Hey Joel love your vlogs how long would it take me in an cab from your moms holiday home to Disney just trying to see how far away it is please as don’t drive x
I’ve waffled back and forth about the soda steam. Really don’t want another “thing” on my kitchen counter. Good to see here in the comments that people really like them. Glad you and Keegan had a lovely weekend to yourselves 🤍🤍
I’m bad about that. I’ve bought a few appliances that seemed so cool and I thought I’d use em. Guess what? I haven’t. lol. A few times at most, maybe
Nice wakeup this morning. Coffee and Joel. Can't ask for more. Enjoyed the video. Best to Keegan. Take care
So proud of you Joel. It’s always best to be KIND. Thank your parents for raising you correctly. “Please and Thank You” is always the route to take.
Your UK Costco store is setup exactly the same as Costco in Canada. Always fun to shop with Joel. We stopped buying bottled water years ago and just started drinking tap-water again. Regards from Canada 🇨🇦
Famous Last Words: “My maths is not good, guys!”
(I’d like to see a video where Joel reads spreadsheets)
Love when you say “trollies” we say cart! 🤣 love the vids! ❤❤
What I've learned about comparing prices at Costco for things like kitchenware or vacuums etc is that you need to look carefully at the "extras" added to the Costco item. For the soda stream, things like extra storage bottles, flavorings, newer model of machine...these things usually make the Costco version more of a deal compared to Amazon.
Just my experience talking here 😊
I've had a soda streamer for years now and love it! You can easily adjust the fizziness of your water; I prefer a very fizzy beverage myself. You can swap out cartriges for a reduced price when you turn in your used canisters. Enjoy!
Things i’ve learned about shopping at Costco… 1. never go on a weekend, it’s a madhouse.. 2. Everyone is rude, no one feels they need to move out of the way and for some strange reason they feel like it’s OK to walk in front of a moving cart… (don’t they know I will run right into them?) 3. It’s not always cheaper…. many times it is, but not always.
Agreed - it is cheaper at some thimgs but more expensive elsewhere, so in the end costco = meh.
The Soda streamer that plugs in the wall and has set dosages is the one our family love best, worth paying that bit more for it.
You have an entire year to pay off the membership fee. @@hispid1
Love shopping with you, especially since I don't have to deal with the crowds of rude folks. I used to work in that deli area making all those pizzas it was freezing. Tell them thank you if you ever go by and they are out there they work really hard. Also, I had to pass the bakery on every break and try to not die of how good it smells. But being gluten intolerant, I knew it wasn't worth it.
How you enjoyed your time away in London. Thanks for taking us along!
I would love to shop there - but because my partner is is part of the privatised NHS. Also I am a retail worker. We are not part of selected. We lucked out AGAIN
That North face green jumper is my fave colour and will really suit your hair colour and skin tone
I live in Leeds so that's my local Costco! Very handy to know what's in there at the moment! I don't go during half term though and try to avoid weekends! I love a Costco haul 😊
Well, I like a quieter kind of video, with a walk through the back fields or a chat and a walk to Dunkins. Or a normal weekly routine vlog. I remember you were saying long form YT wasn't really doing anything for you financially. I hope this kind of video keeps you on YT. I watch everything you post, regardless. Glad you and Keegan got some away time in London.
Not a Costco shopper. But fun to watch you shopping and talking about what you are buying and why. At the end in London. Had your Maison Kitsune shirt on. And “yes” it is a combo of French and Japanese “kitsune”. Kitsune translates to “fox” in English. BUT, Kitsune are also tricksters in Japanes folklore. The folklore version have 9 tails and can live for hundreds of years.
I'm watching this video a second time. I like those 2 North Face jumpers you picked out. I love the colors. I'm sorry this visit for you wasn't so pleasant this time. Maybe next time will be better.😮❤
Have had soda stream for over 10 years. I love it. Best is you’re not lugging soda bottles. Good for the environment.
Yeah, Shopping with Joel, I love videos with different youtubers Shopping in others countries! More videos like this, Joel! I love that green ❤❤ I'm A vendor and work in retail for 10years and i Hate Rude customers, i tired of entitled customers
To be fair, SOME com[panies have a policy where you cannot sell their products cheaper than (fill in the price here, USUALLY the price they sell at, but I can see them figuring NO ONE would sell it cheaper than that anyway, so they just put in a number that's close enough to what they are likely to sell it for). Maybe not the case here - but could be... I know it happens, because I've been on the buying side for a retailer before (not Costco, sadly, but a retailer).
