with them 3 Superbowl's win. not many qb's won 3 Superbowl's, I think it funny some NFL fans thinks NFL is john madden football video game. dude that has to be one of dumbest comment I ever see saying Mahomes need to leave KC . what a troll you are

Isiah Pacheco also went in the 7th round, that was probably the most stacked 7th round in history
S-E-R-I-O-U-S-L-Y !!!!!!!!!
Right?
Brilliant
I think mahomes is where he's supposed to be, Smith played a major role in his development.
Chiefs fans still love Alex Smith, and were saddened at the tragic end of his career.
i feel same about Lamar Jackson if he got drafted by some other team. I don't think he would been as good, and he sure wouldn't won 2 seasons mvp's
@@funtyes1970I was pissed my 9ers didn’t draft him. I understand coach Kyle already traded for Jimmy at the time.
Nah mahomes was the exact same in college
Dead accurate 👍
I feel like Andy Reid was/is the only coach that could handle Mahomes’ abilities and unique play style. Mahomes has changed the game for QBs and I think other organizations didn’t touch him because they didn’t know how to work with such a rare and raw talent. Andy Reid is perfect for Mahomes and Mahomes is perfect for Andy Reid because Andy can literally draw up ANYTHING and Mahomes can do it. Most QBs can’t do what Mahomes does.
The problem is Mahomes wasn't considered a raw and rare talent by a lot of teams.
If the Bears had picked Mahomes, Mahomes would probably have been a bust. It's a 50-50 shot at best if any player drafted by the Bears or Browns is ruined by those franchises' large degree of incompetence.
nah patrick too special no way he woulda been a “bust” on any team! look at CJ and the texans!
@@tawj1918 Agreed! Mahomes is an elite talent and has that "it" factor and also elevates his teammates.
It all depends on who is running what. They might be able to throw a wet piss blanket on the fire, like they did with my Lions when Stafford and Calvin Johnson were both there for fk sake.
Imagine Dan “Gamble” Campbell coaching with those 2 on the team.
And FYI, we fkn love Campbell, I have no problem with his play calling vs 49ers. I have a problem with the D-secondary full of more holes than a Super 8 full of crack hoars on a Friday night.
But yeah, Mahomes went to the right place for sure.
Your saying “mahomes would have been a bust on the bears” 😢to make you feel better since yall drafted Mitch TruBUSTky instead of mahomes🤣🤣!! Whatever make you feel better
@@Unsealed_Prods For the record, I am actually a Chiefs fan. :p
In hindsight everyone was wrong who didn’t pick him, including the Bills who traded away the 10th pick to the Chiefs.
@@Biff-fm1mh I don’t need to be a clairvoyant to know that every one of these teams wishes they would have drafted Mahomes. But, whatever makes you feel better about it you are free to believe it.
your statement is wrong and also correct. Most of the team, especially the bears, wish they took him. He would have made a positive impact anywhere...but the Lions, Pathers, Bears and jets would have probably squandered much of his talent and he wouldn't be anything with them. Also, Seeing how things turned out, I wouldn't have taken mahomes either. McCaffery was clearly the correct pick. @@b1foschiefs
Buffalo is good with the guy they have.
@@nobonesaboutit7639can’t beat the guy they should have drafted tho 😂
@@servicedogojokeguys2967 that more of an indictment on the coaching staff than anything else. Josh has always done whats needed to beat KC. Coaching routinely lets him down. The Curse of Mahomes is real.
Of all picks, the Bears' was definitely the most stupid, not only because they drafted Trubisky, but because they gave up a shitload of draft picks to trade up a measly single spot despite it being obvious that the 49ers would never have picked him. And your assessment of Jamal Adams is 100 percent correct.
when that draft happens, I didn't understand why bears did that. unless bears were worried about some other team going to trade up and draft Trubisky, my cousin been a 49ers fan since 80's and i was watching draft with him, my cousin didn't understand either. this is why bears is bad cuz they have a moron GM and bears are like NY giants both teams can't draft.
@@funtyes1970 They always have morons running the organizations.
Probably the stupidest move in franchises history
2017 was a really good draft class.
It's funny because right when you were saying it seems like Fournette was drafted 10 years ago, I was JUST thinking "damn how long has Fournette been around?" 😂 love the videos!
He thinks about Fournette the opposite way I think about Ryan Tannehill, who apparently spent 7 years with the Dolphins? I could've sworn he was traded to Tennessee when he was still on his rookie deal.
