I wouldn't say abuse. I think they are instructed to give as many as you want. So go back and eat as many. Not sure about you swiping the whole batch they have when others are waiting though, lol. Etiquette some people don't have this.
I like Costco. I'm extreme disciplined, never browse and only get what's on my list. At costco I strictly purchase gas, bread, cheese and chicken. Everything else I purchase next door at kroger.
Rethink the muffins thing as there's a lot of sugar in it. It gives a sugar shock to your body specially if you eat one full muffin. I can only do maybe 1/4 of a muffin without feeling the sugar too much.
BeatTheBush this was a rare purchase and we usually ate them after cutting in half and putting fresh fruit over it. So it wasn't a total dietary disaster. But, since he died I don't buy muffins. Better to mix a batch of cookies, form into a roll, freeze, and slice off enough dough to bake one or two at a time.
You can return anything at cost co. Their return policy is so good . Even if you open an item and don't like it you can return it . No questions asked. I tried a lot of new things and liked a lot of them . I have returned some items I did not like to use. You can even return an opened package of food if you don't like the taste .
I do know of their very relaxed return policy. It just isn't my style to buy something with a high chance of knowing I would return it. If I must I will but prefer not to stand in another line.
I was looking for a way to give you a hard time but you are just so right about this. Single guy here too and the struggle is real but I definitely love Costco. I get a return of my membership on gas alone, their meat is unbeatable and fresh as hell too... Kirkland Brand is under-rated.
BeatTheBush well I agree with you the vast majority of the time... but saving/spending money is obviously always subjective, that and it's hard to resist the comment section haha
Joseph Harris Kirkland items are always as good or better then the national brand !!! They have great deals on electronic toothbrushes and other items as well
One thing that is a great if you have a Foodsaver. You can vacuum seal meats and other types of perishables. Meat is still great even after a 6 mos or 1 year of being frozen. You might do a review on vacuum sealers as buying in bulk doesn't have to be a loss. Eat half and seal the rest for later. Anyway it works great for us. Thanks for all of your helpful ideas.
I'm skeptical against wrapping things in plastic just due to my paranoia. I am leaning towards putting food in glass jars in stead like those used for canning. Or if you have stainless steel containers but seems like those would cost a lot more.
BeatTheBush depends a LOT on the type of plastic and what goes in it. Some plastics are fine. Others are more dodgy. Acidic things will leach more compounds out. But glass and stainless steel are better. I'm a bit skeptical that this kind of plastic use will accumulate enough of a negative effect, with exceptions like bpa.
At Costco here in Canada: it's often still a cost savings to buy in bulk even if you throw away 25% - 50% of the items. Individual items at the grocery store - especially fruit and veg is very expensive at other stores.
Hmmm depends on which store for fruits and veg. Over in Bay Area, we have Sprouts which offer really low prices for fruits and veggies. It's often cheaper than Costco.
You're definitely correct, I don't regret throwing away some items i.e. leftovers/rotten food simply because I'm still saving a significant amount of money over retail.
+BeatTheBush yes, too big. It's so easy to over spend. Everything's so good at first. The trick I use is to put things I want into the cart, walk around with it, & before I check out reevaluate everything. It works every time!
I finally got a Costco membership and i do love shopping bulk items there. You are right I have wasted money by buying drinks & food in bulk they expired before i could finish it. I’ll be taking your advice and buying the Rotisserie chicken then freezing the rest.
Bred Saint my experience is with the better more expensive membership? For me no, and they refunded the difference. We now have the basic membership. And for the staples that we consume. It pays for itself. But not much more. That's our experience.
William Simonson - Living in a small apartment and not having a deep freezer, I would have no place to store bulk items or I would have to eat something until I can't stand it - like he mentioned. I might try it though for tissue and Scott Shop towels. It might be worth it for a few dry goods with long shelf life. I love white rice, but have decided to cut back on white carbs.
I have always made my worth with the membership...I get the executive one and have got back like 95-100 as cashback every year and the cost of that membership is 120...so totally worth it. Two household share the membership...so it is very effective..you just need to plan your purchases !
