- Special Thanks to Xanvier For porting code from the final game to fix the main menu! In this video i explore the beta main menu of carbon and discover lots of things and also stuff like beta vinyls
the beta main menu was shown before on this channel without fixes back in 2015: ua-cam.com/video/YgR_YahU9xg/v-deo.html . you can clearly see how much the fixes actually change the menu from being a useless crash trigger to the actual menu, you can all thank Xanvier for that :D

Can the freeroam button be fixed?
races and freeroam don't work at all, freeroam just gives you a black screen with ambience sounds where as quick race spits out an out of memory error
And this fix is useless with the beta menus mod as the beta main menu in the final game uses the final games code which is what was used here to fix the game. however porting the beta menu code for the other menus could be a possibility but xan tried to port ride pitch and the data that the ride pitch changes is not there in the final game, this doesn't rule it out but it does make it much harder to achieve.

Amazing video, clicked the notification really fast. I was really surprised to see the option of changing the 'headlight color' - well that would've been pretty cool, even with just 2 options. Shame that license plates got cut again, come on.. But all that aside, it's fascinating to see the menu actually working - great job by Xanvier.
I have a question: what is the track from 8:53 onwards called? I don't remember seeing tracks from cutscenes anywhere without voices and sounds. It sounds so clean and not at all muffled or distorted. I wonder if there's HQ cutscene soundtrack anywhere?

it is used in a cutscene, and yes there is a soundtrack release from trevor morris which has the cutscene tracks without voices. that specific song is named "Darius' Ultimatum"

it's that the fng (menu) file (that is taken from final build) doesn't work well with code from such older build (opm demo). if it had real older fng, it would work well as intended

Those cars are basically just left overs from NFSC or street vehicles.
I recall putting the PS2 disc of Carbon into my old white Windows PC and doing some weird stuff with the AutoSculpt. Perhaps there's some more hidden stuff there?

Quite possibly the console was too weak to handle that many cars. XBOX, PS2, and GC also had that problem. All of these consoles had only 4 cars in regular races, while PC, X360 and PS3 had up to 8.

i have decompressed the .exe file (for most wanted 2005) and its gave me a bunch of files i have no idea what they do but i thought i would ask you incase you would want it because it has no use to me and all of the files you get can just be decompressed normally and also i noticed theres a smaller version of the need for speed most wanted 2005 inside the exe i havent opened it yet

zazxazza well i have a problem. I cant even activate all beta menus on freeroam. Cos it needs to replace a lot of Fng + it took me 1-3 hours to do. I wish MW beta menu was fixed on freeroam and change place. Cos when you play freeroam on demo you spawn rosewood not camden but you can do via cheatengine like speedy did.
