  • San Gimignano in the Region of Siena (Tuscany), this Street Performer plays The Nutcracker using just water filled glasses.
Water glasses, especially pure crystal glasses, have a natural frequency at which they will vibrate. When you rub the rim of the glass, the finger causes additional vibrations.
The glasses filled with water are rubbed by the player's fingers to create the notes. It is played by running moistened or chalked fingers around the rim of the glasses.
