For anyone curious into the origin of the phrase "Come With Me To The Casbah", I have done much research. Here is the story:
Tangiers is a city in Morocco, and The Casbah is a neighborhood in that city. There is a classic silver-screen film called Tangiers, and in it the criminal-hero says to his love, "Come with me to the casbah", were he intended to hide out from the police. This has been quoted now many times, everybody from Animated skunks to the Clash, to Abney Park have now referenced it.
In our story, "The Casbah" is a neighborhood in a post-apocalyptic city. I supposed it's technically "New Casbah", but the denizens of this city aren't big on history. (read the Airship Pirate Chronicles for more about that, on sale here: www.abneypark.com/market).
I am currently reading the Airship Chronicles. It says that it is part one, so are there going to be more books?
I'll be totally honest, I started reading Wrath of Fate, and I got through the first couple chapters before putting it away. It's way too fast, there's zero true character outside of the Letter Between a Little Boy scene, and it just felt way too hollow.
Rob, your universe is awesome, your songs are fantastic, and I'm going to continue buying your music and your merchandise. But... you should really slow down when you write these books and just let the story breathe a bit. :P

I was at the concert in Strasburg, PA last night 10/15/16. You guys were amazing. I was the one that told you the story about how I found you guys in high school from the song Dear Ophelia. I was the guy that shook your hand then hugged you. I had a brown steampunk hat and I was with my older brother. I freakin love Abney Park.

I'd appreciate if you updated a version without the outro "kidding around" because it ruins any playlist that contains it. It is funny one time, but not every time.

I didn't immediately realize it, but HEY! That's a Change-Cage City! There's the Change Cage to the left, and there are the steam trains mentioned in the song, and those are the neighborhoods meant to protect us from...the differences between us.
well, watching the green room footage it is possible I was taking the song a bit too seriously while working on some choreo for it :) Adorable. Also a Casbah can mean a fortress or stronghold but a home with fortifications.

Another amazing location would be the Stiefel Theatre in Salina, KS. It is a historic theitere from the 1930s, and georgous on the outside and inside!

The sneaking suspicion that some people just have way too much fun - confirmed! Great video, guys - and ladies. Catchy tune and looks like you had fun making the video. I was definitely looking for doumbeks and belly dancers with a title like "The Casbah" (or at least The Clash in there somewhere) but I nonetheless enjoyed the way you did the video. Keep em coming.

I adore the song, but I wish you'd had a few couples in the audience dancing the tango - this song absolutely SCREAMS tango - and maybe Pasa Doble.. Still - it's a fabulous song - "the world around us is in flames and I don't even know your name!!! Bravo, Cap'n!!!
It is Tango, and there are two girls dancing it beautifully if you watch closely
for a second there i read that as "Wabash", as in "Wabash cannonball", way to build my self to a unreasonable expectation there there, (jams forks in own eyes to teach them a lesson). My ear still work though and this is still a very well done song if not what i expected when i clicked the linked.

Funny, that I had such imagination of party in post-apocalypse times, before i defined myself as steampunk. :)

Can anyone tell me what this song is borrowing it's melody from? That tango-tastic dah-dun, dah-dun, dah-dun-dun-dun, I've heard it before, it's been used and parodied a bunch and I would just love to find out what it's called.
