Yes you are right. If you needed to work inside the box you have to pretty much dismantle it he guitar. It’s one reason I prefer not to use glue on certain parts. However it depends on the type of construction being used per guitar. I like the look of the underside of the box as well as the top. Check out Nigel Mctrustry for some stunning examples.
Hi Adam, from the video you appear to be intending to have the lid at the back. Most builders tend to display the more attractive lid on the front but screw it closed. I've often wondered whether doing it that way meant they had to remove the strings and partially dismantle the box, to change a pot, input jack etc. I guess it's like comparing access between a Strat and a Les Paul. 🤓
