*For those who've been telling me shows I forgot, read this pinned post before commenting!*
I woke up this morning only to find out my video blew up and gained subscribers! I didn't see this coming, so thank you all! I know I missed a few shows, my apologies I was rushing this video, and wanted to get it out for NYD. To make it up, I made a playlist of parodies. If I missed any, let me know. ua-cam.com/play/PLHD00ntE6CnvEkjxSEr7f4zAsG8CsAU7k.html
*Shameless promo:* As an artist and filmmaker, I have a Ko-fi with memberships. If you can, I would love some support, and if you choose my membership, I'll credit you at the end of my future long-form videos! (mostly movie-related video essays I'm currently working on) ko-fi.com/areesh
Thank you for inspiration!!!
@@MyBearo You're very welcome!
The fact that the Itchy and Scratchy one isn’t too far off to how Mickey acted in the 1920s cartoons, is very concerning
He breaks pretty much ALL of the rules of seafaring
That's what I like about Lady Play Your Mandolin, if it came out today people would think it was one of those Evil Mickey Mouse parodies like in South Park or Drawn Together.
yeah Mickey would've found a way to make music with the body
"the fact" 😢
😂 dang man, go outside
Pays great homage to the mouse’s antics
So only Matt Groaning had the balls to parody it before it entered the public domain.
you don't need pUbLiC dOmAiN to parody something 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
@@legbender1584 tell that to Disneys lawyers.
Fair use
@@leephillips4402if you change it enough you won’t get in trouble
@@leephillips4402 The same lawyers that did absolutely nothing when South Park's parodied Mickey Mouse extensively?
Imagine if the next Simpsons episode released has a Steamboat Willie couch gag, and this happens:
Homer: "This is great! Now that this is public domain, we can use it for whatever we want!"
Lisa: "Dad, Disney bought us years ago-we could already use it!"
Homer: "D'oh!"
That's on my bingo card for this year!

Nice!
XD
I love when when Disney parodies their older cartoons.
Nowadays, that’s all they ever do!
@@deshrektives No it’s not.
Firstly, the remakes are not parodies.
Second, it’s not all they ever do.
Oh, they’re parodies. They’re just not intentional parodies.
@Mac14329 just look how bad the new stuff they pump out is
You know what, thanks to Disney's purchase of 20th Century from Fox, they own all the franchises that did a Steamboat Willie parody in this video.
Another personal favorite was seen in a South Park episode. The kids were waiting to see "The New Terrance & Phillip Movie Trailer" (also the ep title), and had to sit through a Russell Crowe TV show. At one point, he steers his tugboat whistling as he goes to the next place to start fighting.
Making movies making songs and fighting round the world.
@@leephillips4402Russell Crowe.
"Born in New Zealand in '64
A hot-headed actor named Russell Crowe.
He loves to act but he loves one thing more:
Fightin' round the world"
Love how smooth and bouncy the Simpsons one is. (With Maggie)
because animator from Disney made this lmao
1. The Steamboat Itchy one is my favorite! 🤣
2. I didn’t know there was a reference in Futurama as well.
But Futurama had a bit of Georges Meiles too lol
The one thing parodies get consistently wrong is making the animation too fluid and fast.
Animation had to be done by hand and was a new artform, so the animators looped as much as they could and kept things slow.
It wasn't until around the golden age of Tom & Jerry where animators got comfortable with complex movements and timing.
I noticed that cartoons in the 20s-30s have no slow in and slow out, no smear also
Bruh its just a MF PARODY and reference not a recreation... 💀
Steamboat Itchy has less animal abuse than the actual Steamboat Willie
That’s why the parody was so effective.
wdym animal abuse there are no humans in steamboat willie all i see are animals
Thank God it’s finally public domain so we can let all these poor animators back out of jail.
Steamboat-Itchy genuinely has significantly less violence and less animal abuse in it.
I’m pretty sure Disney once had some sort of movie production intro with steamboat Willie
its the Walt Disney Animation Studios logo
Yeah I remember seeing it in a few movies
They did that on purpose specifically to protect the copyright on *Steamboat Willie* as long as possible.
How about when Donald was imagining himself as the new face of Disney when he's about to win a game in "The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse"?
Just added it to the parody playlist, link in pinned.
There's also one in Duckman.