Fun Fact, the chiefs actually picked up John Ross in the off season last year for camp to compete for a roster spot. he lasted about 2 days in the missouri heat and an andy reid training camp then retired.
I’m glad you addressed mahomes not being a perfect prospect at the time because it is so annoying to see people talk about teams passing on him like it was insane at the time. Mahomes is clearly an immensly talented qb, but being drafted by Reid and being able to learn from a qb like Alex smith was obviously helpful to his development. Sometimes a player is just drafted to the perfect situation and lives up to the hype. That’s how you get mahomes type guys.
The BEARS Drafting a QB with a Polish Sounding Last Name was a Gift to the Polish Population of the State of Illinois.
Mahomes is an unprecedented talent that inherited an unprecedented situation. Mahomes may have been a bust had he gone to a terrible team and been forced to play early. So much about being a good QB consistently is team and culture fit, and downright good fortune. He was the right QB at the right time for the Chiefs. To say he would be the same player regardless of where he went is to reduce the NFL to Madden - a collection of robots programmed with specific finite inputs. Anyone that's over the age of 12 understands these are humans and their abilities are fluid as are the dynamics of any given team.
That being said, it was also an incredibly big risk and some would say even a reach for KC to trade up and take Mahomes at 10. Many teams had labeled him as a risky gunslinger that would constantly turn the ball over. Only a coach and administration as well-established as the Chiefs could've made that move with confidence.
Beat me to the punch. Like ppl forget the Chiefs were already 12-4 at that point
But the gunslinger label never fit, as he didn’t throw a lot of pucks in college, despite his horrible defense placing him in a position where he had to play from behind & throw constantly.
As a Chiefs fan, I was a little nervous when they took him, but once I looked at his highlights & his numbers, I had very little doubts. I started wondering how other teams couldn’t see it. Seemed like a relatively small amount of research to find that stuff out, especially if you’re a GM getting paid hundreds of thousands (or millions) of dollars a year.
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 Yeah. This is so easy to see I can't imagine how GMs get paid millions and hire so many scouts to do their jobs when any Tom, Dick and Harry can spot talent from a mile away.
He wouldn't have been a bust. He had an insane amount of reps and scoring on a dysfunctional college team and still got picked 10th.
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192Yes he did 😂😂😂 and he throws a lot of picks now as well
It took CMc a couple years to be able to run effectively. He was mostly a fast pass catching back as a rookie. Still was fun to watch
What you said about fournette feeling like he’s been around forever was so accurate had to give this a like haha I was thinking that right when you said that

As a Bears fan everytime I have to relive the draft trade decision to live up for Mitch gives me an upset stomach
Hopefully, THE BEARS 🐻 🧸 don't make the same mistake again in this 2024 Draft , and instead TRADE DOWN 👇, and let some other SUCKER take the USC ( O.J.U./L.A. SLASHER🔪🗣️ "university" ) QB🏈 ...
And history is about to repeat itself in Chicago. Fields isn't the problem there and they should do one of the following. Trade that first pick and load up with extra picks
Or
Get rid of the coach and ownership.
They're not close to competing anytime soon in all they're going to do with Fields is trade one rookie quarterback for a new one
I'd stick with Fields. There's enough quarterbacks coming out this year that they can get one later in the first or second round.
Justin Fields is hardly the only problem in Chicago. I would stick with him and draft a RB or Receiver
I would trade down by two positions and take Marvin Harrison Jr instead of a QB
Bears GM Ryan Pace got his pocket picked by the 49ers who told the young Bears GM they had another call from a team looking to trade up ! So our wonderful GM traded 4 picks to move up one place in the draft. Of course he had to take Mitch Trubisky instead of Patrick Mahomes ! Funny how things played out & Trubisky is just a backup QB barely hanging on.
The Bears got to the playoffs when Mitch was there and WHERE are they now? Team destiny.
@@ag4allgood I was rooting for Mitch with the steelers, but he lost his job to a 3rd string qb.
I had forgotten Jay Cutler even existed.
Statistically speaking, he's far and away the best quarterback the Bears have ever had. Which is kind of sad, but they have a history of building a strong defense rather than a strong offense.
@@dominicpancella3012 Yeah that is what makes it even worse. The only QBs I really remember for the Bears are McMahon, Tomczak, Trubisky, who if you ask me in 20 years I would have forgotten if he was not tied to Mahomes, and Fields. Your comment made me curious about the Bears QBs and looked some numbers up.. I had forgotten Doug Flutie even played for the Bears.
