- Metroid Prime 4 may be a bit of a mystery, but there are more details out there about this game than many realize, and when you pool all the details across the development over the Nintendo Switch era, and what we know about Nintendo Switch 2, together it tells us a lot.

I hope Metroid prime 4 shows up at the game awards. There were just so many heavy hitters that came out this year Metroid prime 4 showing up would just be the cherry on top.
I think Tanabe wants to use "time travel" to tell Sylux's story throughout time without interrupting the gameplay with cutscenes. That’s would be interesting.
Bear in mind everyone, this is a CONCEPT of many of his ideas. This has LIKELY changed because of Dread and Prime Remastered, on top of that you all have to consider that whatever Retro Studios had shown is what caused the reset so all Tanabe is doing now is supporting them so we have to consider on what Retro is showing and not what Tanabe is saying.
I admire your dedication to this game.
If we don't get something out of Metroid Prime 4 by February, then it definitely is not a 2024 title.
Technically Metroid Dread was announced in June 2021 to release October 2021. That said, one Switch 2 is announced if Prime 4 is not shown then ill start to worry.
Mario wonder was announced 4 months before its release. Could happen any time before July.
There have been may times i seen them announce a game 3 or 4 months before it comes out .
I don't know about that. Tanabe put Sylux at the end of Federation Force stealing a Metroid larva from the GF, trying to tie in the ending of MP3 with FF, but the 3DS game he was so proud of flopped so hard it came to be known as Federation Flop on the internet. That, coupled with the resetting in development from scratch because Prime 4 wasn't up to standards, and how long it's been since those interviews, and I don't think we'll be seeing those ideas coming up in Prime 4.
I think Metroid Prime 4 will be announced in February or March. Along side the next Nintendo console

Federation Force was a disaster, critically and financially. I’m not convinced much of anything it tries to set up, let alone anything Tanabe floated beforehand, will feature in MP4. But I do have utmost faith it will be worth the wait. This game is going to hit like a meteor.
Yes, the Andres Metroid Prime 4 video! I am more exited for this than the daily, fake Switch 2 leaks.
And one planet is a much, much better idea for the whole tone of the Prime series. It's surviving alone on a planet, not zooming around with Space Marine. Leave that to Mass Effect or Halo. I liken Prime to more Myst in Space. Exploring an ancient world with everyone gone leaving only sparse clues.
I was recently watching your reaction video when TOTK announced it was in development. That cracked me up I loved the hype! I can only imagine your reaction hype when Metroid prime 4 is announced!
I have fond memories of both the Echoes and Hunters multiplayer, so I hope there is some sort of multiplayer reminiscent of those modes. In the modern landscape it would seem very odd to not have online functionality to pair with that.
On the other hand, it would be interesting if there was a parallel story akin to the Olimar parallel from Pikmin 3 where you play as Sylux hunting down Samus. A second hunter could be added to make the parallel story multiplayer, Weavel seems like a solid candidate given his reason to share Sylux's hate for Samus and his tie to the Space Pirates.
If they go with the time travel idea, it wouldn't shock me in the slightest. I don't remember the man's name but he was a developer at Retro Studios. He did a interview with a UA-camr discussing his experience working on the games. One part that came up is that he mentioned for "Echoes" originally they wanted to go with either the time travel idea or dark vs light world idea. They pitched both to Nintendo. As we all know Nintendo ultimately wanted to go for the light and dark world idea. So yeah... a high possibility!
Just based on everything I heard so far with who they hired to work on the game, someone who saw the game and was stunned by how visually it looks, I CANNOT WAIT for this game! This sounds like it's going to BLOW PEOPLE AWAY with how good this game is going to look and how great it will play!
On a final note, I was wondering how they would still be able to continue calling it "Prime" but based on those quotes you showed, the only way for that to make sense is to have "Sylux" or possibly Sylux working with the Space Pirates to create a new Metroid Prime. I never played Federation Force so I had no idea about him stealing a Metroid. I do know about Sylux following Samus at the end of Prime 3 though like Retro had originally planned to make a part 4 eventually.
I disagree with the control options of MP4. I think MP4 is going to be alot faster and that would be impossible with the gamecube controls.
The dual stick controls in MPR makes it too easy not to dominate ur environment (because its calibrated at gamecube controls).
I think it will be faster too actually, but still with dual analog controls.
I really hope for all the prime hunters to come back with a lot deeper lore
I think it would be awesome if they paid homage to the first game and revisited that opening sequence where you get the morph ball. Kind of like super Metroid when you go back and it's all run down and there's cameras. I would love to see that in 3-D.
I just want to see an update and a teaser of this game! I think we have waited long enough! 😉
Where do you think it will take place in the timeline? Personally, I think it would work to set a new trilogy somewhere else in the timeline, like after Dread and before whatever will happen in Metroid 6. Maybe it can involve a rogue element of the Federation and some other hunters like Sylux taking an interest in the process of splicing Metroid DNA with soldiers or the hunters to give them Metroid-like abilities like they witnessed in Samus. Then perhaps you fight some Metroid-enhanced hunters as the bosses, as they could be trying to capture or kill Samus, who is the new "Metroid Prime" in the galaxy and try to claim the title for themselves.
I have been of the opinion for a while that it won't even be called metroid prime 4. It will be in the prime style, sure. But I think possibly set after dread or at least not directly connected to the prime games. Perhaps the metroid he stole could be a secret "last metroid".
It's going to take place after Federation Force, which is after Prime 3 and before Metroid 2. Prime 4 can't take place in any other spot since Federation Force's ending shows Sylux steal a Metroid from the Galactic Federation, and Metroids are eradicated by Dread. If they place it after Dread with some sort of return of Metroids, I'd be disappointed.
@Dzzy123 I think part of me would be upset too, but with the BSL from Fusion and the bottle ship from Other M having made metroids, it is pretty likely that there are other parts of the GFS that know how to make them. Just imagine Exelion is the rogue faction of the GFS that LIVEvil is talking about. They could make Sylux a suit with EMMI level technology, while also creating bio-engineered monstrosities composed of Metroid and X dna.