It depends if you buy the right things and compare what you would spend if you buy things at strategic and on sale times at regular grocery stores. I often buy meat much cheaper than costco. If you buy minimal stuff at Costco, you can try out this free method of shopping there here: ua-cam.com/video/4a4NzKEWy14/v-deo.html
You cannot compare what you get back as cashback directly to the membership. You have to subtract out what you would have gotten if you get a good cash back card on groceries that can net you 2-5%.
Family Staples, dish liquid, laundry detergent, toilet paper, vinegar, cooking oil shampoo. Just be sure to know the price and availability at the local markets before buying. And now they have "buy limits' for those items. And TP actually has a additive to it for it to degrade. Super cheap source for shampoo is Beauty Supply Shops, for Toilet Paper, industrial supply houses
BeatTheBush exactly. It's Best to know when their peak hours at the pumps are. I found that early and before closing are best times to buy gas at my local Costco.
i buy case lots twice a year at the commissary. it may seem strange for one person to have a few months of supplies on hand, there may be weeks that i'm unable to leave home to shop. i'm not sold on buying food online.
I boil a small amount of rice in a huge pot with a ton of water. Arsenic leaches into the water and gets thrown out. In the beginning I was getting mushy rice, but now I have it pretty close to steam rice....and healthier. It's how they cook rice in India.
True, you are right. Where rice comes from does make a big difference. Also, from what I read in the attached review study, washing rice will have little or no effect on reducing arsenic. The most effective method is cooking in 6 parts water to 1 part rice and then discarding the water. A lot of people eat rice and arsenic is cumulative in the body so if you find good info on the subject, you can make a video and teach a lot of people :) www.food.gov.uk/sites/default/files/322-1-599_LEVELS_of_ARSENIC_in_RICE_-_EFFECTS_OF_COOKING.pdf
I freeze the muffins and warm them in the microwave. Their cheeses freeze well also. The snacks such as chips I sometimes have trouble finishing. There are four in our household and even the bulk fruit goes fairly quickly. You cant go wrong buying the canned goods and frozen vegetables and meats, some of the best buys st Costco in my opnion.
The argument that vitamin supplements are not effective is certainly a reasonable discussion to have, but in terms of the size of the package at Costco, the fact is that many people take their supplements daily, according to a regimen, and they do use the whole bottle. The allergy medication I take daily comes in a 365 tablet bottle, so I pay one cheap price for the whole year. In many cases, especially for medicines and supplements, the price is so low you can throw half away and still save money. I recently bought generic Tylenol at the pharmacy, and it was about $10 for 48 pills. At Costco, generic acetaminophen was $12 for 1000 pills! I gave away one bottle of 500, and I have more than I will ever need until these pills expire in two years. I don't recommend wasting, but the economy in this case promotes waste.
They? Who is they that use the whole bottle? I bet we need some stats on this and many many people actually finish it. Yeah... you really do not need that much. It'll hurt your body before you can finish it. You probably could divvy it up with others and only keep about 100 pills?
People who take a group of supplements every day based on the belief that they are getting some benefit from it do take the supplements every day until they run out. My mom takes multivitamins, green tea pills, biotin, lutein and fish oil every day and has gone through many bottles over the years. It is probably less likely that people use the whole bottle of medicines you only take when you need them.
I agree! We (family of 3) use up the entire bottle of vitamins well before the expiration date. We also stock up on things like Emergen-C and cold/flu medicine. These are things we never want to be out of when we need them to prevent the spread of colds and missing work/school. So there's value to us in buying these things once a year or every over year (whenever they're expired or empty).
BeatTheBush Yeah! Haha. My wife is viet, she loves rice and this is her favorite substitute. It's good in its own world, but rice is still really good but those carbs.
I get the chocolate muffins put them in the freezer with the wrapper off put it in the microwave on a cold day (I live in Canada) it tastes just like a brownie
I would say.. .never. Or... ummm when the expenses of keeping it is projected to be too much. But that has to do with your estimating how much it'll cost. I generally like to drive my cars until its dead. 16 year old Porsche is my main car right now.
