Because the bag panel is one long piece, that print will be upside down on one side! If working with a directional print one needs to cut two panels, one each for front and back. In so doing cut bag panels 1/2 in length,, adding 1inch to give you a 1/2 seam allowance to sew the front and back panels together, flipping one panel so that the print is going in the correct direction upwards! If working with a non-directional print or solid fabric, you may proceed as this tutorial directs! All just FYI! 🤗
A few tips - It is much easier to sew the straps onto the right sides of the outer panel, place outer bag inside inner lining bag (which has a small 4-inch side opening unsewn for turning later), and sew across the top. Pull the bag out through the unsewn side lining seam. Place lining back down inside, sew the opening closed and top stitch the top edge of the bag to complete the project. Also much easier to use mini clips as needed, instead of pins.
Great tips thanks for sharing and watching. I def prefer pins over clips- clips aren’t as accurate but I know lots of people prefer them. I’m more old school on that one 🙌
Emma this was so good and a great first video! I have always wanted to learn to sew and you made it look so easy! Your explanation of each step was very helpful, even for someone who doesn't sew much, lol! Great job girl!!!
Loved your bag making but not the music. Moments when I could not hear you properly against the background of the music. I am older and have hearing problems.

Sorry to hear that, I will def take that into consideration. Thanks for watching

Sew over pins😱 so dangerous. Never ever sew over pins.
It’s how I got taught on my costume degree. Only dangerous if you go fast. Go slow over those pins and it’s no issue. 🙌