Just a thought.
I love that this video came out as I’m planning my trip to Costco tomorrow haha 😂
Thanks for the video tour Joel. You have to watch and compare prices. Costco is not always cheaper when you can get the items on sale elsewhere. However, I also have a membership. I get petrol there, and their rotisserie chicken for $5 would feed me for 4 days. I browse thru, but the quantities are more than a single guy can use. On electronics, Costco extends the warranty to 2 years on televisions, projectors, computers and major appliances.
I was kind of surprised in the UK store that the large price did not include VAT and the price with VAT was hidden in small print on the bottom. That seemed sort of misleading where in the US we are accustom that sales tax is never included in the price.
Joel, I have had Sodastream for around 2 years... no looking back!!! And you can add a bit of lemon to your sparkling Sodastreamed water and.... it is the best! )
Fun Costco run! Hope you are well Joel! 😊
Costco in the US is the same. Some stuff is a bargain but they may or may not have the same thing next time. You frequently have to buy food in huge quantities. No problem for paper towels etc but food goes bad or you have to freeze.
The sodastream is not perfect. You get stuck with throwing away the metal bottles that carry the carbonation gas.
Those soap dispensers would go with your sangria jug!!
Are your dog so sweet ❤
Without frugality none can be rich, and with it very few would be poor.
With how the economy is right now, retail is not having as many sales and if items are on sale, they are not as low as they were. This is Canada currently, sounds like the same there.
I enjoyed going on this shopping trip with you.
We love sodastream. Just for sparkling water not the flavours. We have to drive down a mountain road to recycle so anything we can do to reduce our recycling journey…
What is that sticker on your right sleeve?
Bottled water is still good
I fill a small cooler for when i leave the Casa
Sodastream is great, but you have to keep a good source the CO2 canisters
I had a Soda Stream. We used it for years. The syrups are cheaper at Costco / on their Website
fun vid Joel, Im visiting London in July, any tips/tricks? Its my first time!
TESCO at the moment is 24 cans Pepsi max £5 with club card
Joel, you have a very nice voice.
I have a Soda Stream and it works great. Mine is the older style shaped like a penguin!🐧
enjoy yourself when you can !!
Joel watch for a price reduction in the coming weeks formthe North Face jumpers. If they go on sale in the next 30 days, Costco will refund your money. Also, could you please explain the VAT tax and why you were paying that price instead of the listed price on the Costco sign? This may be helpful for those of us that may be traveling to the UK.
A FREE Bottle of Pepsi ... My Christ you would expect a bloody bottle of Moët & Chandon for the price of a Sodastream Joel Lol 😂 ... I do Love 🥰 your shopping 🛍️ vlogs but sadly I can't go to big shopping places like Costco atm as I'm currently homeless and my council has put me in a private hotel in Rhos on sea ( Near LLandudno in North Wales ) until I can find a one bedroom flat in Rhyl , North Wales Joel Xxx
Joel ive had a soda stream and they are good as a gimmick youd soon get board youl also find getting concentrate and gas expensive and hard to get
How to get in please?
Joel defo get Soda stream the best had mine for 10 years would not be with out it
I feel you...
I always try to be kind. And in return I get rudeness.. 🤨
I hate that we have to buy things triple wrapped in plastic like whats the point half the time
Too short and happy 16th tayla
Speaking of people not saying thank you, I was at my vets the other day, opening the door to let my Dad come into the clinic with my kitten and then this other lady came in at the same time so i left the door open for her as well - no thank you, I just felt like saying oh you're welcome no problem lady :|. If that was me I'd say thanks.
Joel How much is the gas/petrol at Costco?
I paid 136.9p per Litre yesterday.
ostrich meat is real one taste a little grass flavour
They probably are not paying attention they are walking in Fri t if a car.
