Not sure who told you this but the type of high quality stainless steel in SC putters is not magnetic. Very easy to prove go and try it in a golf shop. Lower grade stainless still be firmly hole the magnet.

Scotty Cameron registers all his putters, and the registration number is engraved on the underside of the shaft, just below the grip. You can call them and they will validate a number, as I have done. If there is a number and it's not engraved, but stamped instead, counterfeit. If you're buying on line, just ask for the number. Caveat emptor.
It's a seven digit number, and you can call Scotty Cameron offices in southern California, like I did for one of them. The others came directly from my Titleist rep for our club. Those people will be very helpful, and trustworthy. They hate counterfeits and will do what they can to stop the flood from China. Those from China will have the stinky grip, a decal on the top of the shaft, and be aluminum. I will say, the Chinese do a pretty good job with the counterfeits.

Fakes come with the head shrink wrapped in plastic. And sticker facing wrong way. I know, I bought 2 of them. Lol only ever used one and putt well with it.
have you try to customize your scotty and fail it? I try to burn it or anodize it all fail lol so I finally bomb spray it not easy to do like pro but cannot send to pro to customize as I'm in Laos lol cheers mate love your videos!

I almost did the same thing, but did a little more research/watched your video on my computer and noticed your annotation that's been added. I bought a 2012 Newport Select Notchback on eBay and got all in a fuss over the magnet test, lol. Turns out there's different types of stainless steel so the magnet test is kind of bunk all together. Any word on if a magnet should stick to a 2012 Newport Select Notchback? thanks,

The part about camerons being magnetic is not entirely accurate, 303 stainless steel isn't magnetic. Do extensive research look a the serial number on the back of the shaft and call titleist. The putter head itself Titleist can't verify unless you mail it to them and it costs like $75
His discussion about material is not true. Not all genuine Scotty Cameron are 100% steel. To test whether or not the putter is genuine or not, simply try to remove the weight. If it unscrews, it's real. On counterfeit putters, the weights seem real, but they are not. It can not be removed.

I promise you that the magnet is not sticking to the weight ports… I have a couple 2016 Select Newports here in the shop that are made of 303 stainless… I stuck a magnet to the neck of every one. Not sure what part you think is incorrect? I explained in the annotation that even though stainless steel is not magnetic I called Scotty Cameron and they told me a strong enough magnet will stick because the heads still contain carbon… as demonstrated in he video. I can't say for certain that every putter will work (obviously not aluminum) but every one I've tested has a slight attraction. Lets not forget that this video was made to bring awareness to the fact that fakes do exist and it's better to be over cautious.

303 stainless steel is not magnetic. Your magnet in the vid is sticking to the weight in the base. Correct it or take down!