Read pinned post
0:57 I LITERALLY SAE THIS EPISODE IN MY TV TODAY BEFORE WATCHING THIS VIDEO LOL
1:24 Disney invented boats
Before they invented stars, Ducks, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Tarzan, Star Wars and Marvel.
People in 1927: Hello I am under the water
Listen, the reason why parodies of the original are now coming out is because Disney’s patent on Mikey Mouse Expired, so now Mikey is free to use for all.
Uuuuuum, buddy, the last one is a sail boat, i dont think it would be a reference if it wasnt a steam boat, great video btw
OH MY LORD I CANT BELIEVE THAT STEAMBOAT WILLIE REFERENCED STEAMBOAT WILLIE IM SHAKING
Lmao, I added the official short in the beginning for reference, since there could be people who are just discovering Steamboat Willie. Yes, Mickey is in the public domain, but the original version only.
0:33 Don't worry, it's ink, folks!
You forgot the reference in South Park where Russel Crowe was in the boat
Sorry, I was in a rush making that video the other day, since I wanted to get it uploaded on NYD.
Just added it to a parody playlist, link in pinned.
Disney has owned the rights to The Simpsons and Futurama since 2019.
Oh hey! Never expected you to comment on my videos.
The last Simpsons one had no relation to Steamboat Willie
@ChrisBarrett1 It was referencing "rubber hose" animation from the 1920's and the early 1930's in general.
@@bobbybickert That and the boat in the artwork moving like the one in Steamboat Willie. Keep in mind, I got all this information from the short's IMDB connection page.
@@directorAREESH I just watched your video again and noticed that the music playing during that clip from The Simpsons is either "Minnie's Yoo Hoo" or a close imitation.
The simpsons predicted parodies 😂
When I saw the thumbnail I was only thinking about the itchy and scratchy parody of it but it was cool to see these others. It's been a long time since I seen the futurama parody and I forgot about the Simpsons couch gag one until now. I didn't realize there was another one where Goofy bumped into Mickey's boat and he got mad. That's really funny
0:45 the part willi goofy and willi Mickey mouse
0:50 now this is something that’ll be canon.
Don't forget Aladdin King of Thieves where Robin Williams Genie TFs into him!
Thanks! Added it to a parody playlist, link in pinned.
@@directorAREESHyeah i remember that too
Friendly reminder for anyone who doesn't know or realize this: Steamboat Willie is in the public domain, however it's parodies are not.
True, this video is rather a tribute to it during it's copyright run.
I love how most of these clips are from the Simpsons and Futurama.
Coincidentally it's before Disney bought Fox 😂😂😂😂
Kinda unrelated but in Pop Team Epic there was going to be a parody of Steamboat Willie but they scrapped it for no reason
They didn't want to face Disney's lawyers with copyright, back when it was still owned by them at least.
This is just giving me a flashback of nostalgia
1:20 legend says the skeleton is still talking gibberish
1:26 DRAMATIC STEAMBOAT PAINTING!
funny thing is, i'm fairly sure that disney tossed steamboat willie into the intro of lots of their movies to rub in our faces that they can use the character but we can't, and now everyone is spamming it to taunt right back at disney lol
Did people just forget that parodies fall under fair use? Did they really had to wait until the oldest Mickey fell into public domain to make those lame horror parodies and shit?
Well, seeing how they can actually use Mickey's likeness now, I guess they wanted to wait rather than make their own original parody characters (like Bendy and the Ink Machine).
Or maybe some of them are just for shock value.
@@mr.machine3328 they can't use "Mickey" name tho... 💀
0:31 NOT ITCHY PULLING OUT THE GUN 💀💀💀
Bro Mickey got revenge 0:30 💀💀
You also forgot the Fairly oddparents episode "the good old days" (even though it was mainly an homage to rubber hose cartoons in general, it had a background reminiscent of the one from Steamboat Willie) and a brief scene in the Uncle Grandpa episode "the fan"
The same Aladdin was needed but the genie does it
0:46 I bet the company who made this was really excited when they could use the actual thing instead of having to parody it this year.
You haved all my attention
0:30 how everyone’s going to use steamboat willie
You Forgot the Duckman parody found in Ep 1.
Sorry, I was in a rush making that video the other day, since I wanted to get it uploaded on NYD.
Just added it to a parody playlist, link in pinned.
Never knew it was parodied
Ahh i love hem mickey mouse classic vintage 1920 so extra old
Steam Bruh Willie O_O
The Mouse will sing "2 Minute Notice" from Helluva Boss.
