  • Tautog fishing is hot in Fall in East US. Today, I will show you how to catch green crabs and Asian crabs for tautog fising baits. You can catch green crabs using a dip net and chicken legs. FYI, baitshops in RI sell green crabs. You can't buy Asian crabs from baitshops. You can catch Asian crabs at any rocky shore lines in MA and RI. The primetime for tautog fishing is September through November.

    You do not need a permit for blue crabs in MA or RI however RI you must be a resident to harvest. You need to obtain a letter to harvest green crabs in MA see Mass.gov. Asian crabs nothing needed and RI nothing needed for either.

    Hi Bonaggi! It's so nice to see you crabbing in the shadow of the Keyspan building! I have never met more friendly fishers, than on that same pier at Beverly. This is my first fishing season, I caught some Mackerel and one Bonito. I also got my Green Crab letter, but since I'm new, I didn't go Tog fishing yet. I am also looking forward to the soft-shell seasons for these. And yes I am not surprised if the Togs prefer females, because they are tasty with so many eggs inside! Thanks for a nice channel :)

    Hey Bonaggi! A few things! Fiddler crabs I heard are delicious to use for tautog! I think you can catch them near salt marshes, based on what I know and online research it seems like there are no regulations for Fiddler Crabs. Also for MA, you can keep up to 25 blue crabs without a license, also you can keep up to 25 other crabs like rock crabs. For RI you have to be a RI Resident to keep Blue Crabs, it doesn't say anything else for other crabs! Otherwise great video! I basically do the same things for green crabs! I instead use a different type of trap in which they have to crawl in from the sides, but they can't get out afterward. Catches a lot more in less time!

    • @bonaggi
      @bonaggi  Рік тому

      지난주는 낚시를 못갔어요. 이번주에 낚시 톡낚시 다녀오려고 해요. 낚시 후에 크랩이 남으면 버리기 아까운데요. 보통 미끼샵에서 구매한 크랩은 샵에서 오래 보관된 경우가 많아서 낚시 후에는 비실비실 해서 버리고 오는 편입니다. 그러나 제가 낚시 가기 하루나 이틀 전에 직접 잡은 크랩은 낚시 후에도 아주 생생한데요. 이러한 경우는 바닷불에 한번 행궈서 목욕을 시켜준 후에 다시 집으로 가져 옵니다. 냉장실에 넣어 놓은면 일주일 후에도 잘 살아 있어군요. 일주일 보관하면 살이 좀 빠지는것 같기는 해요.
