Jesus Christ masterpiece in 4 hours while mixing every single color to custom values. The knowledge is vast. Execution masterfull. Thank you Marco, its a privilage to see the process.
This is absolute madness! I can't say that you've outdone yourself, because everything you make is freaking crazy! But god damn, brother! This is beautiful!
HaHaHaHa - someone disliked it Really?
With Cursed City out would love to see your take on vampires. Another amazing video, thank you for sharing and please stay safe.
I really love these alternative painting method videos. They really open up the possibilities and tie mini painting more into the art world
Marco looks like Doc Ock with those lamps behind him 😂🤣.
This comment is underrated.
Request for a practical way to help: mixing colours on the palette. It is helpful to see sped up on many of your videos, but what about one that focuses on those little techniques and brush work, amount of paint to add, cleaning brush between colours, and such.
As you say elsewhere, different paintlines have different results in colour result, and that's not what I mean. I mean more about the actual techniques of mixing colours. This is something I struggle with personally.
Thanks!
Yes, I would love to see a little of how the sausage is made too. Looks like you are applying unmixed paint directly to the model. MADNESS! :)
I hope one day to be half as good as you Marco! You absolutely blow me away every video. Hands down you are my favorite miniature painter on UA-cam, and your videos are much appreciated.
phenomenal. I feel like a toddler with a crayon sitting in a university master’s degree course lecture on art theory and practice! Mind BLOWN.
Adding blue to yellow for the hair to make it peach, I didn't even know that existed...
where can I get this mini
It's from Kingdom Death, Echoes of Death 3 expansion! It should be still in stock
Did I miss something? Are these the paints you use now? No standard mini brands?
Ps: another amazing video. Would love to see you use some of the molotow spray cans to replicate some of your airbrush work! :)
I rarely use standard mini brands 😉
MAESTRO!!!
Fantastic. I loved your first Zorn palette video and this one is amazing. I love how you condense so much information and convey it so simply. This is one I will be rewatching and learning every time I do.
totally off-topic, but I was watching all the past "color theories" videos and now notice your new "light stands" (the black ones with the knobs). They look flexible and this is really intriguing. Do have a "key word" / product name for those that you could share?
Check this video for all the info 😊😉😊! ua-cam.com/video/yAiB15yWiLw/v-deo.html
Holy smoke! The non-metalic metal is amazing
"My wife always tells me I'm heavy-handed with makeup"....your wife lets you put on makeup on her?! Mine won't even let me look at it!
Hahahaha no no no it's about my female characters and the correct quote is "you make them always too slutty" 😅😅😅
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM lol. keep up the good work, love the channel
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM This reminds me of a scene from the show Friends when Ross puts make up on Rachel after she broke a rib. XD
Michelangelo.... Is that you?
😂
Wow, cool
To achieve such a result, most mini painters will employ thousands of dollars worth of paint. Marco just employed a million dollars worth of skill instead.
The question is, where did you get those gorilla arms for your lamps? I am currently in need of one to mount my face cam. Please share a link.
Absolutely awesome video, you're an inspiration Marco!
Great... As always... Gonna try this for sure, just a bit scared about using my own mix of colours.
Non so se ti amo o ti odio di più! 😂😂😂
Hahahahaha eros e thanatos sono inseparabili 😂
I must admit i am jealous on your ability to make magic with your paints
Awesome!
Some more of these and you'll finally get me to buy some pure pigment colors.
Thanks once again Marco, love the limited palette video's, they really force me to get out of my comfort zone. I have sooooo many paints that i really don't need.
Very inspiring. I have two spare AoS Slaves to Darkness chariot horses I'll be trying this technique out with. Thank you for caring enough to give people homework rather than just 'here's what I can do'.
You always here the mantra, Hard work overtakes talent when talent doesn't work hard. Folks, this is what it looks like, when talent works hard. Amazing Marco, truly amazing. I know it's a KDM fig. What is the name of this one by chance? I will follow your advice and example and practice more, work harder but above all have fun doing it. Love your work.
😍😍😍😘
Hey the model is the Sword Oath fighting art model from the Echoes of Death 3 collection.
New lamps after the studio tour :o! Share us the secrets! I absolutely love how the armor went from magenta-ish to that!
