The second time you fight Sylux he calls his ship in to fight Samus.
I knew, in my heart of hearts, that in the first hour of the upload, someone would catch a glaring clue I forgot about! Thanks man. 😄
Because he’s not man enough to do it himself.
No that happens the first time. All hunters have a scripted first encounter. After that it's random.
Because he’s not man enough to do it himself.
There's also the secret ending of Federation Force where he hatches a Metroid egg and presumably takes the larva. The trailer said this takes place in 20X9, which is three years after Federation Force, so presumably his larva Metroid was able to be used as a genetic donor for clone material like the Baby in Super.
That is literally the most important plot point about him lol.
Metroid Prime Hunters was underrated as fuck and I'm still mad about it.
Nah it was appropriately rated. I isn't much of a Metroid game. You only find new weapons, no new abilities.
It's totally a Prime game though. Like really a portable mini-Metroid Prime game and they did an amazing job with it considering the limitations they had with the hardware.
It's true most people usually forget its existence because it's handled, from the Prime series and not hated or praised. It definitely deserves a remake cause it aged poorly for different reasons but the game itself is good.
People didn't think that the ship at the end of Metroid Prime 3 Corruption belonged to Sylux because of the colour, but Because it was the same ship we see them have in Metroid Prime Hunters!
As for his motives, my guess is that for whatever reason, Samus has a bounty on her head, and Sylux wants to get paid.
There’s another fan theory suggesting that Sylux hates the Federation (look at the first intro cutscene to Prime Hunters, my boi dive bombs and kills a soldier literally just to make an entrance) and hates Samus by association.
@@MageBurger isn't that info from the Metroid Hunters guidebook?
@@verity_amo I haven’t read the Hunters guidebook.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Sylux hating the Federation was confirmed canon, the fan theory part was hating Samus by association.
@@MageBurger"Sylux was already in pursuit of Samus Aran when the Alimbic transmission was broadcast. For reasons no one knows, Sylux has long nursed an intense hatred of the Galactic Federation, its member planets, and most of all, its star bounty hunter, Samus." -Metroid Prime Hunters: The Official Nintendo Player's Guide
This was never a theory, it's always been canon info lol
@@verity_amo ah, gotcha. Fair enough, I’ll pack my bags then.
Sylux has to be adam
sylux is still female in my headcanon! xD
It was actually confirmed he it was sylux ship at the end of prime 3 and he also officially appears at the end of federation force, stealing a baby Metroid
I bet he is Adams Malkovichs Brother. So that scene in Other M is not just a waste :v
3:24 there is no legal copy of Metroid trilogy on the computer 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Iirc space pirates will follow the strongest leader in command.
makes sense, seeing as how they’ve followed a dinosaur and a blue samus
Plot twist, sylux is her family in some way, like her brother or father. Idk would be lit to see
Hmmm maybe! She was raised by the Chozo, who gave her the power suit. You see similar ones in Dread. Sylux’s suit looks pretty different, plus there’s his weird alien scream in the Hunters opening?
He does still use an arm cannon though. Hmmm, good one to noodle on. Without spoiling, the father thing has already been addressed ;)
Actually those are real Metroid behind sylux, at the end of federation force (yes federation force) there is a scene where Sylux raids a base and steals a cloned metroid
Sylux stole a metroid egg and made it hatch. Also the ones in the Metroid Prime 4 trailer aren't metroids but mochtroids.
@@kyurei4478 exactly, mochtroids are a much weaker variant of metroids, and since the species is reliant on their queens to produce more, that must mean Sylux got a Metroid who can’t become a queen and so resorted to mochtroid generation.
@@acrazyweeb7225 Good theory. Also maybe they wanted a faster process to create metroids. Btw they never really explained the difference to differenciate a normal metroid from a future queen. The only notable difference I see is Samus' baby got really big at the end of Super Metroid but that's basically it. Other M should have revealed that the baby was supposed to become a queen apparently.
There really isn't a way to differentiate future queens and mere future omegas, the reason DaBaby got huge was because of all the beta rays overloading and manifesting as the Metroid becoming well, a super Metroid.
So should it have been taken back to SR388, it would've probably become one of the galaxy's biggest life forms around.
Oh I don't remember of this beta rays thing or that they were experimenting on it to make it stronger and bigger. I guess there is indeed no way to tell then, much like the aliens in Alien so this stays close to the source material.
Hunters is the only Metroid game i've played so far, and I've been telling myself 4 would be a great time to get in on the mainline Prime games since (presumably) the Phazon saga is over. Great jumping on point for somebody who didn't play them!
And then 4 shows up with Sylux and I'm like "Wait what? The only game I've ever played is gonna be relevant? Sign me the fuck up!"
Yeah! There was pretty much no question left unanswered when 3 ended, so there’s no reason to suspect the Phazon saga’s plot will continue. I still recommend Prime Remastered on the switch :)
I did play Prime 1, but grew up on Hunters. In fact, Hunters and the Demo DS game are probably the very reasons I became a Metroid fan at all, because I then played Super, Zero Mission, Prime 1 and Prime 3 a decade after I first played Hunters.
I love sylux and I don’t even play Metroid I just knew abt him
What if he is Samus' brother and he could be Samus' Vergil ?