It's was awesome
You really have to do the math at Costco to see if it truly is a bargain😊
People think their getting bargains, but they aren't.horrid place I went once, never ever again
You sound quite a bit like Robert Webb, it's like an episode of Peep Show 😀 Great content though, it's exactly how I remember it from two decades ago, not really worth it
3:54 BOYCOTT PEPSI
I love shopping at Costco but you have to be careful shopping there to find good deals. The Soda Stream is not worth it in my opinion. It depends on the water quality at your house. If it is hard water or has a lot of chlorine or tastes bad, so will your Soda Stream water. Stick with sparkling water in glass bottles that can be recycled easily. What I despise about the place is that all the mens clothing has large logos plastered all over it. Why pay lots of money to advertise for The North Face or any other brand? You are working for them by doing that. Small logos on gym wear is another thing. Costco carries a lot of healthy food if you look closely. Most of the stuff unfortunately is ultra-processed shelf stable stuff that slowly destroys health. Like Pepsi Max, it may not have sugar/carbs or calories but the artificial sweeteners destroy the gut biome and that is a major part of the immune system. Three times a week, you 'll find me stopping by Costco. The gasoline prices are usually the cheapest in town, hence the long lines at the pump. Always buy my contact lenses there and on the rare occasion I need a prescription, it's Costco. Love going with my husband but he HATES shopping there on busy days. Wednesday-Thursdays around here are the least busy days and for rude people, that is global at Costco. For me, it's the people who block the aisles that are twelve feet wide with their carts.
Quid, P, VAT… this American does not know what all that is. 😩
This is part of the reason I watch his videos, I learnt so much over the years and gotta love the accent. My understanding is that quid is the same as pound, like we say bucks for dollars, p=pence =our cents, and VAT is taxes.
Joel I appreciate you taking us along to see what is in the stores in Britain, I like seeing the differences. I like seeing the scenery and the British stores.Hope you enjoyed your trip to London with Keegan.
Joel is great fun to go shopping with! Joel and his mom are even more fun to go shopping with!
We all love a bargain! I just think it in my head. I don't come home and look it up. But hey! Maybe I should start. Then, I would feel better about all my choices. Lol The North Face "jumpers" as y'all say look at it like you saved on shipping if ordered OR saved on people interactions if you went to the store! Love a waffling Joel, and I'm glad you had some time in London doing Joel things with Keegan!!! Always ❤
2:03 I respect Joel’s attempt at self-control. I could never --
I own a SodaStream (I’m actually on my second one) and I appreciate it, but I don’t love it. I’m not a fan of the sodastream bottles, specifically the opening. The plastic is extra thick, so they’re not the most comfortable to drink from. I usually make the drink in the bottle and then pour it into my preferred water bottle. (First world problems, I know). The second downside (and this might just be a local issue) is that I had to buy a countertop water filter. Our tap water has a metallic taste and chlorine smell to it, so it doesn’t make for good drinking water. But, those hurdles aside, I do appreciate the Soda Stream. It does save waste. I would recommend buying one, especially if it costs only £65. Our soda stream was $120, which is almost 50% more than the one you found.
I bought the soda stream which uses the glass bottles. I like it. I use 3 bottles which works for me.
lol… we went to Costco in Australia today. You really have to know your prices. We go there about once a month. We always overspend and buy things that we liked from the US. Guilty of buying a lot of the clothes… all the best from Melbourne Australia.
Soda stream is great, we've had for 5 years. We only buy the Flavoured water drops for it. Never the actual syrup.
That was interesting. I thought Costco was only in the USA 🇺🇸. I learned something new ❤
That's a TERRIFIC shirt colour, and suits you very well too.
Joel: Can you use your British Costco membership card in the US?
You can & vice versa. Worldwide for that matter. The cards don't work automatically, but the staff work it out.
My experience has been that quality is almost always high at Costco but you have to be careful not to get sucked in thinking everything is a bargain. Interesting price comparisons. Thx, Joel!
I love my Soda Stream! I got myself to stop drinking/craving drinking Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi by making my own sodas with less and less syrup.
Joel ostrich burgers are awesome! 👍❤️
Sodastream is great! You are in control of the amount of bubbles 🎉
I love my soda stream. I live alone and I find I need to replace the gas cylinder twice yearly. With people in the house, yours may not last as long. The supermarkets here in Australia give a significant discount if we bring back the used cylinder to be re-cycled. I love Costco videos! Thank you for this one!
Still waiting for "Shop with me at Waitrose"!
Simple answer is no, it is not cheaper. Buy the way sodastreams are pants.
I’m happy to hear Keegan and you taking time to chill out and have fun. How’s he doing? Is the nose still itchy?
It's amazing how exactly the same Costco looks inside. Maybe not that amazing, but fun!