I'm debating which Costco card to get. Should I get Gold Star card for $60/ yr or Gold Star Executive for $120/yr? I don't have a family. I do live with my boyfriend.
Costco: Good for food if you know when you're going to eat it and it doesn't go off. Excellent for cleaning products and other dry items that don't expire
Have you done an analysis of whether you've saved enough in purchases to justify the $55 annual membership? I am skeptical that you're saving enough in unit price purchases to justify the membership.
I don't pay the $55 membership. I shop there pretty infrequently, like once a quarter that I use the free method. I outline it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/4a4NzKEWy14/v-deo.html
i try to find foods that is close to the sell by date and either eat it or freeze it. one of my co workers threw away some of my frozen food because it was past the sell by date. how long can you freeze food for? 3 years or longer?
You need to invest in a freezer, for some of the food stuff at Costco. Whenever I’ve purchased a box of muffins I put the package in the freezer. Try brown rice it’s better for you and it’s not too different from white rice.
I don't buy muffins because they contain carbs and as much sugar as a can of coke. I'll probably cut off eating white rice and go for barley instead. It tastes pretty similar to me, lol.
Pretty much anything that can be frozen and nonperishable items I regularly use, I buy from Costco. I think I can get better deals if I use coupons and shop around, but I still can get a decent deal without too much hassle buying those bulk items from Costco.
Just getting the free samples is worth the cost of membership! I love window shopping and people watching at Costco! Sundays are the worst days to go. So many crazy Asian drivers and shoppers where I'm at.
I actually *do* use all the vitamins... but I'm probably the only person ever lol. My dad, grandma, aunt, and cousins have TONS of unused/expired vitamins & supplements, mostly from Costco. Great points, as always.
Can you make a video on the Unit Pricing Labels in most stores (not all states)? If you use the unit pricing tactic while shopping you can save on nearly every item (mind you check the math yourself to make sure). Grocery stores use packaging sizes to trick consumers into spending more Per oz./ unit. I have found most people don’t even know about this fine print on the label. Thanx!
Quinoa is yummy! It is a bit more expensive but I like it. Not sure if you have ever tried couscous but it's similar. Maybe you can do another cooking video?...... 🙂
I have. They are okay. I never tried to eat it regularly though. Yeah, I'm always looking to make more cooking ones. The saving money ones will appear on this channel but some for the heck of it cooking vids will appear on BeatTheBushDIY channel. I have two channels currently.
Costco has an amazing return policy.. you can return ANYTHING even 1/2 eatin food. So if you end up not liking some bulk food item bring it back with receipt and they will give you your money back :)
But will anyone return 6 muffins that are moldy since they couldn't finish it? It's hard to look the customer service n the face and return something like that.
lol wow I was just weighing out buying a Costco membership. I love their food and some of their athletic clothes but i don't know if I can justify it being single
If you only go there once in a blue moon, you can do that for free without too much hassle. I've outline the method here: ua-cam.com/video/4a4NzKEWy14/v-deo.html
My wife and I love Costco. Meat, chicken, feta cheese, cereals, some latejuly organic quinoa chips (not cheap), Kirkland jam, Kirkland pesto, wine some times no bad, vitamins, some specials like $70 off on new set of Bridgestone tires. Installation included. Rotations and balance free at any location plus the warranty 80k miles. 2% back from the executive membership and 2% back from BoA cash reward card because is from Costco (applies as a whole sale club), Bacardi $2 cheaper, shampoos, soaps, vitamins, granola bars, latejuly, only specials...
But many of those things that you consider a requirement could have a fresh perspective on them in terms of how much you really need them. I'm not going to pick an example since those items are pretty staple. It's a whole paradigm shift to not have one of those you pick.
I'm giving up on Costco. Aldi's built a store next door and one day I went in because Costco failed to have an Item that I buy every week and discovered Aldi's is considerably cheaper. This year my spending dropped by over 50% at Costco. I don't thinking I'm saving any money now after the membership fee.
BeatTheBush i take vitamins but sometimes i wonder if i even should. As I've said elsewhere, humans got by without vitamin supplements for millennia. Why now except in certain circumstances?