The 49ers would have been unstoppable with mahomes
They'd be going for the 6-peat now. Shanahan has dragged a bunch of half-arse QBs to NFC title games and Super Bowls. With Mahomes, they'd be 17-0 most seasons.
The 49ers didn't have Jimmy G, when this draft took place.
no but they did have Alex smith. at that time 49ers weren't looking for a qb in the draft
@funtyes1970 Alex was a Chief three seasons prior to this draft. In 2017, the 49ers started the season with Brian Hoyer as their QB. They definitely needed to be in the market.
Haha recognised that voice ...great content sweat
The fact that Fornette hasn't been in the league that long feels wrong. Like it really does seem dude was in the league around the same time as the Legion of Boom. Idk why but yeah it's weird he's as young as he is somehow lol
Right! I wonder if he will become a larger factor next year
It’s because him and Legarrett Blount feel like the same person
I mean I remember him frustrating LSU fans like 7 or 8 years ago so that kinda caps his tenure in the NFL lol

What is wild is the stories behind Chicago passing on Mahomes is pretty crazy. The GM then based one factor on the vehicle Trubisky drove and raved how humble it was.
Leading into the draft Steve Maricucci had a deal on NFL network. It’s on UA-cam where he looked at top QBs.
Trubisky obviously was tops. But a guy high on draft boards ranked then over Mahomes was Kizer.
New Orleans was gonna select Mahomes. Sean Payton had him as his top pick then. But once Reid selected Mahomes they went defense.
I think the next one should be what happened to the 198 players before Tom Brady. I know it was a while ago but I would like to know!
Watch "the brady 6" here on youtube, that was made back when Brady had only 3 rings, but long story short there were 6 qbs picked before Brady, so he went ahead and won a ring for each of them 😂
@@ivanramirez3303 BUT they didn't go to the Pats, Brady wasn't a good QB when he was drafted.
Mahomes on the bears would've failed. Ppl seem to forget mahomes was a project and sat an entire yr developing and learning. If he was thrown into the bears system he'd of been a bust
That Christian McCaffery pick was a good one
How many rings McCaffery got ?
@@LABoutaBagDoeAs someone who was rooting for the Chiefs, McCaffrey did everything he could to win that Super Bowl on Sunday
@LABoutaBagDoe That definitely is not McCaffery's fault he doesn't have any rings. Just like Mahomes had the good fortune of being picked up by Andy Reid, McCaffery had the bad misfortune of being picked up by Ron Rivera and the Carolina Panthers. McCaffery since being traded to San Francisco has made the NFC Championship game and now the Super Bowl. I think he's doing just fine......
Mahomes might not be the rising legend he is today if the dumpster fire the Bears were at that time drafted him. He may have had one or two terrible seasons with them and put on that "failure/backup material" list. The Chiefs had a great coach and roster from hell lined up for him. Tyreek instantly makes any QB look much better because hey, just overthrow it deep and you are likely to get stacked numbers or even a TD. Look at the start of Miami's season when Tago went from his previous so-so status to hey, this guy could be legit! That's on Tyreek.
Only mentioning the 1-4 record as a starter was the kindest thing ever said about Nathan Peterman's NFL career.
In the future, I think we'll be talking about "All Pro" rather than Pro Bowls as accolades when discussing if a player's career was a success. Cuz Derek Carr made the Pro Bowl last year. Mitch Trubisky made the Pro Bowl once. Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield made it this year. Mac Jones made the Pro Bowl 3 years ago. It's mostly from all the top stars opting out, and it gets down to decent players only, not pro bowlers.
Patrick's career is fantastic, stop trying to understand or decipher it, enjoy it, he is different, a crack, an outstanding athlete, the fact that he was the pick 10 makes him even more incredible because of his fighting ability.
Television journalists often make malicious comments on purpose because they have interests
He's the man and a great person as well. Class act.
Chad Kelly is now playing in the CFL and has won 1 Grey Cup already with the Toronto Argos
As a bengals fan I can’t believe we didn’t take mahomes
Thank you for being a realist. Too many Bengals fans will never admit that. Same with Bills mafia.
To bad bengals🤣all of chiefskingdom thanks you!!
Imagine a lineup with both Mahomes and Burrow under center... MIND BLOWING!!!
