Fun fact: One of the tracks in their upcoming EP is called ''Itch for the Cure'' which is definitely a reference to Linkin Park's track ''Cure for the itch''
‘Cure for the itch’ is a reference to cleaning up in rehab, so I think ‘itch for the cure’ probably means replacing the hole left from addiction with another form of self-abuse, but I might be reading into it a bit much
@@roemip You make a interesting point but the title itself isn't a reference towards that. The title is actually a joke based on the composition of the song which is made up primarily of scratches on a turn table. And a scratch would technically be the cure for an itch.

It's funny that everyone keeps being kind of shocked by the Linkin Park vibe. Ollie Sykes has said many times that they were the reason he wanted to be in a band. Great reaction though, as always.

Dont be shocked if you start hearing more nu-metal vibes out there. Its been making a comback for a year or two in both metal and metalcore and even rock.

Intro has heavy Linkin Park vibes, Hybrid Theory. The pre chorus is 100% directly from Promise Me by Badflower. I love the high notes Oli hits in the chorus. His singing is really getting better. Love the breakdown, I wish I was a tad longer. Overall amazing song and I can’t wait for album.
The pre-chorus also reminds me of "Break my heart" by Dua Lipa 😂
The pre chorus is using the Em pentatonic scale which is very common, so that’s why they sound similar
Oli’s clean vocals have improved so much, I’m really digging it. He’s always had a talent for talking about addiction and mental illness in songs, and this music video REALLY illustrates it. I don’t know if he directed it, but as someone who personally has depression, this hit home and I can relate to plenty of the lyrics and the imagery of the monster just looming.

I do like the meaning behind it. Oli said it was about how we get bombarded by bad news and negative news every day from every angle to the point we become desensitised by it, that we lose our empathy.