Alone yes. But then if you only want to eat 1/4 of a muffin to reduce the sugar shock, it's like eating 48 little muffins. You really need a huge family to do this while minimizing diabetes danger.
Hearing aids -- Costco let me buy ONE aid after determining (by their testing) that the second one would do nothing for my "profoundly deaf" other ear. Half the cost of getting it someplace else.
BeatTheBush is that so? That’s good I don’t drink soda. But that means it’s good to individually freeze the muffins so u can just have it like once a week or so.
I thought you might mention gift cards and travel deals at Costco yet you only talked about grocery items. Care to elaborate later? I’m interested in signing up for Costco again specifically for their restaurant and travel deals. I’ve tried saving money buying groceries there in the past and always ended up spending too much. I’d much rather shop in a regular grocery store for groceries getting only what I need with tons of coupons along with a cash back card.
Restaurant is a lose lose situation as spending on them will really hurt your bottom line. So best is to cook good healthy food at home. Travel deals? Is it ever that good a deal?
BeatTheBush - I like your thrifty style. Yes, buying a restaurant gift card can be forcing you to spend more. Maybe it’d be better to buy 4 roasted chickens, separate them out, and put them in the freezer for later for various recipes. I feed a family of 5 and my children are only getting bigger. I have my eye on Costco’s Disney family packages but I haven’t looked into it that much. I also really like how they have Sunday afternoon eye exams available.
Hell yes! Costco is amazing! only buy car batteries here. They are cheap, excellent quality and have a great warranty. Also, gas is usually the cheapest in the area, thus, paying for the membership. I get parmesan crisps with blue diamond smokehouse almonds and Duke's smoked shorty sausages. Makes a quick roadtip charcuterie that has little to no preservatives.
Coffee beans, organic milk, eggs, paper towels, toilet paper contact lens solution, and cashews. Some meats, salads, organic whipping cream and snacks for parties.
Those are items you can get. But are you saying to get them or NOT get them? Seems like the first. But coffee beans is debatable in terms of cancer causing.
BeatTheBush these are items that are good quality and value at Costco. These are items that never go to waste in my household. Also gas is much less expensive at Costco in my area. These items are rarely if ever on sale. Buying in bulk also is more economical because it will save you travel time and fuel. I don't think we will ever know with certainty which foods cause cancer. Not in our lifetime at least. I hope coffee does not ☹️
Well, burning food or roasting it causes cancer. But how much can you have with no ill effects no one knows. I do know some people can cough like crazy after having coffee since it's not the easiest on your throat.
BeatTheBush that's cause coffee is brewed at 185. That's crazy and people drink it at 120-150, scorches your throat but if you do it daily you might not notice after awhile. We've been roasting and grilling for millennia. I don't think it's an issue. Everything causes cancer these days. I'm gonna stick with what worked for 10,000 years
BeatTheBush I agree that burned food could cause cancer but there is a difference between burning and roasting. I hope the coffee makers know the difference. But I guess we are straying off topic. Costco can have value but we have to keep an eye on the wasted product. In general it is good to strive to be less wasteful in all aspects of life. Thanks for putting out good content.
Buy the item and freeze what you can’t use within a few days .... I freeze the croissants all the time - ask a friend/ family to go half on items that you can’t use up .
BeatTheBush ... they freeze amazingly ... just freeze them in a zip lock within 2 days . When you want to eat one just take one out of the ziplock and slice it in half and toast lightly ... it tastes better than any other croissant ... no need to thaw
your pets are getting weirder by the day. Hmm a steak disguising as pea....haha So do you feel like the minimal stuff you buy at costco is still worth for you to get the membership at costco. And which membership level do you get . You didn't say how often you visit costco. Monthly or bimonthly or more frequent. I've gotten out of my membership for a while now. However, I did get a groupon deal "new members" only :D I'm deciding which month I should start my membership
Weirder?!?!?! I'm gonna tell them what you said... What membership. I don't have a membership but I buy stuff from there anyway. How? Here: ua-cam.com/video/4a4NzKEWy14/v-deo.html
One thing about Costco is you cannot "sample" bulk items like shampoo, flavored non-dairy creamers, or certain frozen food items. Certainly you are able to return with a receipt, but this gets old to stand in line over and over with each visit. I do like the Amazon returns policy. I have purchased and returned numerous tennis shoes and watches until I determine the ones I wish to keep.
