I am painting 8 chairs and the biggest table ever! Or at least, lately, haha. I am not joking tho, this table is 144" or around 3.6 meters! It's Texas sized big as we say in Texas!
My client changed her mind from wanting it painted to wanting it completely stripped and bare wood looking, so come see how I did it, how long it took and how it looks now.

This is a beautiful makeover. I agree with you tables are a hard flip. There is a lot more time spent on them than people know. This one was worth every penny paid by your client but you probably deserved more! Excellent job again this week!

This performance helps those of us with fear of trying to make our old into new. I too own the exact same table. I am moving and need to make my table a pottery barn type also. Talk about a tedious and time staking job!! I think it turned out beautifully...I have been wanting to redo my dining chairs. Paint by hand and re-upolster I get overwhelmed just thinking about painting 6 chairs by hand...this is inspirational..awesome.

Chaaaaaaaaaaaaairs! 😬 They're so worth the effort in the end, but soooo much work. I'll need to look into that stripper, love that it's water clean up. The table turned out insane, Eliana! 😍 That black stripe also ties into the chairs. I have one of those personal table and chair projects that never ends as well. Some day we will finish them! 😆

I have stumbled on your video and you have me sold as a newbie yo your channel! May I ask if something like this is done on our daily table how would it hold up on spills or seating drink glasses? I know that my husband and grandson would not swap by any coasters if I’m not lurking around.
What a trouper you are! I get worn out just doing 4 chairs....8 would push me over the edge!! The dining table is fabulous and the chairs look so modern. I have had a difficult time finding something to use for a natural wood color so I will definitely try DB putty. When you remove the stain from a piece, is there no longer danger of bleed through? Love your videos with the details you share through each phase of the makeover.

Once you remove the stain completely there should be no tannins that would bleed thru unless! The stain isn’t too old and was oil; however the chances of this are very low.
Should this happen you could use a flat clear coat to semi-seal the wood and then do the wash.
Love this video! I have this exact set. It's my mom's and instead of getting rid of it I wanted to update it somehow. I have been searching for something to give me an idea on what to do with it. Thanks so much! I have a project to do! Hopefully it comes out just as beautiful. Did you do anything with the china hutch? My idea was to separate it and make it a wine bar. Thank you. Prime the chairs the same way as all pieces. Clean, sand, prime. 😊
How many hours to do the whole dining set? I want to do mine same. It is hardwood cherry. I also have the buffet table and the China cabinet. I’m afraid Inwill start and never finish bc it’s just too much. And I really want it done by Thanksgiving l. Thanks for your video
Give yourself some grace. Start and promise yourself to finish, doesn’t matter how long it will take. Just commit to it.
I did it in a week but I work 4-6 hrs a day and I’m sure I was doing other projects along side it. Now, remember I do this professionally and have for many years so my pace won’t be the same as yours.
Take your project stages. Table first and finish it. The chairs and finish. Those will take longer, trust me. Then decide whether or not to do the other pieces by your deadline or give yourself a new one, maybe my Xmas. Just star and finish. Don’t start them all at the same time or it will be overwhelming. You can do it. You’ll be so happy and proud. Go for it and have fun.

You need to put clear coat/protective coat

I have a table like this, but it is solid oak and stained a dark wood. Can this be done on a solid oak table as well?
I’m my opinion it will look even prettier done on oak. Oak is the best wood to lighten, bleach and make the bare look with. Go for it.

Where was your mask while sanding!?!? 😂 Your final product was absolutely beautiful!!!!
I use a hepa dust collecting system attached to my sander and less than 1% of dust is released into the air 😉. Thank you so much 🥰

This table was mahogany. It was solid not veneer.

Omg chairs suck to paint!... so i got a sprayer and omg.. it is the biggest time save!!! If you are just painting.
When I first started I did many chairs by hand. I learned to spray because of chairs! 👿 🪑
