And I mean, when it becomes public domain, i'm not sure if only the books, not the tv series, will be available, and only for the characters of the first book

Creating a "Steamboat Willie" version with Thomas and Friends characters would be a creative and fun concept. Here's a playful adaptation of the classic Steamboat Willie scene with Thomas the Tank Engine and friends: Title: "Steam Train Thomas" [The scene opens with Thomas, the blue steam engine, puffing along a railway track. The familiar whistle sound of Thomas echoes in the air.] [Thomas spots Percy, his green friend, waiting at a station. Thomas pulls up alongside Percy.] Thomas: (whistling) "Hello, Percy! Ready for another adventure?" Percy: (whistling) "Absolutely, Thomas! Let's make it a great one!" [The two engines set off together, chugging down the track. The scenery is filled with colorful landscapes, resembling the whimsical world of Thomas and Friends.] [Suddenly, a mischievous Troublesome Truck appears on the track, causing trouble as usual. Thomas and Percy exchange playful glances.] Thomas: (whistling) "Looks like we've got some trouble, Percy. Time to show these trucks who's boss!" [Thomas and Percy work together to navigate the troublesome trucks, creating a symphony of steam and whistles. The mischievous trucks try to play pranks, but Thomas and Percy outsmart them at every turn.] [The scene shifts to a river, where a steamboat resembling the iconic Steamboat Willie appears, but with a Thomas and Friends twist. The steamboat's captain is a friendly crane named Cranky, and the passengers on board are miniature versions of the Fat Controller and other beloved characters.] [As Thomas and Percy approach the river, they exchange waves with the steamboat. The steamboat's whistle joins in, creating a cheerful melody that echoes through the scene.] [The animation continues with Thomas, Percy, and the steamboat engaging in a synchronized dance, showcasing the charm and camaraderie of the Thomas and Friends world.] [The scene ends with Thomas, Percy, and the steamboat sailing into the sunset, leaving behind a trail of laughter and joy.] Fade out to the signature Thomas and Friends theme music as the screen goes black. This imaginary adaptation combines the nostalgia of Steamboat Willie with the beloved characters from Thomas and Friends, creating a delightful and whimsical experience for fans of both.
Would it be a good thing or a bad thing when Thomas enters the public domain in the year 2040? On the one hand, Thomas would be free from the evil Mattel's clutches. On the other hand, Thomas would have his own horror film the way Winnie the Pooh and Steamboat Mickey did, and who knows what else?
It’ll be a good thing! I doubt Thomas would be given a horror film straight off the bat tho, as they’d only have to work with the original Payne illustrations tho, as the Dalby ones would have copyright at least until 2047. I personally cannot wait till Thomas is in the public domain as it finally allows authors with books of similar concept to confirm sodor’s existence in such series’ without Mattel commencing the copyright hammer
There’s a problem here. Mickey Mouse is AMERICAN. You used the BRITISH Thomas narration. That should be amended. A version of this with the U.S./CAN narration should need to exist. And yes as far as I know Canadian audiences probably got the U.S. narration for Thomas broadcasts. If I’m wrong, let me know. But as far as I know, viewers north of the border more than likely got what we had in The States. (Canada MAY have gotten Both versions, I don’t know.)

I know Thomas isn't technically Public Domain, but it's such a classic, you can almost imagine it going with the 20s.
thomas won't be public domain for another 17 years i think
@@CrashFan03 Wait, is Thomas really to that old? I was thinking 60s or something, not 40s.

And also Mattel has original unaired clips from unaired episodes like the missing coach, etc and the original pilot
It’ll be good everyone will be able to revive Thomas and finish adapting the books
The only Thomas content that will go Public Domain is "The Three Railway Engines" published since 1945 which will happen in 2040
Honestly, it would be beyond bad if Thomas the Tank Engine were to go public domain.
This fits perfectly!

Disney buying the franchise

@u-shanks4915 At least they'd be doing things better than Mattel, who since late 2017, has been trying to send Thomas to the scrapyard.
Yeah but Warner Bros would be an bad option too