Personally I think February 2025 is a good launch date since Metroid Prime Remastered was a February title. Metroid Prime (GameCube) was a November title so that also works.
I think it is coming along side with Switch 2. Which should be around March next year.
You are....far more optimistic about this game than I am. I'm convinced it just didn't pan out and got canceled years ago and that's why we haven't heard anything about it in 4 years
Still some of the key original Retro Studios staff working on it. Plus they have hired a lot of people who have worked on AAA graphically beautiful games.
Breath Of The Wild got delayed several times before it finally released. And we saw how good it turned out!
One thing is for sure Metriod Prime 4 on the Switch 2 will be the best looking graphically game yet for Nintendo.
@@C--A Going through your sources, the most recent proven source is 3 years old. The Xbox Podcast is secondhand information and I don't know how reliable that is. I'm huffing the copium every direct, but I don't know man. I want to believe it'll happen, and if it's on the Switch's successor it does sound like it'll look and feel fantastic. But it's been so long without any official news. Breath of the Wild released 4 years after its first teaser; MP4 has gone 6 so far.

If it's done, then why would they wait to release it? Are they in production mode for physical copies or something?
At this point I'd even welcome a HD port of Samus Returns fir the Switch like the one Luigi's Mansion 2 is getting with Fusion Mod and all the other Amiibo blocked content unlockable.

The situation with BotW was different because the WiiU and the Switch aren't too far off powerwise.
The Switch 2 sounds like a proper generational leap (or even more than that).
I mean it for sure isn't impossible but if i was them I would put it just on the Switch 2 as a showpiece title.
I really like the idea of the stolen Metroid becoming the new Prime, that’s an interesting take.
Let's hope to have finally something for 2024 about Metroid Prime 4 like somes news about the content or a release date. After all Nintendo have finished Pikmin 4 and Zelda Tears of the Kingdom as their two big games on Switch who take so much years to them before finally release them so I'm sure they are now focus on Metroid Prime 4. Unless it will take more time so maybe they gonna release Metroid Prime 2 and 3 Remastered in 2024 for we can wait a bit more or a new Star Fox game or Kid Icarus game because I don't think they gonna release only Mario old game from previous console as a remastered on the Switch for those next years who gonna coming. Plus, from IGN, I hear that Metroid Prime 4 is still a Nintendo Switch 1 exclusivity game so it don't gonna be on the Switch 2, with the fact that I hear that Nintendo stop the rumour about the Switch 2 by claim they never have planned a new Switch console in the next years while somes others people still claim with leak it still planned for the end of 2024 but with leak stuff we can't never trust it at 100% since most of the time it fake and it's very rare when it's true so I will think a new Nintendo console really exist the day when Nintendo gonna show it to us from their own hands and not from leakers mouth.
Also I have hear that the creator of Metroid Prime 4 would like create something about Sylux past about his hate for the Federations Force so, maybe, it gonna be focus on the relationship between Samus and Sylux and maybe Sylux as the main antagonist or maybe both of them gonna team up so we could play in co-op online mode the main story with one player as Samus while the second is Sylux. I hope to see a battle mode online be back again like in the Metroid Prime Hunters mutliplayers mode with the return of the Hunters from Prime Hunters as bonus characters for the online battle in Metroid Prime 4 since they deserve somes attention too just like Sylux since new Metroid fans didn't play all Metroid games and I'm still new into the Metroid universe so I have just played with Metroid Dread as my first Metroid game and then Metroid Prime Remastered and get enough time to buy Metroid Prime Hunters on the Wii U Eshop before the Eshop shutting down. Also, now I talk about Metroid Prime Hunters, I end up on a news about the creator of Metroid Prime Hunters who wanted a remake of Metroid Prime Hunters on the Switch with modern command.