Oh yeah, I built them myself 😁 and a complete new structure all around! I'll share a step by step build soon 😉
That silver armor...just burgundy and white!? Amazing. I may have to give this a go on this very model!
This is amazing. Very inspirational, I will try it.
Anybody knows who makes that miniature?
They are from the game Kingdom Death
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM thank you
Hellooo guyyyss!
Great video Marco, you’ve made me want to give something like this a go. It’s just a bit scary taking the jump into mixing colours from scratch and not relying on the safety net of the usual pots
What model is that? Its awesome!
It's from Kingdom Death, echoes of death 3 expansion!
The modern Da Vinci of minis
😊😍😊😘
Hi Marco,
This is amazing!
It looks like you have some 'classical training', isn't it? Tell us more about that :-)
I want to try this. Seems relaxing, like you said.
Would this work with my ArmyPainter paints?
(I got the small set of 9 colours, which contain black, white, yellow, red, blue)
Best regards!
Thank u for the class, where could i find the miniature?
It's from Kingdom Death! Echoes of Death 3 expansion 😊
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM awesome miniatures!, thank u so much for the info!
I love seeing your application of the Anders Zorn palette for miniatures. Zorn was a master of the limited palette. Your expertise of the palette is evident in the final result with this figure, it's stunning!
Thanks a million!!!
Hi! Beautiful miniature! Can you give us the link where we can find the same brushs as yours?
this is the way to learn/mixing painting not buying 150 colors out of the box
amazing Marco
that jump from the start of the armour NMM to the finished result is like watching Leonardo da Vinci start the sketch, then jump to finishing the Mona Lisa. So cool!
Impressive results for 4 hours, damn.
Your skills are amazing! Perfect paint job!
Your 3-4 hours is half a lifetime for me. 🤣🤣🤣 Loved this video Marco.
Great work once again! Really love this series
Marco, have you ever done a personal challenge where you have to compare your results painting similar models in different time frames? 4 hours, 1 hour, 30 min and 10 min.
If you already did it, is on video? If not, please do it!
Insane brother, this is incredible. I wish I could do this in an evening...
Kneel before Zorn!
Hahahahahah I'm sure he was secretly a Kryptonian 😂
Cursed City speed painting when?
As soon as I get my box 😁 It's taking more than expected 😥
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM Ah damn. I'm still waiting for mine as well. Was hoping, as a youtuber, you'd get one earlier 😪
After all your videos so far, and may you produce them for a long time, I wonder if you tried to paint a backlighted mini, i.e a character in front of a giant billboard?
Absulutely amazing work!
Masterwork.
I think I especially love the hair.
And that you can do this with so few colours... :-O
Absolutely beautiful. I see the specific time spent to study color is incredible on a miniature. I'm basic, I try to get by with the citadel sangria of paint. Thanks for all the videos, I'm learning more of mediums, and the value of zenithal + transparency control
Very inspirational! So true about the colours you realy need. I only use the primary colours, black, white, mid-grey and magenta to mix everything i need. I love to experiment width additives and pigments.
Bellissimo video.
I always love to see people do a lot with a small set of tools. Glorious!
Stunning work! Probably the most interesting miniture video I've seen this year. Gotta give this a try!
What model is this?
thnx ..love your stuff so cool :}
I just painted a tiefling and he looks like crap, this was exactly the video I needed to figure out where to go from all the flat monotone surfaces on his armor and weapons to create interest and turn it into something worthwhile. thank you.
always great to see your videos Marco, its all about knowing colours. you are truly a master,
What if we don't have white paint?
Absolutely brilliant as always, thank you Marco
Marco: "Hey guys I have to practice too you know"
*produces a masterclass in 4 hours*
Me: ಠ_ಠ
😂😂😂 the idea is more, "do your best in 4 hours"! It's much easier to see and compare your advancement when you set a fixed set of rules for the paintjob
Another great video Marco!
That was amazing! I learned neat things :-)
Good god man! That was awesome!
I think I should just burn my brushes now 😮😬🤣🤣🤣 just amazing Marco 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I'm coming back and discovering a lot of great stuff. Thanks Marco!
ZORN pallete reference to just 4 colors?
