I know that's right. They will always be my home team and a major part of my childhood. I wish I could go back to the first game I ever attended at the old stadium. 😪
I get so emotional watching our world series runs. it reminds me of the excitement and pure joy of my dad and I sharing our love of the game. he and I went to countless games at the ballpark in the dead of summer for the cheap seats on the first base side. we watched our boys make not one, but two runs all the way to October special. my dad loved the rangers. he loved baseball. he knew the game better than anyone I've ever known. and he never even played it himself. my dad passed away in July 2018 from lung cancer. doing what he loved. cheering on the boys. let's go rangers! it's baseball time in Texas!
The Texas Rangers might just be the most bizarre franchise in all of professional sports in terms of accomplishments and milestones. While they lack the rich postseason success of Yankees, Red Sox, or Cardinals teams, they have a surprisingly high amount of isolated records for the franchise and MLB as a whole. The Rangers first came into existence as the Washington Senators until moving to Arlington in 1972. The Rangers are still the only team in league history to post a record above 500 after back-to-back 100-loss seasons. This was achieved in 1974, just their third season competing as the Texas Rangers. In 1991 at the age of 44, Nolan Ryan notched a record-setting seventh no-hitter. In 1994, legendary pitcher Kenny Rogers pitched the lone perfect game in Texas Rangers history. In 1996, the Rangers won their first AL West division title and made the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. They have existed as a team since 1961. In the 2006 MLB All-Star Game, Rangers star and future Hall-of-Famer Michael Young hit a clutch two-run triple in the ninth inning - which helped guide the American League to victory that night. During the 2007 regular season, the Texas Rangers scored an MLB-record 30 runs in one game against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. That record remains unbeaten. In 2010, the Rangers made their fourth postseason appearance in franchise history. They also won their first playoff series and AL pennant that same year. In 2011, Nelson Cruz and Ian Kinsler became the first two teammates in MLB history to hit home runs in the first three games of the season. In 2011, during game two of the ALCS against the Detroit Tigers, star outfielder Nelson Cruz hit the first-ever postseason walk-off grand slam in MLB history. He hit six home runs total in that series, also an MLB record. In 2012, during a regular season series with the Baltimore Orioles, Josh Hamilton became the first player to amass four home runs in one game since Carlos Delgado accomplished the feat in 2003 and the 18th player overall. In 2013, the Rangers became the first team in MLB history to record three consecutive walk-off home-run wins -- all against the Los Angeles Angels. In 2015, the Rangers again won the AL West division title for the sixth time in franchise history. Rookie Joey Gallo also hit his first two home runs in his regular season debut against the Chicago White Sox. In 2016, the Rangers had an American League-best 95 wins on the season. Strangely, the 2016 team had a poor +8 run differential -- far lower than any other playoff team. During a series against the Yankees in the 2018 regular season, rookie first baseman Ronald Guzman became the first player in MLB history to hit three home runs in a single game at Yankee Stadium. During the 2022 season-which was largely a disappointing campaign-the Rangers called up star infielder prospect Josh Jung to the majors. He would show a lot of promise and skill early on, becoming a permanent member of the Major League roster the following season. In 2023, the Texas Rangers lured three-time World Series champion manager Bruce Bochy out of retirement to manage the team. With the help of Bochy and newly-appointed general manager Chris Young, the Rangers returned to the postseason for the first time since 2016 as a Wild Card after posting a record of 90-72 on the season. During the 2023 regular season, star outfielder prospect Evan Carter was called up from Triple-A. He would immediately make an impact and turned the team’s fortunes around after enduring a lengthy and disheartening slump. In the 2023 postseason, the Texas Rangers finally did what was deemed to be impossible. They would start it off by sweeping the 99-win Rays in the Wild Card, then proceeded to sweep the 101-win and AL East champion Orioles in the ALDS. The last team remaining to prevent them from appearing in their third Fall Classic was fierce division rival and the reigning World Series champion Houston Astros, who they would ultimately best in the All-Texas ALCS that went a full seven games. In that dramatic series, star outfielder Adolis Garcia set a new record for the most RBI in