The Metroid Sylux stole turning into a new Metroid Prime is not likely. Phazon is gone and calling every new powerful variant of Metroid a Metroid Prime is kinda dumb sounding. Metroid Prime now just refers to first-person Metroid more or less.
I have to disagree with that, Phazon isn't gone, in Super you see Mother Brain using the Hyper Beam clearly confirming Phazon existed post Prime Trilogy. Plus, you have to consider there were plenty of Metroid eggs and the experiments within Prime 3. You can't easily discard Phazon. In dread we see that Samus becomes part Metroid, her Metroid part fully activates. I'm calling it they'll do the exact same thing for Sylux but instead it'll be Metroid Prime DNA. On top of that, how are you going to explain the BLUE LIQUID in MP4 Retro Studios promotional poster.
Yup, at this point it's just the name of the franchise. Prime Hunters does not have phaazon in it, nor metroid prime, and it still got "Prime" in the title. I dont undertand where people are coming from with the "oh, it needs to have metroid prime to be called metroid prime!!!!!", like, no, it doesn't?

I'm not really expecting any of Tanabe's former comments to have any significance to MP4's story.
If you ask me about that before Federation Force's failure... Yes! Definitely!
But ask me now, after that AND Retro had to step in and reboot MP4.... Not a chance!
Just want to point out that Retro has been HIRING NEW NARRATIVE DIRECTORS, so the story will be drastically different to how Tanabe had envisioned it. That being said in his recent interview on the game he said that he wanted the environmental atmosphere to be like DREAD and METROID PRIME 1..

The online multiplayer in Metroid Prime 2 echos was nothing but PVP and I hated it no online story help on story mode. Ik they don’t want to do that but it’s an option for online help for Prime 4 you the player can choose for the online help from the start or choose to use this online help option just if you got stuck if someone else got stuck and someone else has beaten it to help that stuck person at that point

I didn't think Echoes was difficult but it is a depressing slog to get through. Many cool ideas in there but a lot of boring mundane as well.

As an 80s kid that grew up on the first game and played all the original Gameboy titles let me make something absolutely clear. Samus has green hair. I willnot accept their westernized pandering attempt at a blone haired woman addition after the creator died.
The only problem i had with metroid prime 2 is that i was always lost there was so much you had to memorize in order to back trackin it maybe like a light guidince system to prevent that 🤔 other than that gorgeous game they did really well on it and the music was orgasmic as well
Metroid prime 2 was alot of fun because....OF THE CHALLENGING BOSSES! If a game is a kiddie cake walk thats no fun and i shall have no intrest. Very distrubing news concerning tanabe and his confirmation of reduced difficulty and how he thought mp2 was too hard.
Why does every franchise have to be dumbed down and made easy for a modern audience?
Btw, this was him back in 2015, his views have very likely changed and more than likely Retro would've given a "fuck you" card to Tanabe on hard boss fights anyway since it's THEIR presentation on MP4 that caused the reset. You also have to keep on mind they've also been hiring plenty veteran directors and developers on improving the gameplay so I HEAVILY doubt they're going to make the bosses easy due the bosses needing to be harder for them to compensate on Samus' new abilities.
Wait what kind of nonsense was that? You're saying the Zelda series was not "That much of a better seller" than METROID!? Are you kidding me? Zelda is one of Nintendo big three flagship franchises along with Mario and Pokemon.
It's obviously not as strong as those two but it's a heavy hitting game guaranteed to sell millions of copies over each console's lifetime! Prior to Dread, Zelda stood at 91 million copies sold while metroid was at 17,44, it was five times stronger than metroid which is a LOT.
Your comment would have made sense if you were talking about fire emblem. Literally 60% of all of that franchise's sales come from the last 10 years. For 25 years fire emblem was a niche sitting duck that no one in the universe, not even its developers, knew about. Now Nintendo is acting like a priest surrounded by infant boys and trying to cram it down everyone's throats.

I think what he was trying to say is that Zelda is not as INFLUENCIAL as Metroid, well let's think about Metroid was a franchise that was designed to provide new ideas to the gaming industry specifically to Mario AND Zelda. It's because of METROID why we have a genre and why a lot of games are like the way are today.