You have a point here. I never verbalized this. They never really cook the frozen shrimp, maybe too expensive. They do make some microwavable stuff though. Returning is an option and like you, I hate standing in line so I avoid returning if I can.
Thanks for your suggestion. You have to sure, I think about this every time. I'll be adding more quality and visuals in the coming weeks. This is of course part of my continual improvement process. =D
You can shop at Costco without a membership if you have friends and family buy you costco gift cards😊 giftcards keeps you on budget and i save 55 dollars a year
I manage my own portfolio. From time to time, I talk about particular investments I made and why. The playlist is here: ua-cam.com/play/PLAffnc1joZvapKhltdbgRrJm1D-CYlesK.html
I like your repeated call to action at the end. If you were to prerecord the message it would lack integrity and authenticity. Plus you give a human touch with your smile.
i live in a household of 6 with 2 dogs, costco is LIFE!
we finish EVERYTHING!
And don't forget to abuse your relationship with the samples lady :)
I wouldn't say abuse. I think they are instructed to give as many as you want. So go back and eat as many. Not sure about you swiping the whole batch they have when others are waiting though, lol. Etiquette some people don't have this.
Why abuse when you can get in bed with a few of them.
Hey, hey! You are talking about me!
@@wsue1038 I need at least 3 or 4 of the sample to decide...
@@Pulpswo you can take as many of the samples that you like.
Some things freeze better than you think. I find cold cuts, some cheese, and bread actually freeze well
Agreed.
Clarence Lee i think the less water the better it freezes
I like Costco. I'm extreme disciplined, never browse and only get what's on my list. At costco I strictly purchase gas, bread, cheese and chicken. Everything else I purchase next door at kroger.
Consider bread easily converted to sugar in the body. I think whole wheat is better though.
Yo Matt, you back online for now?
BeatTheBush historically white bread was eaten by the rich and healthy and brown was eaten by the unhealthy and poor
I agree that bread is terrible. difficult with my occupation to find other foods that I can eat on the go while I'm doing things.
I'm online regularly. However, I don't make videos anymore because UA-cam doesn't pay like it used to.
2 words:
TOILET PAPER.

Muffins can be put in small zip lock bags then frozen and will last a few months without any loss of flavor.
+margaretsville But should you even eat them at all freshness aside.
If you don't buy $4.99 rotisserie chicken every time you visit you're doing it wrong 😂
Kevin Eusebio YES 👍🏾👏🏾😎
Sometimes you get sick of eating too many but buying it as you feel like it most the time.
When I get sick of chicken then I hit the Polish dog or pizza. Very unhealthy but then I got my workout on the big boxes of beer.
is it really 3 lbs? at walmart it's 29 oz chicken for 4.99
Kevin Eusebio that chicken tastes terrible.
What about getting a few friends together and purchasing that stuff then dividing it up between everyone? That would reduce waste for sure!
Get a chest freezer. Mine is rated at 30 bucks of energy use a year
As a couple, my husband and I would buy muffins, package them in quart sized bags and freeze. Same for large quantity meats.
Rethink the muffins thing as there's a lot of sugar in it. It gives a sugar shock to your body specially if you eat one full muffin. I can only do maybe 1/4 of a muffin without feeling the sugar too much.
BeatTheBush i bake my own and wrap, freeze and enjoy.
1:05 - 1:20 "Dont buy this muffin stuff" ✔ i never really believed in them anyways. Just lazy cakes if you ask me.
Lazy cakes.... lol =D

BeatTheBush few think about the time cost of things
Well said! Costco for smaller families nowadays doesn't work as great for sure. Sticking to the non-perishables is key.
I was looking for a way to give you a hard time but you are just so right about this. Single guy here too and the struggle is real but I definitely love Costco. I get a return of my membership on gas alone, their meat is unbeatable and fresh as hell too... Kirkland Brand is under-rated.
