we know that Reiner still held himself accountable for his actions in season 4 infront of Eren, asking him for judgement because even after allthe brainwashing that Marley has done, he still continued the mission to attack Paradis because of selfish reasons, he wanted to be the hero that Marcel was out of guilt as well as his ego, wanting to become a good Marlean for his mother and their status.

it’s honestly really sad knowing how young they were when they first attacked the walls. reiner and bertolt (and annie) were only 12 years old when they first broke the walls and when eren’s mom was eaten. think of the amount of trauma they went thru if they’re saying they didn’t have a choice. this is the reason why reiner coped by dissociating himself. he wanted to believe so badly that he was a soldier instead of a warrior and that he didn’t kill all those people by doing that

Berthold and Riener were my favorite characters since day 1..even after season 2 I loved them. Berthold is my favorite character I love his sweet kind heart so much. He cares alot for others and puts the people he loves first. He's an introvert like me.

Yup introverts can always relate to Bertholdt. We may not talk or socialise much, but even quiet guys care deeply for others and have a kind heart. That's why it always pisses me off whenever I see any reactor celebrating his suffering in S3 part 2

Yes you're right Annie, Berthold and Reiner were deeply affected by Marco's death..think about it they were kids when they they first attacked the walls, same age as Eren and the gang. They emotionally distort and challenged by their actions. They were on a daily facing the effects and consequences of their actions. These kids are emotionally scarred.

The scene with Annie laughing isn’t exactly like the manga but the creator Isayama worked closely with Wit studio so any changes or additions made to his work had his input and blessing.
Mikasa already hesitated on the wall when reiner and bert revealed themselves.

They are showing/highlighting the hearts in the opening song because the song's title is "shinzou wo sasageyo" meaning "offer up your hearts"
Also, kudos to Will on understanding Mikasa. She hesitated the first time she attacked Reiner and Bertholdt and that resulted to Eren getting kidnapped. So during this time she's have to be heartless and just focus on getting Eren back, no distractions, no hesitations.

One of the best things about this show is that I remember watching these episodes and thinking “There’s no fucking way we’ll ever get a sensible explanation about why these titan shifters are committing these atrocities against humanity”... And then it turned out I was wrong and the story totally pulls it off. Convincingly.
I can’t obviously say any more to avoid spoilers, but that alone was an achievement in my book.

I think there are variations between the titans in each inheritance. The two jaw titans that look the same were brothers. Ymir is unrelated completely, the difference between her pure titan and jaw titan form is the teeth (biting power), claws, and agility.

Eren had the founding titan and the attack titan from the beginning. The FT gives him the ability to tweak his form as he sees fit (as he gets better with his ability)

Despite his injured anckle, Levi's skills wouldn't be efficient at this point. Specially against Armored, his blades would had been usless (only his tendons). Neither against a possible transformation of Bertholdt into Colossal (remember, they still didn't have all the knowledge or other weapons at this time). Also, had never fought against "smart Titans" before. That's why the mission was simple from the beginning: recover Eren and retreat, don't engage or fight in direct combat in open field with only their OMD gear. Hence, Erwin's charge was smart, bold and suicidal, but smart, leading those Titans to crash and at least stop Reiner for a moment. Remember, Levi did the same against the female Titan, recovered Eren and left.

Honestly, it should be hard for you to simply hate the characters when you don't know the full story of what's going on. Because as long as you're in ignorance you have no idea whether it was for a good reason or not. You have no idea whether or not the writer will eventually make it so that you actually advocate for what they did. Which is why a lot of people take the same mindset as Hange, where retribution, anger, hate, etc. just become so silly when compared to the vast amounts of information you don't have.