It’s so weird, but I love these videos. Perhaps you can show even more what you buy and what for? Not sure if that makes sense with your purchases, but I would love this peek into your life 😅
Beautiful Sunday in Yorkshire too Joel. Just been around the Nature Reserve in the next village with my black cocker, George. He went for a swim in the lake and I came home dripping with sweat, my hair and shirt were literally dripping!
Joel have you ever tried Purely Elizabeth granola on yogurt. It is delicious. The granola is a bit crunchy so I mixed it in and wait a few minutes. 😋
I love purely Elizabeth right out of the bag. Especially the one with chocolate bits.
I love going shopping with you, Joel!! As an introvert, I recoil at crowded stores. I tend to rate rude cart pushers on how they may drive. I've always thought there should be traffic lights at the end of the aisles. 😂🚦
Hello Joel Wood
I love a little Waffling Joel before Sunday morning church service❤
Love my Soda Stream. Would recommend.
Love Costco!! ❤
Living alone, I generally don't shop at Costco...any savings I might experience would be eaten up by having to throw out wasted food.
I understand your plight. I'm single and the Costco products are sold as family size. My refrigerator's freezer cannot even hold the Costco-sized products.
Hi I alway go Costco with a shopping list i only buy laundry detergent softener because it cheaper and few bits too normally spent about £70 pounds
You're really developing a northern accent
I have had a soda stream for like 10 years and love it. I highly recommend it!
1:49 I know a Booktuber who solves them on camera. It’s quite fun!
Can you share who this is, please? It might sway my purchase!
@@lizwarwickcares Criminolly
2:12 You should get one of those vintage looking soda machines and go full on 1920s American diner.
Hi Joel, I love my Soda Stream. I drink about 2 liters of sparkling water a day, so I go thru 2 canisters of O2 about every 3 months. It’s mostly the juices (lemon and raspberry) I drink, so 0 cal, but I sometimes treat myself to the cherry cola. They do carry all the Pepsi products, so you’re in luck. So you may find it cheaper to buy Pepsi Max that way. Also, the O2 canisters are recycled thru them. You order the canisters, they send them to you and you send the old ones back in the same box. Shipping is prepaid and you canisters you buy are discounted. You can always buy more bottle for different flavors. The kids may like having their own bottle/flavor. The big bottles are 28 oz (828 ml) and the smaller bottles are 16 oz (483 ml). Enjoy
_"...maybe I'm too kind and considerate, when I'm out and about..."_
I can empathise with this big-time. I'm not saying I'm never rude, when I'm moody especially; but just generally-speaking, I don't understand how people can be so arrogant as to saunter in front of an approaching car, and not move. It's borderline psychotic lol
Joel enjoy going shopping with you to Costco. When I go no shopping around it does save you money but it can really add up fast. Keep your videos coming thank you.
Costco is cheaper per item, but you have to buy items in bulk. While it saves money per item, you have to buy 30 of them, costing you more money at the checkout. What you find is that you got a great deal on those Dove bars, but you had to buy a case of 30 bars at $30 to get it. That’s $30 for one item you’ve just placed into your cart.
It goes like this throughout the entire store. By the time you have 10 things in your cart, you’re already at $150 or more in items. It’s nearly impossible to get out of Costco having spent less than $100. It’s mostly the reason I stopped shopping there. If you have a household of 6 people, bulk can be worth it. When shopping for one or two, buying in large bulk assures that the last few will always be old and stale.
I need those bowls with plastic lids.
The prices you are showing for items in the Costco/UK do seem to be higher then prices at our local Costco's here in Atlanta. Prices at our local Costco's also seem to always beat prices on Amazon.
Here in México the prices at Costco (and everywhere) already include IVA, which is like your VAT. I was confused by the prices you were quoting. Why do they even show the pre-VAT price when you’re going to be paying it? Our local Costco has imported merchandise as well as lots of locally produced items, about half and half. It’s the deli case that is always interesting from one country to another. Ours has pollo en mole and tinga de pollo and on weekends they always have fresh paella. Right now they have the seasonal specialty, Chiles En Nogada. By the way, when are you going to go beyond Europe or Florida and come to México. I’ll be glad to show you around our colonial provincial capital of Morelia, Michoacán de Ocampo. Ignore the travel warnings. They should issue warnings for the U.S. where you can get shot at Walmart, at school or at your local church. Not dangerous here, it’s hospitable, welcoming and so very different from Europe.