Are you here to challenge me rather than be a yes man? Very well. =D
BeatTheBush well I agree with you the vast majority of the time... but saving/spending money is obviously always subjective, that and it's hard to resist the comment section haha
Lol. I don't hold a grudge. Make harsh comments if you will.

Well, I guess I like living dangerously. LOL
Noooo... safety first!
Food Saver is great. I put in a spoonful of marinate in the bag. Canning is good, too, but more hassle.
BeatTheBush depends a LOT on the type of plastic and what goes in it. Some plastics are fine. Others are more dodgy. Acidic things will leach more compounds out. How do you dampen the echo in your videos since your walls aren’t covered in foam?

I love costco
I ignore those mostly but I think about the reduced effectiveness of expired vitamins. I don't take them anyway so what do I know.
Put 3/4 in freezer immediately. Divide it in fourth. Most items freeze well.
Except the muffins has as much sugar as a can of soda.
exactly! I've made 2 trips to Costco before & spent $15 each time. I was so proud of myself after having spent $80 in one trip.
Sometimes the bills are really large going to Costco. =/
+BeatTheBush especially when you purchase things needlessly. Battery's, toiletries, towels, school supplies & things like that are worth it.

Secret. Don't buy drinks at all. It's all sugar anyway. =D It takes getting used to. Make tea and drink water at home. Or... almond milk tea. =D
Sheene Arca I'll buy you in bulk😂
Invest in a Vacuum sealer... Will keep your foods fresh for twice as long.
Hmmm I rather buy glass canning jars for storage. Don't like the idea of plastic around my food.
BPA lol spelled it wrong
Would the money you save buying at Costco offset the annual membership fee you pay?

I work in a lab that test metals, one of my coworkers brought in some chinese rice, it was a nondetect for arsenic. The arsenic thing is a myth.
Interesting. Thank you for pointing that out. It is the mid US rice that has high levels they say.
The rice that has arsenic in it was rice grown in former tobacco fields. I buy Lundbergh rice(not grown in former tobacco fields).
Also costco gasoline gives good savings compared to nearby gas stations. That savings will pay for the membership over a years time l
If there is no line, then go for it. If there is a line all the time, consider the time cost.
No, it's not strange to have supplies.
Everyone should have 3 months supply bare minimum. Plus I hate shopping. I buy bulk and shop less. Except fresh vegetables.
That smile at the end makes it worth watching you say the ending over and over again!
Ehhh... yah I do... I say the same thing... roughly... lol. People ask why I don't just cut in something, I dunno, it's just the way I do it.
I boil a small amount of rice in a huge pot with a ton of water. Arsenic leaches into the water and gets thrown out. In the beginning I was getting mushy rice, but now I have it pretty close to steam rice....and healthier. It's how they cook rice in India.

you gave me a chuckle describing walking the length of the store to get to the Rotisserie chicken.
Lol... just make sure you ignore everything and go straight to it.
Quinoa with onion powder and sea salt pepper mixed with oregano. Cook it in the rice cooker.
Oh yeah? I was thinking of cooking those small grains in a rice cooker.
BeatTheBush Yeah! Haha. My wife is viet, she loves rice and this is her favorite substitute. It's good in its own world, but rice is still really good but those carbs.
You forgot butter or olive oil.
I get the chocolate muffins put them in the freezer with the wrapper off put it in the microwave on a cold day (I live in Canada) it tastes just like a brownie
Went to Costco today, kept your words in my mind. It was a mad mess (day before thanksgiving).
Lol... lots of people there buying in a frenzy?
I bought a case of envelopes in 9 years ago and still have some of them but the glue is drying out:)
Hmmm... need the glue or else the tape might cost more to seal it? Maybe use elmer's glue to close it.
Can you do a video on 'when to part with your car?'
Awesome vids btw
I would say.. .never. Or... ummm when the expenses of keeping it is projected to be too much. But that has to do with your estimating how much it'll cost. I generally like to drive my cars until its dead. 16 year old Porsche is my main car right now.
