I bought one of these mid 2016. Thing has been through hell, but still works today. I work in a bmw shop and the majority of the techs use it, all the porters use it, sales and detail use it. Gets used six days a week. A good $180 investment. Real strong jumper pack. Highly recommended product. I'm waiting for it to die, once it does I'm buying another one.
We are going on over 2 years of ownership and this box is still going strong. Makes me think to make a new video about it. Showing my honest review about it. Thanks for watching and commenting sir.
I bought one in 2014 after flogging another at a used car lot every day. It's wonderful BECAUSE IT'S SIMPLE and doesn't have delicate "features" to break. A jump pack should start trucks, this does, and works fine on Harleys ( a harder load than many cars). I use mine as backup phone and notebook power during grid outages, to test starters off-vehicle, and instead of my riding mower battery. I'm an experienced mechanic (from aircraft on down) and my JNC 660 works as well in 2021 as it did in 2014. My local auto store uses theirs on customer vehicles and they can have any pack they want.
Had this JNC for 4 years doing AAA and jumping up to 20cars a day and this thing still performed like a champ until it was stolen. Even jumped some Super Duty’s
98 Chevy van sitting around for months. Bought a $49 jump starter at Walmart. It didn't work. Nephew drops by with this box on the coldest day of the year with wind chill in the teens, it kicks right up. Case closed.
I have this and it is great. Sometimes AAA and tow companies use these and that is how you know its the best. I heard it will jump 3 large trucks at least before needing another charge. I used the 660 this week and let the car run for 30 mins to fully charge the battery.
It is better to attach the negative lead to a part of the frame or engine for a more efficient jump. On most Chevys, the positive connection is best made from that little red box that the large lead goes to from the battery.
Had not driven my Jaguar for almost 3 years. It was completely dead. (It was stored in climate control garage beneath my building) Used the JNC 660, and made sure to put it in the trunk of my car while driving to build up the battery. The car kept killing every time I came to a red light, jumped out of the car (no pun intended) 😂 and jumped the battery again - this happened about 5 times. Finally - the battery charged up and all is good. Point is - I looooove that JNC660. I’ve used it countless times from letting my cars sit too long. It has saved me sooooo much money from having to pay to have my cars jumped.
I’m on my 2nd unit. First one lasted me 10 years using it at least 3-5 times a day. I’m going to send it to be rebuilt one of these days. I only charge it once a month. It stays in my tow truck. And has never let me down. I damaged the old one by jump starting a mower by hard spinning it from the starter motor. Not the jnc660 fault.
Curious if the bottom of your unit ever got wet. I left mine in the box in my trunk for a week and somehow the bottom got soggy. Wondering if it's still safe to use the jumper as it seems to only have gotten damp. Thanks
I got mine in a flea market for 30 dollars almost brand new .I thought was something wrong with it but I dint care about that price was crazy cheap... 3 years later still working great I have jump around 20 cars and I have charged it around 4 times in 3 years .. but always always no matter if you don't use it for a year battery always still full and ready for rocknroll
Got nine for 30 dollars on a fleamarket 7 years ago ... I'm not gonna lie thus thing is amazing.. I have charged it only 5 times in 7 years I don't used much but always has charged when I need it even if I don't use it for a year .. great product I recommend this to anyone
I have a BMW 540i with a 60 amp drain on it. If I drive every 4 to 5 days no problem. But a week or longer it’s deader than disco. My 660 has jump started this 4.4 liter V8 after sitting for a month on the first try!!!
I purchased it. You left out one thing. “THE WEIGHT OF THIS MODEL” definitely a little heavy to carry around. Not light weight at all. Only about 20lbs. I know it doesn’t seem like a lot but once you pick it up, you’re like “OH WOOOOW” had no idea it was that heavy lol
Is it best to bring this jumper pack in the house during below freezing temperatures? Does storing it in the cold/trunk affect the performance? its been -30 degrees F lately.
I once drove a dead battery with this attached, it will work as battery if you leave it connected. Got me to auto zone. As soon as I unplugged the battery died.
Yes. Absolutely. I've jumped cars for many years and once the motor is running the battery has done its job. Pull the jumpers off and let the alternator charge the battery. (Assuming that the alternator is working.)
I hope this will answer your question because none of the others did. AN OLD DEAD BATTERY.... will have to be replaced because it can no longer hold any charge, so once you jump start your car, every time you shut it off you will need to jump it again and again. A DRAINED BATTERY.... is not necessarily a dead battery, in most cases it can be recharged just by driving around form your car's alternator, or if drained too low (like leaving your lights on or door open overnight) it may need to be put on a slow charger at a shop, or if you have a good plug-in one at home. Fast charges could burn up your battery cells.
I work at carmax this is the only jump box they use. shit when they clip breaka they buy a new one i just take the spring from a dead on and fix the handle. freebie thank u
I've done that before a handful of times and it works. But, I work for BMW, so I would put one on the battery in the trunk, and hook up the other pack on the terminals under the hood. At the same time on a battery itself with two jump packs I wouldn't attempt. Plus would be hard to fit two jump packs on one battery
2:50 Assuming the pack was more than 50% from Amazon, that 50% reading is due to it equalizing with your "dead" battery. The dead one could have been less than 50%.
HELP. I just bought one of these. My question is about the round charging meter . When I press the check status button what should it read at "fully charged". Right now I have it in the charger and it reads " 13 " in the green but the "Fully Charged Green Light" is on......but there is plenty more green area to go. So my question is.....on the round meter what number in the green area is "fully charged"........13,,,,,,14,,,,,15,,,,,, ????
Excellent question. If it says fully charged. Unplug it. 12V is the full charge of the battery. Anything below that and it’s bad. Needs to be recharged.
@@HidalgoMotorsCo ....so you are saying those numbers in the green zone "past 12" are to be ignored? and my Jump In Carry is normal having a full charge at 12ish. The directions don't even cover this.
Most cars with a battery in the trunk or any place not easily accessible, usually have a special connector under the hood meant for jump starting. It usually has a red plastic cover with a + sign on it. I think they're also usually very near the fuse box. Then you just connect the negative lead to the chassis somewhere.
That's a great question, I've personally never used it for anything other than jumping dead cars and trucks, once we find out we will let you know !! Also, thanks so much for watching! Much appreciated
it needs gas as well dont let it run this low its not good for the fuel pump I worked at chevy for a little while back in the 90s and I had a 90 s10 blazer