Yep Bengals have 2 rings if they draft Mahomes.. Last year and 2021
He wouldn’t have done shit anywhere but the chiefs
I live in Chicago and I can’t believe that the Bears took Mitch Trubisky
The hilarious part is that the Bears traded up ahead of San Francisco when they didn't need to
Given what we know about their careers now and how they turned out. I'd probably pick Mahomes as the guy to build my team around. It's harder to find an elite-level QB than it is a RB and they make a bigger difference in the game. CMC is a generational RB talent but I think QB is just overall a more important position and they also generally have longer careers.
Both are great options though
Mahomes wasn’t put in a position to save the franchise as he sat as a backup his rookie season. The chiefs was only a Qb away from being Super Bowl contenders. Teams drafting top 5 have needs almost everywhere so it’s not like any team that drafted Mahomes would have been superbowl contenders and that’s not true whatsoever
Also, the Panthers already had Cam Newton, who was mvp in 2015 and good in 2016
Duh. Everyone would.
This ain’t a hot take
Elite quarterbacks with generational talent coming out of college are a dime a dozen. That's why we have so many busts. On the other hand, HoF QBs that were drafted low or went undrafted, those are the true diamonds. Name me 10 that went past the 5th and I'll be waiting forever.
8000th sub 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Goat🫡❤️
You should do the same thing for Brock Purdy
As the #1 CHIEFS fan in Arizona I say BULLY!
cringe
Mitchell Trubisky just got released by the Steelers.
Anyone would be pleased to have a Christian McCaffrey who arguably may be the best football player in the NFL, but to build a franchise around a running back; a position that on average lasts 5-7 years vs a QB who could play for twice that long or more seems to be a no-brainer.
No one was right choice before Patrick mahomes
Can't knock the Browns for going with Garrett. He might be the Mahomes of defense. Besides, the Browns would've ruined Mahomes.
Cleveland, and Washington, ....places where quarterbacks go to die,
Mahomes is a Phenom!
Loved Mike W but yes his injuries do be getting out of control
Hopefully he bounces back next season!
@@FantasyPhenoms he prolly gonna bounce on outta the team. I’d be surprised if he stayed.
Patrick Mahomes without a doubt!!!
To be fair, Mahomes came out of the Big 12, whose QB’s have historically not done very well in the NFL.
But what I quite don’t understand is unc isn’t known for anything football so how is Mitchell rated higher for playing for a worse school
So it's another cj stroud situation just because he was from ohio state everyone said he was a bust
@@Texansfan59that’s not why Mahomes was overlooked. The offense that was incorporated at Texas tech was not a very NFL style offense, this mattered a bunch 7+ years ago
I highly disagree with basing decisions and trying to judge a QB based on history and trends. I know its only been a year but I heard a guy saying CJ Stroud was gonna suck because Ohio doesnt usually produce good QBs and boom sucka!! Also, Tua looked good in Alabama……
@@JohnAC4 thats not true kliff kingsbury made an offense that was similar to how nfl offenses played and the nfl was also making their offense a little more similar to college to ease the transition for college qbs.this one is just your classic blunder by most stubborn owners and gm
So its been talked about a ton here locally, but the Saints wanted to trade up to get Maholmes but according to Patrick himself he informed the Chiefs of this and thus the Chiefs traded up before the Saints to grab him
The 49ers did not have jimmy g at the draft they traded for him at the deadline
You right, so they could've taken him
No amount of bleach will ever erase the fact that Ryan Pace traded up to draft Trubisky. I'm still trying to find the college tape that made Mitch so highly regarded. Probably hard to find as he only started 13 games in college.
Puppy Bowl Patrick macbones ❤❤❤❤
The team around a quarterback matters.
2017 was an amazing draft class that is going to have 5 or 6 Hall of Famers. Crazy that Myles Garrett is one of the best number one overall picks of all time and yet in a redraft he's probably going 2nd or 3rd.
Bills traded their pick to the Chiefs and we got Mahomes for it, what a steal and we've been beating their ass ever since. 🏆🏆🏆
as a bears fan from the UK i will always rule the day we picked MT over PM
You should do this with Brock Purdy!
That’ll be a looooooong video🤣😂🤣
Thank you for reminding Jet fans that we should have picked PATRICK MAHOMES!!😮😊😅😂😢
Actually, John Ross retired a few weeks into training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs, 2023.