If i have an executive membership.. and i make purchases in store with costco cash card.. do i get 2% rewards on those purchases?
I'm debating which Costco card to get. Should I get Gold Star card for $60/ yr or Gold Star Executive for $120/yr? I don't have a family. I do live with my boyfriend.
Costco: Good for food if you know when you're going to eat it and it doesn't go off. Excellent for cleaning products and other dry items that don't expire
Have you done an analysis of whether you've saved enough in purchases to justify the $55 annual membership? I am skeptical that you're saving enough in unit price purchases to justify the membership.
micglobal gas should be enough to offset it if you fill up at Costco gas compared to others
Ahhhh the expiration date does not need to be strictly followed indeed. But that really makes many people uncomfortable.
this mainly aplies too food
I agree. It seems you can freeze more items than you think but I often prefer to not do so for freshness.
how about buying Costco via Instacart? (online grocery delivery) no membership fee required
When someone picks your groceries, you don't have a choice on the freshest.
I have a bjs membership and some things are really worth it, but some things are worse then Walmart and the local discount supermarket
agreed.
I love your new style shirts - very hip, stylish, up-to-date classic look - good fit, too.
Up to date... lol. You know all these shirts I'm wearing I bought them 5+ years ago. I just started ironing them and wearing them again.
Just getting the free samples is worth the cost of membership! I love window shopping and people watching at Costco! Sundays are the worst days to go. So many crazy Asian drivers and shoppers where I'm at.
Or you can still buy stuff at Costco without the membership. ua-cam.com/video/4a4NzKEWy14/v-deo.html
WingChunBoyz ow that’s so true. One time someone tried to do a right turn from the left side of the road.
Eagle 🦅 claw
Sometimes the bulk pack paper is more expensive then the supermarket and Walmart
I can see that happening.
I'll tell something for sure, You can never have enough toilet paper with a family.
I actually *do* use all the vitamins... but I'm probably the only person ever lol. My dad, grandma, aunt, and cousins have TONS of unused/expired vitamins & supplements, mostly from Costco. Great points, as always.
I really wonder if they have a meaningful impact on health though. Is it not possible to eat all this from fresh food?
Canned foods is really great for costco shopping, takes years to expire.
It really is. Anything in bulk. But I'm weary of eating too much canned foods.
Im just sad that costco removed the very berry smoothie with some healthy berry shake that is nowhere as good :(
Oh yeah? I best that thing has a TON of sugar in it. I tasted it before... VERY sweet but very good. I had one bite.
The muffins thing is true the first one and second one are delicious, to finish rest unless that you have the munchies
Great to eat a bite. =D
Ahhh.. it can be a trap sometimes if you buy stuff you cannot finish or even some things are not the cheapest.
We get our vitamins at Costco and we do finish them and repurchase
Nice. I don't take any vitamins myself. I think I'm doing okay.
BeatTheBush i take vitamins but sometimes i wonder if i even should. As I've said elsewhere, humans got by without vitamin supplements for millennia. Why now except in certain circumstances?
Is impossible to empty that box
Alone yes. But then if you only want to eat 1/4 of a muffin to reduce the sugar shock, it's like eating 48 little muffins. You really need a huge family to do this while minimizing diabetes danger.
My sister in law saved $2,000 CDN on hearing aids at Costco. She also buys almond butter in bigger jars for a lot less.
Hearing aids -- Costco let me buy ONE aid after determining (by their testing) that the second one would do nothing for my "profoundly deaf" other ear. Half the cost of getting it someplace else.
Good video. Your stuffed animals are funny. The dinosaur looks angry. LOL.
Dino's look is more like... nonchalant or don't care. =D
Just so u know u can freeze the Costco muffins too. I’ve tried it :)
Yeah but just so you know. A Costco muffin contains just as much sugar as a can of coke. Yikes!
You have to wonder how the kids got to liking Disney in the first place. It's all the cartoons and TV they have been watching.
BeatTheBush - Of course. Grandparents have all the movies on VHS and use them when babysitting. When you have kids, you’ll understand.