I just saw Steamboat Willie in its entirety for the first time ever, because memes, and boy whoever did that Itchy And Scratchy parody on it, they surely knew what they were doing. 😂
*drives steamboat and blows whistles then puts something black in the firebox* carry those cargo in once so let's move
He has lumpy scream.
I don't think that last one counts. It just looks like a send up to rubber hose toons in general.
That looks like Mickey Mouse because it is Mickey Mouse, but with a different name
What if Disney, knowing the copyright to Steamboat Willie was expiring, bought Fox just to own Steamboat Itchy and the opening of Beast with a Billion Backs?
That Itchy and Scratchy makes me feel at ease about the Mickey video I created, and I though mine was harsh LOL!.
Call the second an evil version
The wheel on the back of the planet express is rotating the wrong way
"Actually You can't use the name Mickey Mouse because that is a Trade Market name and not a Copyright name which means it will never go into the Public Domain" 🤓
And to that I say that I am fine with that and can wait to see what cool names people will come up to use when using Him
My idea is something like "Captain Steam" or "Steam Rat"
@alface935 MAD (when it was still a color comic book, not a magazine) used "Mickey Rodent" (and also "Darnold Duck").
@@bobbybickert lol
@Taya-888 Great Idea!
Ah the world of parodies
They do predicts Mickey Mouse public domain, and genres public domain after all.
There was also Genie near the end of Aladdin and the King of Thieves after he comes out of the giant turtle.
One of the rare instances of good animation in modern simpsons 1:25
Lol
SO CUTE!!!
All content belongs to their respective owners
Mickey Mouse and Steamboat Willie (which is in the Public Domain) are owned by Disney Enterprises, Inc.
The Simpsons and all related characters and elements are trademarks of and copyrighted by 20th Television
Uncle Grandpa.
I know what you mean. I wish I could've added it, but I was in a rush making this video, and never thought of UG.
Just added it to a parody playlist, link in pinned.
There was one in Pop Team Epic, but got "nice boated" due to not being public domain yet.
I hope reruns of the s1 can show the gag properly.
Bro Maggie sucked the wrong pacifier💀💀
I wonder what Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon will do with Steamboat Willie now that it's already public domain. I seen it appear on Adult Swim as a bumper!
What no duck man
That last one wasn’t anything
@samuelmacam4218 It was referencing "rubber hose" animation from the 1920's and the early 1930's in general.
@bobbybickert Yeah but that doesn't make it a Steamboat Willie Parody. I mean it's a good reference and the animators did a good job with it, but clearly it's not meant to represent Steamboat Willie, which is what the video is about.
Imagine if david winn voiced scratchy 0:30
How is 1:23 related to Steamboat Willie?
No surprised the Simpsons parodied steam bait willie
There’s also one in one episode of Duckman
Read pinned post
Mr duck man did this parody too in the first episode
The 2nd one💀💀💀
you might still getn in toruble by using the whistle since disney uses it on their logo on movies so be careful
The final one isn’t Steamboat Willie related except to the extent that it’s in black and white.
You really had to stretch with that last one. It wasn't even the same type of boat.
It was also rubberhose animation like Steamboat Willie
Mickey Mouse in boat
I saw zoidberg so I liked
Wait, so you're telling me Steamboat Itchy isn't the original? Chester J. Lampwick is rolling in his grave.
Simpsons has been around so long They're parodying things twice
yeah
You forgot the Mario one!!
What a violence video
You forgot Aladdin and the King of Thieves...
Could be because most didn’t see it
Why so many reboots? When I heard that it was going into public domain I didnt know so many ppl would acc care
Am I the only person who feels bad about scratchy? Like what did he do Leak Itchy's Address?
Mickey mouse!
ua-cam.com/video/74OrkHwzCww/v-deo.htmlsi=2Z04kGMjpPEAYunK&t=927
There's another one with Duckman
*Cuphead be like:*
I don't think the Simpsons one should count simply because it's not parading Steamboat Willie but rather just the animation styles of the 1950s
I love that sound but what is this
0:38 на TV лучше бы не показывали
É os Simpsons, só tem violência
HEY I MADE THAT YOU DONT HAVE THE ABILITY TO JUST STEAL IT
shame you couldn't use the pop team epic one since the whole joke is it being censored
_sigh_ Please read pinned
Disney lost the copylight
Futurama, more like PASTrama
Mmmm
0:25 and 1:28 is the same
