    Years ago I embarrassed a couple of lifted full sized 4x4 trucks stuck at the entrance of SPI 5 mile access. You could see their rage build up as I very slowly crawled past them in my base model Nissan Sentra (2fwd CVT 4 banger), packed to the brim with 5 adults on board. All of whom probably thought we would get stuck too. Needless to say I won that day.

    S.U.V'S are more capable 4x4 vehicles in most scenarios reason being is weight distribution ... an empty bed with no weight on the axle isn't putting much power or traction on the ground. I've got 2 suburbans these things are tanks although I will admit without extra clearance of lift or larger tires these heavy trucks will bottom out and thats absolutely one of the worst ways to get stuck so anything you can do for extra clearance really helps out

    one thing to keep in mind, is that sea water is salty and have salt in it and can corrode your vehicle chassis/frame. So try to avoid driving on sea water unless you have to. If have to then wash it off as soon as possible after leaving the beach.

    The sand was the correct choice since you were prepared for it. Also you have 4x4.
    The thing that makes me shy away from the water is that the sensors on the engine can get wet n cause problems. That GX did great.
    One piece of advice; slow down when passing parked vehicles on the beach. I know that for the most part there were no folks out there.
    But once coming into gate 6 or once I start seeing the people n cars parked on the beach I slow to 10-to 15mph because kids have a tendency to rush out from one of those cars on their way to the water n that's when accidents happen. Just subscribed.
    Like what you're doing.
    Oh fyi speed limit is 15mph at the beach. According to SPI park rangers. Thanks for sharing n God Bless

    You did great on sand. There was nothing wrong with the ford 4x4. But let you know when a truck says 4x4 most of the time it's not a true 4x4. They usually refer to rear axle being locked or ls. To be a true 4x4 they need a front locker. Could be the same for your GX. Also a suspension lift doesn't help your differentials clearance it will stay in same place. In order to have diff clearance you need bigger tires. Body lift help to clear the body from dragging like on a blazer or sport trac. Which are lower to ground.

    • @CoastalGX
      @CoastalGX  4 роки тому +1

      xbox PutUonUrBack correct! My vehicle is awd with a locking diff (not front or rear locks.) My GX has the Toyota A-trac system though and it’s quite remarkable. I’m saving up for a 3” suspension lift, 33” all terrain K02’s, diff relocation breathers and a snorkel. Still, the greatest solution is using our head lol. Thanks for watching and commenting.

If you want tips on overlanding. Seek adventure and ronny daul are a big help. Like solar powering your equipment running 24/7 small fridge. However if you stick to ice chest you need 2. Deicate one ice chest to the cook and he's the only one allowed to open food ice chest other is just drinks and snacks. Also you can bury the ice chest half or a quarter deep into the sand if you do already that's great. Love the videos keep it up. 👍👍👍👍👍🤘 really quick do you like the bathroom set up you have or would you try for something bigger. xbox PutUonUrBack yes, Ronny Dahl is one of my favorites as well as St Pierre from South Africa. Much of my fear is from Australia and South Africa. They love Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150’s. It’s the cousin of the GX460.

    • @jjadventures7656
      @jjadventures7656 3 роки тому +1

      @@blackbeardpirates4655 his vehicle is a 4x4. When he locks the center diff the transfer case supplies 50/50 power to front and rear drive shafts just how it does on part time 4x4. Now the diffs will send power accordingly to the wheels depending on how much resistance the wheels have. Power goes to wheel with least resistance so depending on that it can be 60/40 70/30 or even 100/0 if one tire has no traction. the transfer case will always be 50/50 front and back when locked. Atrac acts like a locker to all 4 wheels applying break to the wheel that’s slipping so the power goes to the wheel with traction to get the vehicle moving.