This is why I NEVER get too excited about the draft It's a graveyard of 1st/2nd round picks. It all depends on the surrounding players, the culture and the coach.
my 2 favortie teams passed on Mahomes. niners and jets. You know it haunts meh. lol
No. Would no have mattered if the Bears had picked Mahomes. The problem isn’t the athletic talent but the coaching in Chicago. They would’ve chewed and spit him out!
People saying Reid was the only coach for Mahomes to turn out this way...yo, Reid doesn't make Mahomes Mahomes. He does teach, and utilize him, but Mahomes takes Reid from the Marty Schottenheimer club into the Bill Walsh league of coaches. It does take a good or even great coach. So that part applies regardless. But coaches without a QB don't win SB's unless you are the Baltimore Ravens with that Ray Lewis Defense, and awesome Oline, a strong tailback, Shannon Sharpe at TE, solid receivers, and one of the all-time best FG kickers where Trent Dilfer could not only game manage...which is the foundation of winning QB play...but he could error on the side of playing safe...which is not winning QB play. That's the only example I can think of. The Steelers had similar teams, but they also had Bradshaw or Big Ben playing, so they were better there. 85 Bears as well...very similar. That D, Sweetness, etc. At least similar, but rare and still, McMahan was pretty decent.
You pretty much gotta have D up to par, the Oline up to par, a QB, and a coach to win. Ranking them, I'd put QB first, then coach. Then recruit, trade, and build around the QB as needed. Mahomes is more important to this success than Andy is. Both are critical.
As a Saints fan we were drafting Mahomes at 12….then the chiefs haddd to move up
Not even a question. You go with the best QB over the best RB every time and twice on Sunday.
Yeah I get it if people talk about "hindsight is 20/20" since no one (except the Chiefs apparently) knew how talented Mahomes was, but the fact that people are *still* justifying those picks as having been good ones given what we know now is so funny. No the Chiefs didn't make him who he is, he was already insane at Texas Tech if people stopped helmet scouting lol.
To be fair Mahomes wouldnt have had the same success uf he was drafted anywhere else. He went to a team who had a pro bowl qb and a history of mentoring the younger qbs and an offense mind legend of a coach.
Ppl also forget he went to the Chiefs that was a 12-4 team going into that draft and had a top pick on a technicality rather than a over bad team/record
Niners. He might have 4 rings working on his 5th.
... if* he had* been* drafted
Jets extracted a lot out of Adam's trade, and might get Corey Davis back from retirement. Passing grade.
Mahomes always had the talent to be as good as he is now, however, he was drafted into a perfect situation. Andy Reid, one of the greatest offensive minds of all time, as his head coach, Kelce and Tyreek, and a great veteran QB in Alex Smith to teach him in Mahomes’ first season. This definitely allowed Mahomes to reach his highest peak possible. So it’s clear he always had this talent to be one of the best of all time but I don’t know if he ever could’ve achieved it with the bears or the browns because of their terrible coaching and management.
You couldn’t convince me Nathan Pieterman was not a young backup for Jim Kelly’s last few seasons, then was a backup on 24 of the 32 franchises... Fornette does seem like a 10 year vet, but Pieterman seems like a 30 year vet.
Notable qbs I could’ve swore Pieterman backed up.
- Jim Kelly
- Rich Gannon/Jamarcus Russel
- Donovan McNabb (Eagles)
- Matthew Stafford (Lions)
- Aaron Rodgers
- Kurt Warner (Cards)
- Brett Favre (Vikings)
- Jay Cutler (Bears)
- Kirk Cousins (Vikings)
- Justin Fields
Nathan Peterman*, Leonard Fournette*
The fact is that most likely Mahomes would not have been the quarterback he is now if not for the Chiefs growing him into the best QB in the league. With their QB coach, Andy Reid, all the stud receivers he was gifted with, and a Qb in Alex Smith to grow up behind all made him into the person is now. So I can't say that everyone made a terrible choice not taking him because he wouldn't be the person he is without the chiefs.
Drafting Mahomes probably doesn't affect the Jags season, they probably should have made the Super Bowl, maybe even win it, the reason they didn't wasn't Bortles, so he probably doesn't play. That said, Bortles and the Jags drop off pretty immediately and Bortles doesn't play much after (i think only one season), what Mahomes may do is prevent the Jags from signing Nick Foles, which may have also not led to Foles injury (and perhaps a different career for him)
I think your next vid should be, "What happened to the 261 players drafted before Brock Purdy". Think of the UA-cam monetization possibilities! 🤔
Love it! It’ll be done by next Superbowl
9:30 "I would go as far to say he was one of the best in the league..."