Don’t settle for any other jump box. Had mine for 10 years and it’s the best investment. Honestly never leave home without it.

Amazing! Thanks for sharing! And most importantly, thanks for watching!
It's the best pack I have owned! Nice long, thick, supple 2AWG welding cable as leads. Never had luck with those compact lithium ones.

I gave 2 of these, and they work great! FYI- The negative cable goes to a ground on the engine, NOT on the battery.
Yes you are correct! Thanks so much for watching and for your feedback! Means a lot!
Sometimes you need to connect black to the battery, that is the only way my dead battery would start. I tried on the frame, but no luck.

If your battery is flat dead like 11v you need to leave it connected for a minute or two for it to fully start the vehicle
Richard Negrin thanks for watching my friend!
A flat dead it’s 0 cero volts not 11 volts , 11 volts it’s pretty much 90 percent of charge only needs just a lil boos if at 11 volts , just saying
How do you turn it on after booking it up should I wait for a signal to start the car or should I leave it for couple seconds
Is it best to bring this jumper pack in the house during below freezing temperatures? Does storing it in the cold/trunk affect the performance? its been -30 degrees F lately.
Neutral drop uses this jump pack on all their vehicles before they destroy em!! 😝
Wish I got this. The tow truck guy used one similar to this on my car.
Just came in handy! Thanks 💯👍🏼
What does the charger look like? The one that plugs into the male plug in front?
Thank you, I appreciate it

It worked.. However, the negative cable, or grounding, doesn't this cable connects the chassis of the car ???? shoot me up...
1:47 That red box on the engine that says "battery" is an easier place to hook the jumper (+) to instead of the side terminal on the battery.
Excellent idea!
How do you charge it from home
So then once the car has started, do you just take off the jumper cables while it's running, and that is safe?
Yes. Absolutely. I've jumped cars for many years and once the motor is running the battery has done its job. Pull the jumpers off and let the alternator charge the battery. (Assuming that the alternator is working.)

I've done that before a handful of times and it works. But, I work for BMW, so I would put one on the battery in the trunk, and hook up the other pack on the terminals under the hood. Does the button tell you jpw much the JNC is charged or the car battery is charged?
yes, button when pressed shows battery level - when connected - shows connected battery level.
Can I leave it in the car for extended time in a NY weather?
I wouldn’t recommend
My volts on the thing are at 50 when not connected to my car then as soon as i connect it the volts go all the way to zero and the car doesnt start.
This somehow killed the computer in an old jeep I had, definitely have to be careful.

I've got the bluepoint version of that. I know its the same exact thing. Its decent. Lets me down quite a bit though im not gonna lie.
The instructions say not to attach the negative to the battery but to a metal part of the engine, can I ignore this?
Yes. They say that because there's a miniscule chance of a spark or something and they're avoiding liability. It should work either way.