MLB postseason history. With their win in Game 7 of the ALCS by a final score of 11-4, they secured their third American League pennant and World Series appearance. In the 2023 World Series against another underdog team in the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Texas Rangers would make history by winning Game 1 on a walk-off home run from Adolis Garcia - the first time in MLB history a walk-off has happened to open the Fall Classic - to take a 1-0 series lead. The Texas Rangers would proceed to accomplish something they hadn’t in their 63-year history as a franchise: win the World Series, doing so in five games with wins of 6-5 in Game 1, 3-1 in Game 3, 11-7 in Game 4 (becoming the first to put up a five-spot in two separate innings of the same World Series game since the Yankees in 1962 and 1936), and a 5-0 shutout victory to officially clinch their first-ever World Series championship. The 2023 Rangers are the only team in MLB history to go 11-0 on the road in the postseason. The 2023 Rangers hit home runs in 16 consecutive postseason games - also an MLB record. The Texas Rangers’ record of 68-94 the season prior is the worst in all of MLB history for a team that would go on to improve to 90 wins and capture a World Series title just one year later. As odd as this team is in so many aspects, I sure am glad I'm a fan of them, and I fully embrace all of their oddities. How about the magical postseason run of 2023 to finally win it all. We can finally say that our Texas Rangers are champions. They reached baseball’s summit and stand tall with the Commissioner’s Trophy. It will forever be part of our history. GO RANGERS!
In 2023, they signed deGrom, Evoladi, and others, they got Chapman from Kansas City, they got Scherzer from the Mets, they also got Stratton and Montgomery from the Cardinals, and that’s about it. This team went into the 2023 Postseason, they swept Tampa, Baltimore, and beat the crap out of Houston. They went to the World Series to face the Diamondbacks, and they finished the postseason not only as the best team in the American League, but came out as the World Series Champions. 11-0 record is both an impressive record and accomplished. I can’t believe that they actually did it. Go Rangers!!
Coming back to watch this after the Seager/ Semien signings had me in tears. So many great memories, and more to come. I love this team. Texas Blue for life!

I was at a few of these games. I miss these Rangers. The new team the last couple of years….just feel like a bunch of random strangers playing together. They don’t have the chemistry the Rangers have always had. Miss Beltre and Andrus being on short and third.
this 30 run game is one that no one who calls themselves a self respecting Texas Rangers Fan will ever forget for 8t is among the top 3 Rangers moments along side the back to back AL. Pennant wins.
Thank you for this comp. man. So many family outings and so many emotions when I was in the Navy in 2010 out to sea in the Persian Gulf watching AFN and seeing the Rangers go to their first World Series, screaming on the flight deck that my Rangers are going to the series for the first time ever

I’m still processing the Rangers winning the World Series. I was crying and saying to my dog that the Texas Rangers have won the World Series. The Rangers helped me feel better after my dog passed away back in January, and my grandmothers medical emergency in October. This is the BEST gift they gave to us Rangers fans. #WentAndTookIt.
I’ll never forget living in Texas when I was 7-11 years old (21 now) I was lucky enough to see the Rangers play in person while they were hunting for that World Series. Got to meet Chris Davis while he played there as well. Never forget those memories.
The latter half of this decade has been hell on Earth, but the trajectory of the team is clearly upward. Big spending for marquee FA's and an excellent crop of prospects are giving the DFW lots to be excited about. As poor as we've been, we already led the league in attendance last year. The foundation is there, so let's go and dominate!
Keep on dreaming even if it breaks your heart The great Eric Nadel said it best “RANGERS FANS, YOU’RE NOT DREAMING!!!!” They did it everybody! They really did it .. champions of baseball.
I think the best thing about the Rangers is that no matter who they have on the team, whether they are losing or winning, they always seem to be enjoying the game and enjoying being on the field. They genuinely love what they do and they may not play the best, but I will always admire how they never let it bother them and just continue to love to play the game. No other team that I know Can just enjoy it like that. That’s why they are my favorite.
I'm visiting the new stadium next week. I had opening day tix last year, but we know how that worked out. The Rangers will be back not that they don't have to play in an oven. The free agents should flock to Texas.