Yup it's these colours or similar ones drawpaintacademy.com/zorn-palette/ He also has another video on it were he explains things as well. 😁
Yah...posted this before thebvid came out. Meant to ask thrnlive chat, lol.
Looks lovely.
nice
Dammit Marco! That display of expertise is incredible. You control colours as simple as breathing haha, it is just not control... I'd say that you dominate them "Colourbender". Thank you sir.
😱😱😱😱
Nice!
Freaking awesome job. 4 hours 4 colors +black and white, amazing. Thanks for the video.
Wow, your colour mixing capabilities are unmatched.
this is what it was like for us all in the old days as kids we could only afford the basic 8 colour set from citadel but thats all we needed as we mixed and made are own colours as we move on in the years and companies start to appear dedicated to paints we just started getting hooked to them. i have myself i got the box set of army paints. tbh half the colours in it are just paler shades of the colour next to it. rather than colours we would use. if i want a gray i will make it from black and white if i want a blue gray etc so over the years we now just reach for the colour we need rather than making it from a limited pallet. we are all guilty of this. we all have paints we hardly use etc. we fall into the marketing gimmick thinking more is better. when we was kids we only had a limited amount of sweets in the shop. it was easy to pick the ones we loved. now like paints you spend 20 mins staring and wondering what paint or sweet we want. great video. great paint job. as expected :)
Hi Marco,
Enjoyable video as always :)
I am looking to trying this exercise out to get a better understanding of mixing colours. However I am using the scalecolor and fantasygames colors. I have a set with almost all of them but not the artist range. I know that these paint dont have pure pigments and I am afraid they will get dull when mixing. Do you have any suggestions on which to use for this exercise? I also have some CMY inks from liquitex. Thanks a lot for all your content! :)
this is awesome. I really want to challenge myself to paint a model only using the 5 basic color, Blue, Red, Yellow, White, and Black, and color theory.
Great as always Marco! Thanks for your always amazing content.
You've done it again. I'm flabbergasted.
For me it is easyer to use a needel to paint the eye or set the pupil.
You can use the tool you prefer to get the result but the brush is the absolute peak of "painting technology" and if you train yourself using it for this kind of stuff your skills will drastically improve!
Which size of brush did you use for the eyes? Is a 0 size brush? Or smaller? Awesome work as always Marco.
I recently tried my hand at a limited pallet. Just primary colors and black and white. I thought it turned out well, then you drop this video and I'm rethinking my position lol! Once again, you've truly outdone yourself! Fantastic painting!
Found this channel a few weeks ago and its quickly become my new favorite. Super informative stuff! Thanks for the time and effort you put into your videos
Really awesome! I laughed at the NMM armor jump cut, hahaha
Simply amazing. I love your limited palette videos and you never cease to amaze with your skill and traditional art knowledge bombs!
So much energy in this one marco! You always sound so happy and happy to share techniques. I love you and your content :D
Most beautiful thing I've seen today.
Your accuracy with painting the face is amazing. How you manage to pull off so many details on such a small crammed space is beyond me. I spent 5 hours painting not even half as decent face yesterday as you did in a few minutes.
Marco stop teaching me new Things! I allways have try those out :)
Bosh. My mind has been truly blown.
Fascinating as always. I need to rewatch try this.
LOVE the new set up, what are those lights?
Great video bud, need to try this soon. Great way to make you work on your paint mixing 😁
Stunning!
So many different treatments of the different volumes, great texturing strokes, fantastic tones for vivid blonde hair, lovely treatment on the cloak, great movement
Wow I must have been typing too much to notice how lovely that very light silver armour is, stealing that look for scifi armour, especially some female androids I've been saving
That hem effect on the cloak goes right onto cloth for the Crimson Court vampires, no question
Marco was on fire for this one, just checkout that finished figure, what a stunning piece
Hi Marco, I'm fairly new to this miniture painting. What is the purpose of floating the paper in the water and is the paper any special type.
It's called a wet palette (google it) and he is using parchment paper that you use for baking I presume.
@@AndrewH2791 Thanks for that will Google.
I have a video about wet palettes 😊ua-cam.com/video/6cn7U5rBJUg/v-deo.html
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM Great video Marco, now I understand what is happening. I'll have to give it a try, unfortunately I'll have to eat some chocolate first .
Amazing! Thanks for sharing!!!
