1983 was a magical year to be a puppy....this cassette along with Quiet Riot ....Maidens Piece of Mind....and Pyromainia to name a few....I wouldn't trade that era for a zillion dollars! Precious timeless memories....ahhh the 80's....the youth of 2020 will never ever have it that grand!
1983 was also the year that both Slayer and Metallica recorded & released their very first albums, "Show No Mercy" & "Kill 'Em All". Absolutely an extremely important year for how heavy metal, thrash, death metal & all the various sub-genres of metal that have come along since those 2 bands came into the underground scene and sprouted up with their influence to just about any guitar-related music or band you could name since '83 up to the music being made still today. Whether you like them or not, I can just about guarantee that music created by those bands had some sort of influence on whomever are your current favorite bands.
Back in the days .. While we formed our band .. this is what we listened to .. My bass player would eventually go on to join Iced Earth .. This is metal .. this was part of the beginning .. never noticed for what they produced " Tokyo Blade" .. This laid the groundwork for many others to come .
Adnan Ahmed So fuckin good. It's basically the foundation of all the cool metal bands that came from the state. ALL of them. Every thrash band ever is the son of NWOBHM.

Since nobody attempted to say when this song was exactly released, I had to go and look it up. Yes, it is a good song, when I go out of my way to google its history. So, this song was released on Tokyo Blades’ debut LP in 1983. The band is English, not very shocking of course, and the album’s running time is just over 45 minutes. I do not know how I missed this band with all my heavy metal years living through the 80s but I did. I am at once sad, and now glad that I found this puppy here. Thank you for posting! Oh, and the lead singer sounds nothing like Di’Anno.
Jordan I agree with you on that sentiment. I was born in 1993, and I partly wish I was born between 1963-68 so I could've seen metal in its heyday, when there were no rules.
Parker Cestaric hey man, i was born in 85., and i agree with u 1000% brother, i have 4 kids, who love metal, so im trying my best to show/discover real metal with them.
I bought this when it first came out. I remember this track, at least the beginning reminding me of Iron Maiden's "Drifter" with Paul Dianno singing. Great album all around.
i was heard that song 15, maybe 20 (!!!) years ago in an metal compilation tape of a friend that tune stood out but I had forgotten the band and its name... thank god Riot Thundersteel album brought me here! after so many years and i remember every part of the distinctive guitar solo.. great! fucking good old metal

the days.. the days. Happy memories when they played the OLS in The Hague in the early eighties along with Torch and a bunch of other great bands. Metal forever in our hearts!
YES SIR Emerson, i live in Greenville, S.C. & i'll be the first to admit that Britain RULES in the music scene ......PERIOD . & they really RULE in the 80's heavy metal genre !!!!!!!
When you treat sound in PC you loses many frequencies...that will make the difference...and that is why a live concert ( going there!!! ) is still and it will be the best!
Joao G. Pinheiro e que tal calares-te em vez de dizer disparates? PC sound doesn't loose frequencies, though it is wise to cut unwanted frequencies to avoid waste of power and distortion. besides live sound (in a concert) is treated (in a computer usually). the main real difference between a live concert and recording is the sound system it's being played on aka: thousands of euros PA systems vs cheapo Pony crap excuse for speakers and underpowered amps. If you record the mix of a concert digitally and reproduce it on the same hall same sound system, you get EXACTLY THE SAME SOUND, since 20KHz covers the whole range of human hearing.
Tokyo Blade.........what an AWESOME 80's heavy metal outfit that never really got the credit they dezerved & this band is still around today & putting out STILL some KILLER tunes.......ROK-ON.......TOKYO BLADE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This brings me back to the 80s :) I remember I used to play (blast) this on an old cassette player when I walked around in the neighbourhood at night. I thought I was the only one who had found out how good the songs are (no internet back then). haha those were the days. Still great!! Cheers!

This is really a great fucking song. Amazing intensity. The album is a classic but this must be the best tune. It was my fav in the 80's. Still love it all...and always will.

man i haven't heard this song in a few years, last time i heard it was when my radio station got house of hair! great song, great band, love to see them come back
+Raphael Digger well I think iron maiden would appreciate it, considering they have changed their sound many times, inspired by other bands at the time, a lot of bands do that.
Picked up the album of Amazon today with the ep included. It's these albums like these that make me wish I was in the middle of the British metal scene when it happened, not the band's we have now that only exist on Facebook and UA-cam.
Over a million views, not bad for an "obscure" heavy metal band from the early 80s.

There was so much good stuff out that literally nobody in the entire world heard it all. This one also slipped by me and so did others.
I'd buy you 2 gen Xers a beer 🍺

Somebody said he sounds like Paul?? Uh, not even close. And thank you for doing the research so I didn’t have to.
I wonder if they ever performed in Tokyo before
Much of their material wasn’t released in the States. We had to go to an indie store and order their stuff. Worth the expensive price tag though.
heavy metal is timeless
+dst Correa but at the same time makes you pine for being a teenager in the 80's, even if you weren't alive in that decade (or is that just me)
Jordan I agree with you on that sentiment. I was born in 1993, and I partly wish I was born between 1963-68 so I could've seen metal in its heyday, when there were no rules.

All the technology today and computers and pro tools and yet no mater what songs don't sound as "real" and just clear as this does still! You feel it

When you treat sound in PC you loses many frequencies...that will make the difference...and that is why a live concert ( going there!!! ) is still and it will be the best!
i think the same, old school is only real, actually the way of the metal sounds sucks