The guy had one of the worst offensive lines of all time statistically, barely any running game to help him out, average receivers in his third year, and had to deal with Bill O'Brien as both a GM and a head coach, yet after his three years with the Texans, he had the highest career completion percentage of all time. "I would go as far to say he was one of the best in the league..." is a disrespectful statement to all that he achieved and had to overcome. Me personally, I would go as far to say Mahomes couldn't have done that. Watson was the best in the league. Sucks that the off the field stuff happened, because if he never returns to his old self, then we have missed what would've been something unlike anything we've ever seen before.
the cardinals were locked in to pick mahommes to replace carson palmer, but the chiefs traded up to get mahommes
You are 100% right about adams I didn’t like the draft when we did it really don’t like it now. But you’ve gotta kinda feel bad for the guy with all the injuries his shoulders, his fingers, that terrible knee injury. I wish the dude well but he’s just not worth keeping around and honestly I don’t think his body can handle much more.

Or st brown!!!!!
I'd love to hear the story about how Sean Payton was trying to draft him and Andy Reid jumped ahead, did Andy know Saints wanted Pat?
CMC and Mahomes situation is like Jordan and Hakeem. Both picks being really good and reasonable picks but Mahomes just edges out.
In a few years, we're all going to look back at what happened to other players from 2024. At pick 10 2024 draft JJ McCarthy. Mahomes was 22 when he was drafted, and McCarthy is 21. Chiefs decided to trade up for Mahomes move on from Alex Smith to Patrick Mahomes as vikings decided to trade up for McCarthy move on from cousins to McCarthy. I can for sure tell McCarthy is going to succeed with all the players around him.
I lived in Chicago when the Bears picked Mitch and I was like how do you not get DeShaun Watson or even Mahomes because he wasn't on everyone's radar. Myles would have been great also. How did Mitch get so overrated.
Can't go by what Patrick is now. You got to go with development that's what's happen to the Bears you have have the right surroundings with the right coaching
The video I want to see is what happened to the 9 GMs that passed on Patrick Mahomes, where are they now and what was the impact for them on that whiff?
Mahones ends up with a great coach, great team, and that is all you need. He was the Brock Purdy before Brock Purdy. If Brock Purdy was drafted by Andy Reid and so forth, who know. But it was Mahomes....and it is what it is. You can't change the past.
Nobody stays healthy anymore and no-one will until they stop playing on CARPETS!
It's not the carpets that's the problem. It's the concrete underneath.
hard to be bitter if you draft myles garrett or CMC
Amazing, Josh McCown was on the Browns AND the Jets during the Mahomes draft?
Garrett was beast in college and is even better in the NFL. Absolutely no shame on Browns part. He's literally as good as it gets at his position. In hindsight, and depending on what team we're talking about, Garrett, CMC and Mahomes would all be a first pick in a re do.. Even now. If players of this caliber come into a draft and you're the Ravens, would it make sense to draft a QB
Teams need to enter the draft and take the best player available for a position they need to fill . As the video said, a lot of these teams already had a QB or they were giving the ones they had more time. Mitch was a mistake, but the other teams drafted a position they had a bigger urgency on
Hindsight is always 20/20
you remember when they knocked out warren moon . and it was in si how to hold his wrists and drive him into the ground ...
Can’t you do this for every draft in football and basketball? I mean let’s be realistic can’t we go down a list of players drafted before Brock Purdy?
people laugh at the bears for taking tribisiki but the real crime was the 49ers trading down and still passing on him...he would have been great for shannhan and they needed a QB to start their era
The browns missed out on Brady, Mahomes, Watson(they got him now), Allen, and Jackson
The NFL Draft is an inexact science to say the least. It's very difficult to say how great quarterbacks would perform if they were picked by a lowly team who is picking a QB with the first pick. Mahomes was able to sit and learn his first season in the NFL with the Chiefs. If he was thrown into the fire right away, his bust chance goes up significantly. A year to learn under a QB/offensive guru like Andy Reid, a talented quarterback has a much, much better chance to succeed than if he was picked #1, or early in the draft, by a shit team!!!!
as a saints fan im always thinking what if the chiefs never moved up to #10 and new orleans selected him at 11 like they planned to.