Short notes: 1. if youre a single person or a small family you should have a freezer to store whatever you buy from CostCo..
I like rice. Havent made any for a long time. Maybe check some out next time im at the grocery store.
Sometimes, I don't know what to eat anymore.
Some thoughts on that. Gas might have too long a wait which defeats the purpose. Processed meats might not be the best for your health.
Super high in sodium
Maybe it's a good idea to split the cost and items of Costco stuff with friends.
That IS a great idea.
Welcome to Costco, I love you.
=D
Hey BTB the L.O.D.R does not include whiskey, bourbon or beer...lol
What is LODR?
Great video!
Thank!
What's costco?
Basic membership is $55/year. Things are lower priced but you have to buy in bulk. Generally targeted at middle class families.
Andreas Vannfält - en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Costco. There are other ones such as BJ's, and Sam's Club.
I did that with provolone and turkey slices. Too much!
Toilet paper? But didn't you say to purchase a bidet?
You still need toilet paper even with a bidet. It just minimize usage.
P Lindsay WHAT WHERE IS THIS VIDEO LMAO
I didn't notice the 3 peas until 8:35 😂
=) =D =)
I would like to be a patreon but ur videos taught me monthly payments are bad
Get a free audiobook then?
Buy the item and freeze what you can’t use within a few days .... I freeze the croissants all the time
- ask a friend/ family to go half on items that you can’t use up .
Good idea. Do croissants freeze well? Ehhh I don't eat those too much though. Will have to see if it has preservatives.
BeatTheBush ... they freeze amazingly ... just freeze them in a zip lock within 2 days . When you want to eat one just take one out of the ziplock and slice it in half and toast lightly ... it tastes better than any other croissant ... no need to thaw
You actually don’t even need a membership to shop there. Just buy gift cards and that allows you in the door to be able to shop there anytime
phototristan oh really !! I never been to Costco , if you are saying is true then I would shop their for trial
I will try this great idea!
Seeds of Change Quinoa with Brown Rice would be healthier than White Rice.
I agree but darn that brown rice tastes not so good.
your pets are getting weirder by the day. Hmm a steak disguising as pea....haha
So do you feel like the minimal stuff you buy at costco is still worth for you to get the membership at costco.
Gotta check out those parmesan crisps.
Those are pretty pricey and really dangerous to have around.
Challenge accepted
Combo pizza slice, love samples exposed to new foods.
Meatpod?
Might be a new type of steak. Not sure if that will taste good though.
At Costco they check your receipt at the door in case you didn't spend enough they send your ass back inside
just a friendly suggestion : show us the items that you are mentioning, either show it directly or give us a google image so we can get the idea :D
William Wonders - Plus. Adds visual interest to video.
Thanks for your suggestion. You have to sure, I think about this every time. I'll be adding more quality and visuals in the coming weeks. This is of course part of my continual improvement process. =D
BeatTheBush I here in this section looking for those parmesan chips
Whats up with the stuffed animals? Weird.
Just using their Optical pays for my membership! I save money
You can shop at Costco without a membership if you have friends and family buy you costco gift cards😊 giftcards keeps you on budget and i save 55 dollars a year
Recommended only if you go there a few times a year. More than that it becomes a hassle.
the steak in the pod looks like something else
So where do you put all this money you save
He invests it. He will likely retire in 5-10 years if not sooner.
In what
I manage my own portfolio. From time to time, I talk about particular investments I made and why. The playlist is here: ua-cam.com/play/PLAffnc1joZvapKhltdbgRrJm1D-CYlesK.html
Awesome I think it will likely take more then 10 years
Ha ha ha... I shall communicate this on this channel as things progress.
I’m following your smile balls in all your videos 😉😉😉
Smile balls = peas in a pod from Toy Story.
I like your repeated call to action at the end. If you were to prerecord the message it would lack integrity and authenticity. Plus you give a human touch with your smile.
Some people wonder why I re-record it every time. That's just the way I do it. Glad you like it that way. =D
I like it, iterating on the ending ;D
=D If I didn't do it so many times, it would not be as smooth.
