hello, my daughter gave me an azalea bonsai same as the one on this video. I think it can of suffered during the delivery process because 70% of its leaves got brown and felt off. Also, my daughter purchased a dwarf jade and they sent us an azalea instead which is wrong because we live in Florida but I decided to keep it. Now my tree looks bare and still not sure how much water it needs. I have it under a growing lamp. help please? what do I so so it won't loose any more leaves or die?
Hi there. It's hard to know what the problem is since it happened during transit. But, I would think you're best bet is to get the soil moist, not soaking wet, just moist. If you keep it under a lamp, maybe put it off to the side a little and not directly under it. If the tree is under stress, direct light and heat could in some cases, stress it out more. Recovery can be a slow process.
I did this for a friend / coworker that recently left the company. I do know that the tree did well for a long time up to that point, but I think when management boxed up her stuff and sent it to her, they just threw it in the box and mailed it along with everything else. So imagine it didn't survive a loose box ride along with picture frames, staplers, etc.
I just got my first Azalea Bonsai, I'm so nervous about re-potting. This has been very helpful, thank you!
What a smart idea to report the plant from inside a metal tin pan. I’m going to start doing this when i repot my houseplants.
It's a very good video for me as a Bonsai beginner. I will repot it mine soon. Thanks.
Cuticle-cutters are awesome!
Thanks for this buddy. Super helpful.
Beginner here. Thanks for your video! Can I ask - Why do they need the wiring?
I rarely do it to be honest but the idea is that it holds it in the pot in case it get bumped or windy or something.
@@BonsaiBoise Thank you!
Nice job! I like the music.

Thank you, should I cut some of the branches that have no leaves or just wait until the leaves grow back?
@@ceciliaescobar7901 I would just wait and not make any cuts yet.
@@BonsaiBoise ok sounds good thanks
why didnt you leave any root soil?
How is this tree doing now?

missed a few big branches in the middle. kind of muttled looking. azlaea are always nice tho. so many types too.
It wasn't mine so I didn't get too aggressive with it.
i would do away with the music and talk through out video.
